Why are we getting a sudden swarm of n00bs flocking to the NH forums? I feel like these guys have mistakenly wandered over here, and don't realize how idiotic they're making themselves look.

Tip: Go to Nerf HQ, maybe they'll appreciate you there.

i think there might be a slight increase in the newb/day posting ratio, but don't worry too much about it. to quazi-quote from my memory somebody (probably cxwq): "they'll learn fast or they'll leave" meh, i'm sure someone can do a better job on that quote than i, but anyways, you get the point. in fact, grinchypoo, if i'm remembering correctly you joined this site during a newb-spike quite like this one, and you learned, as i'm sure you might say yourself.

a message to recent joiners of this site: in accordance with mr. grinch, i'm sure most members here would second the notion that if you feel that your "newbness" isn't appreciated or understood correctly by the users on these boards, give nerfhq a shot. they're just dying for more people like you.

I wouldn't call it an infestation as much as outbreak. Now that NHQ is back up (usually), hopefully the outbreak here can be suppressed. Then, NH's forum can go back to a mellow 2-3 total posts daily, about the next big war, or whatever. I suppose an active forum is nothing if its only activity in nonsense.

Still, I would rather deal with the ignorant newcomers if it means having newcomers in general.

I might have come here in a newb spike, although I didn't know it. I pretty much signed up for NHQ and NH simutaneously. Anyhow, we really should point 'em in the direction of the 'HQ. If they aren't appreciated here, than they'll probably have better luck over there.

OK taking the hint I went to check out NHQ and they were really lame compared to you guys. They would insult one another and then say that they were just kidding. I've decided to renounce my status (whatever that may be) and revert to the level of newbie (As we used to spell back in ye old day). When I first started talking to people in this community there really was no community...it was just stefan, spoon, and I. As such, I never really had the whole "noob" experience. I think it's time I find out what it's like to be a worthless little pube vacuum. So, treat me as such, and surely it will invoke no wrath, because lo and behold, I'm a Noob! Where did that come from? Well Capt. Popetacious is the ultimate combination of church and state that Conan O'Brian once predicted would be created as an office "in the year 2000". But it's become something all onto itself over the years really. I've been using the mocking alias since the list serve...so...something like 8 years now I think...anyway, it doesn't mean much more than good. So to anser your question...I didn't really come up with it. Like all good things in this world it was stolen and run into the ground.
