When I was looking at the internals of my titan trying to reduce its weight I was kind of dissapointed that the valve that lets the air into the barrel only opened about 1/8", so I bent the pin that the triger pulls to open the valve so when you pull the trigger it immediatly opens the valve over 1/2". On my titan this improved my range a little but my velocity even more. Try it, I think you will like it.

That's a great idea! How high is the velocity, ballpark?

Well I really dont know how fast the dart is going but I can say that it does increase the velocity a lot, if you do this remember to put glue in before and after your weight on your stefand or the weight WILL shoot out from the increased velocity.

1313, if properly done, I believe your mod also solves another problem that you may not have noticed yet. I was working on figuring out the problem last night- I found after a certain amount of pumps my Titan was leaking air, even though the OP valve was plugged. You noticed this in the topic I posted earlier. Through some testing, I believe the leak was from the firing pin itself- if you notice when you open it up and pull the trigger, the firing pin does not return fully into the chamber, which I believe may have been causing the leak. By pushing the firing pin all the way in and then bending it, you may have actually solved that particular leak, as I did something like you did and the leaking has ceased. So you may have actually increased the overall power of the Titan (pressure-wise) as well as make it a faster release. In short, I would not doubt the gun could hit the 200+ mark consistantly, although partial snow and wet ground is keeping me from testing.

Wow, I guess this is a better mod than I had thought. Thanks ompa. And yes my titan with its breech loading brass barrel can hit the 200' mark consistantly with my darts.

With mine its accurate the whole distance it shoots other than the darts drop because of gravity. Hope this answers your question.

I have a question about the 200' mark. Did you have to arc it or did you straight forward and hit the 200' mark?

Yeah, I'm sure that helps, I think I effectively did the same thing, except bic pen mod style. It really does need faster air release to own as much as possible.

When I measured the distance it was a flat shot. I was just amazed by its power. My dad was like, "You got that from a frickin nerf gun?!?!?!?"

Could someone please post pics of what to do exactly on this mod? I want to make sure I'm doing it correctly so I don't screw up my Titan. Thanks.

When your gun is open pull the trigger back a little bit and look to see where the trigger pulls back a rod that opens the valve to shoot it. There will be an orange piece on it and just take it off and then bend that pin until it touches the piece that the trigger catches onto, I dont have a picture but I hope you get it, if not just ask.

Alright 1313, while attempting your mod I got pissed off at that little orange piece for not wanting to come off and I bent the pin a wrong way and it became disconnected with the valve. So I have a big problem now and I'm going to have to cut into the tank to fix it and then reseal it back up somehow, unless you or someone else has a better idea on how to fix this.

Is there still a small bit of pin left or did you pull the whole thing out? If there is a small bit left you could glue something to it to connect it to the trigger. I think cutting the tank open should be last resort so try other things.

I see no other way. It's not that the pin can't be connected to the trigger, because I can fix that problem. The pin is still fully intact and still in the hole leading to the tank, it's that the pin is no longer connected to the valve so it can't pull it back to release the pressure. If you know another way besides opening the tank please let me know.

If I go this route, does anybody know the best place to make my cut/hole in the tank?

Working through a hole is difficult- I'd say just cut all the way around the tank so you're left with 2 portions. That way, if need be, you could just use an appropriate size PVC or coupler to join the 2 sections with more strength than just epoxy alone.

Well I think I'm gonna pick up a new N-Strike anyways. I need another Scout to mod and I already sold the Hornet so I'll take another one of those. I'll try the mod again on the new Titan then. What's the best way to remove that little orange piece off of the firing pin without damaging the internals?
