I'm sure atleast SOME of you have seen/acquired one of those Energy Paintball guns that were in for a while. I was wondering if anyone had successfully modded one with good results?

I've modded some talons, a prolite and 4 blades. CO2 is something you want to stay away from since you already have to deal with the imperfections of homemade darts, co2 simply complicates the situation with its 200-2000psi deviation based on many variables. The main advantage behind Co2 is that it is relatively cheap to store(that's why stock markers usually use co2) and it gives you somewhat unpredictable, albeit effective, gas expansion. If you want to piddle with it, use 5/8" stefans.

Nonono Viper. Energy paintball were those little guns that you pump like a shotgun and it shoots a little blob of washable..."goo". I opened it up and the plunger and plunger tube are very unique (and small) but got good ranges with the goo.

Those are more like airsoft than nerf or paintball my friend. A 6mm paintball is a small light projectile and out of; those ‘guns’ they really just don’t get great range. I know some people have tried modding airsoft ‘guns’ before with poor results. While I don’t want to dicurage you and I won’t go say that you’d have exactly the same outcome. I wouldn’t waste a ton of time or money if any on it expecting to get even scout ranges.

Dude, you got them for less than $2 and getting them brand new at Target and such costs $20+. Open one up and take pictures already.

So is there actually a plunger that propels the paintballs with compressed air, or is actually hitting and launching the paintballs? I can't imagine a cylinder of 1/2"x1/3" could possibly generate enough air to launch a paintball very far, no matter how fast it is moved.
