This is my first post, so be gentle. I was browsing for the AR spring for the FAR, when I found this. Link. Does anybody think this is worth trying? Bash away.

I really should reevaluate my Nerf carreer. I have been ultimated multiple times in a war, shot by a girl with an arced NF, and EMBARASSED by a 6 year old in quidditch on xbox. What am I doing with my life?

No, it isn't worth it. The shells are too big and there are only five of them. Don't bother with it.

I don't think that particular product would work, because real shells are a lot smaller than our shells...

But the concept isn't a bad idea. I've considered shell guns (shells do have some advantages) and one of the main reasons I've decided not to pursue them yet is because shells might get lost.

The one thing I think would get in my way would be aestheticity. Having a box on the side of your gun isn't that pretty lookin. It'd have to be a stylish box.

The second problem I foresee is if it got full or shells were pushed back in, the gun would jam and... yea. Then you'd have to take it off without it ever having done anything. I would make an easy-open bottom so you don't have to replace it every time it gets full.

Otherwise, go for it. I may join you sometime in the near future, with balsa wood...

I was thinking of it for my Buzz Bee Rapid Fire Rifle but im already into another project before I start on this gun. I was going to use either a thin wood or some kind of hommade caseing. Also just an idea for it to attach and detach I was thinking of putting velcrow on with the box having a hinge attached on the other end. Or just having it held on by a nice long strip of velcrow. Tell me how it works if you decide to do it.

Commonly Hunted, I didn't specify but I meant to make a homemade one out of balsa wood or something similar. And Flaming Hilt nice idea on the easy open box, and I hadn't thought of the gun jamming. Thanks guys.

I think it'd be much easier just to use a mesh bag, and somehow attach it to the side so that it could be removed if necassary.

Ive been contemplating this idea also for the buzzbee guns that also use shells. A mesh bag was the best thing I came up with also. I was thinking it should be made out of metal wire or something because as long as it was ganvanized it would not rust.
