Ok quite a while ago, maybe about a year, I made my first homemade. So far it's the first I've seen that uses no springs, needs no firing control system, and one of the few to have a reverse plunger attached to the barrel. It only has one single part that is made of metal, the rest is plastic and the o-rings are rubber (obviously). I'll get pics up when I can. Oh and so far I've made it have a sni.per configuration, assault rifle configuration, and currently it has a PDW configuration.

I have no clue where the camera is. I will when I can. I must say though, it looks pretty sexy.

So you pull back on the barrel, and it has a reverse plunger, thus forcing the dart out. That kind of homemade?

You pull the barrel to suck the tail end of a dart into a washer ring, and you pull the barrel towards you to fire, the dart is pushed out of the washer at high speeds followed by a rush of air. Range is usually about 80 feet. From 15 feet away I left welts on the back of a kid that I hate.

Ramrocket guns are fun. They can be powerful, but hard to aim.

I know you said pictures are out for the time being, but you're still pretty light on details. Length? Plunger size? Barrel size?

Now that I can do, I'll measure the barrel, plunger, and gun itself. This is my first homemade and I'm still very much a newbie. When I built the gun, I wasn't even into nerf. I don't know if my idea has been used already, but it works damn well.

My first Nerf gun was an off-brand ramrocket gun. I got it when I was about 6 or 7. It shot about 40 feet, but when your 6 years old, that kicks ass. It had those cheap foam rockets, but it was still cool. A barrel attachment for yours to fire some form of nerf missile would be cool.

40 feet? Yours must have sucked. The ones they sell now shoot Titan missile-like things 100 feet. I'm getting one as soon as I see one, they're only 8 dollars.

I'm guessing that his range was flat and the current toy ramrocket's ranges are angles. Since this is the Homemade section, why not just build your own? All of the toy ramrockets that I've seen in stores have a cardboard body (cardboard = cheap).

Actually I can shoot NERF arrows for about 40 feet, it's kind of like nerf rifle grenades. I also have managed to fit about 5 darts in my barrel and launch them over the enemy, and believe me, it kills everything (not literally). I have also named my gun, I call it L.S.D. , for loud, sexy, and deadly (no not the drug).

Neat pictures, but if you made it so that is is basically hand powered... the ranges will probably be alot worse. Add a AR-15 spring or something!

It works like a ramrocket so it doesn't need springs, all it needs is two hands, ammo, and some anger . Actually the range is quite satifactory: 110 ft. Haha, I just noticed my toy MIG 29 in the backround.

HOMEMADE DIRECTORY UPDATE: In 15 minutes, your homemade will be added bored_kid93... and the person that made the PEX breech there wasn't much of a write-up so I didn't bother adding it.

Back on subject:
Hmm... I was expecting the ranges to not be as good as a spring. But it also depends on how strong you are aswell.

I know the design is a bit unusual, but it's perfectly functional. Oh and thanks for adding me to the directory, six-five-two.

Won't the action of firing put off your aim? The point of a trigger system is to reduce the motion needed to fire the gun, and improve accuracy, isn't it?.

Well, at the time, I didn't have any materials that could be used for a trigger, not even a clothespin. It's actually pretty accurate despite the moving barrel. I've hit people with this thing from about 80 feet away more than once in my nerfing experience. The only problem is that it's single shot, but I can still pull off a better ROF than a NF can. It's silenced too. The whole thing can be disassembled and placed inside a backpack. I was actually inspired by the VSK-94 idiot rifle : http://www.enemyforc...earms/vsk94.htm

Yeah, if the air volume is great enough, you can make up for the relatively slow delivery. The only problem becomes accuracy (because you have to move the gun to fire it) and length (more air needed).

It's decent in accuracy. For close range it hurts like hell. So it's pretty much in the middle of CQB and long-range.

I like it! Simple design, reliable, and you can shoot almost as fast as you can pull the barrel back and forth.

Oh and side note my eyes nearly fell out when I saw that mig.29 and yf-23 (or raptor which ever you like better) because I have exact replicas of both of them and another forgot the name of it.

Haha, thanks. Right now I'm working on a homemade valve that will double as the endcap, But will give me a single long range shot without having to work the plunger, which will increase the accuracy by quite a bit.

Sorry to double post, but I have some news. I have found some materials that can be used to make more of these for anyone who wants one, I will charge $3 for each one, $5 for a specialized one with a skeleton stock and silencer. This is ment to be the STEN gun of nerf.

It's exceeded 80'. But yes it is dirt cheap, perfectly functional, and is easy to use. Oh and I thought the original topic name was a bit too bold, so I changed it. As for the subtitle, I added those pictures due to a few requests, and it looks pretty awesome for a ramrocket style gun. The gun is actually a product of my canadian inherited craftiness. All the parts came from my garage, I didn't buy a single part.
