Stupid n00bs are irritating. Really irritating.

In fact, the only thing more irritating than stupid n00bs is 5 or 10 people immediately telling them how stupid they are. In every single post they make.

Tough love has gotten to the point around here where I'm about ready to suspend myself for a few years just to escape it. NH has become a site full of pissants and it's really pathetic.

Though he doesn't know it yet and may very well refuse, I have appointed Ompa as the official stupid n00b greeter. Ompa is the only person allowed to tell people to read the Code of Conduct. Ompa is the only person allowed to tell people to fix their grammar. Ompa is the only person allowed to complain about double posting or bumping. If Ompa doesn't tell them off and I don't suspend them then it's not a problem.

The rest of you can either help the n00bs out or shut the fuck up.

Actually, for the next 6 or 8 weeks I'd prefer not to have to do it myself. Though I will be around occasionally to keep an eye on the place, I intend to finish Karma by the time I finish classes this quarter. That will take many hours of coding which I can't do when I'm always coming here to see who is being an idiot.

Regarding the choice of Ompa, he reminds me of myself back on NO when I was a bit more patient and a lot less misanthropic.

Ompa sounds like a good nomination to me. He seems to be the most n00b-friendly compared to some of the other people on here (Yes, I admit myself to not being so n00b-friendly as well.) I am sorry for being a jerk to some of the n00bs around here. All of us have been n00bs once, and they are the newer generations of this community. Without them, nerfing as a whole would die down to only a small group of true diehards.

Well, something had to be done about that. So, good idea Cx. I hope I don't acidentely(sp?) tell someone to read the code of conduct. I don't know howed I'd do that, but, its a thought. Are you going to put this into the code of conduct?

I must have missed something really big, because I didn't notice a large influx of flames and new "n00bs".

Ompa is good choice, but's it's also so sad that it had to come to this. If our member's were more open and mature, this could be a hard-love community that actually accepts a member once and a while.

I guess it's too much to ask of children though.

When I opened NH today, I saw that I had a new message. I saw it was from Cx, and at first wondered what the hell I had done wrong. I'll admit, I was suprised to see that I had been nominated for this position, however undesirable it is. But hey, 4-8 weeks? It's not like I'm doing anything, and I'm on the forums nightly anyways. Well, ALMOST nightly, there are a few I can only sneak on a few minutes. But yeah, I'll definately take up the position, it doesn't really involved a change in my forum behavior or whatnot.

Thanks for the support, I guess. I know you're all secretly sniggering at my job.

Just realized something- Anyone else find it ironic that I'm the one now policing the newer members and giving advice when I haven't even been to a nerf war yet?

Trust me, you don't want to meet me in real life when I'm pissed. And I'm usually very very misanthropic. Just ask Airapache, he knows. And Air, if you make ONE more little movement with your bow and the word "Schmelzer" comes out, I will take a scissors and cut all the tendons in both your arms, and your vocal cords out. Same goes for Bobby.

As long as everybody is going to read this post (and suck up to both Cx and Ompa) I'd like to add a couple things:

We really need a way to keep idiots out of the site. Literally, I've stopped checking the boards frequently anymore because of people who don't bother to respect the reputation of this site.
Yes, I was one of the people who signed up without reading the Code of Conduct first (I pretty much thought it would be like any other CoC, don't swear, talk about pr0n, you know, the basics), but it turned out that the site was much better than that. I seriously think that a questionnaire/test is needed for new members.

Oh...and visit the Nerf Wars page please! We really need northern illinois-area people to initiate wars (so that Ompa and I can actually have some experience).
