When and Where?
Saturday, November 2, 11:00 AM @ Plymouth Township Park 46640 W Ann Arbor Trail, Plymouth Township, Michigan (Map at the bottom of the post).

So, I had a war up here a few months ago and it turned out pretty good, so I figured I would have one around Halloween!

What to Bring:
-A primary or two... or three: It’s helpful to have a primary at Nerf Wars. Also, try to bring a few, at the last war the definitely was some blaster troubles.
-A Sidearm: We will warm up with a round of pistol meat grinder, and it’s helpful to have a back up blaster on your hip if you want, so bring one.
-Eye protection: Mandatory if you’re under 18, HIGHLY recommended if you’re over that age.
-Darts: Bring darts, you need them. I may have enough to lend some by the time war day comes, but I can’t make any promises.
-A good attitude: Last war we had no problems at all with this, but just don’t be a Douche.
-BIG AMMO!: Anything that fires anything larger than a micro will be HEAPS of fun for Defend the Core, and not to mention could be used as “BAWLZ” in Carpe.
-Extras!: Bring your Plus ones, twos, and threes people! More people is what makes the wars more fun!
-Warm Clothing!: It’s going to be getting pretty cold up here in the D, so dress warm!

Rules:
-I Don’t give a crap about age as long as you follow the rules.
-Any air blaster that originally shoots anything larger than A mega dart must have its OPRV completely stock.
-No singled titans, singled super soakers, or anything like that are to be used in war play, but you can bring them just for fun, of course.
-Slugs must have a weight of a 3.0 fishing weight or lighter, and try your best to avoid exposed metal.
-Glue Domes must have a weight of a Single copper head BB or lighter. I know, I’m picky, but I’ve seen and heard of some pretty bad glue dome injuries.
-Sili domes, Snickers, and all that good stuff are A-OK!
-No realistic looking blaster paint jobs or clothing, meaning camo and such.
-If you’re under 13 years of age, your gaurdian needs to be there throughout the full war.
-I am not responsible at all for any injuries that occur at this event.
-All blaster and dart bans will be finalized by meh.

The map IS Different than the last war, because we had problems with reserved parking last war. So, follow this one now.

A month and a half is enough time to say that I might have my car ready to drive that distance (assuming I find a job soon.) List me as a maybe. The whole not having a job is making it hard to take care of my car and it's got a lot of small problems accumulating, trying to minimize driving so they don't get worse.

Update:

Assuming something else on my car doesn't go bad/break down that I can't afford to fix, it would appear that I might actually be able to make it. Gas costs will be an issue for me since I have yet to find a job, so I would like to list myself as an available carpool (to split gas costs.) I have plenty of trunk space for boxes and/or larger blasters and room for three since I... am a friendless bastard (not really, my friends just aren't in to Nerf.)

For anyone in Toledo who might be interested in a carpool, I live about 6 miles away from UT and about 11 miles from Owens, send me a private message if you want to try arranging something.

I'd like to join. It's a reasonable drive from Troy, MI, and I may be able to bring a friend or two, not sure yet. That said, I still need to get my equipment sorted in order (need primary, still haven't made McMaster orders for wyes and mass-production slugs, only have some single-barrel sidearms [CPVC NF and AT2k] that need to be muzzle-loaded, etc.), so mark me down as maybe, and I'll get back to this thread once I'm ready. If anyone is offering to lend, I'm all for it, but it's better to have my own equipment.

As for equipment, since I come from a water warfare background, it's worth asking whether I'd be allowed to use a pressurized reservoir water blaster with a custom, smaller air tank. (Say, a tank made of 1" Sch. 40 PVC about 3"-4" long.) The OPRV would be stock; most water blasters put them in the pump itself. Performance should be pretty close to an AT2k's, or at least the air tank size. I know that these are generally banned regardless (as "water blaster" and "homemade air tank" don't seem to be the words most NIC members want to hear put together, regardless of the blaster's OPRV or air tank size), but I figured it's worth asking.

Anyway, since this is my first NIC war, any links to things like detailed game rules would be appreciated. I'll be searching myself and/or asking on game day anyways, but you can never be too prepared.

It sounds like that blaster should be ok, but bring a back up just in case. Honestly, if you make some darts, a NF would be just fine as a primary any way. We're just having fun, and at my last war a guy ended up using a stock sspb for a round, so don't sweat it. PM me if you have any additional questions.

In that case, might as well mark me as confirmed. I have nothing to do that day, and I have plenty of stuff I can bring anyway (CPVC'd sidearms, stock N-Strike stuff, etc.), regardless of how far I get in my workshop projects.

While the war is supposed to be in two days, you two maybes are what will decide whether this war will happen or not, so an answer would be good as soon as possible.

It's going to be quite rainy tomorrow, and there's only three players confirmed (my friend doesn't want to come at all). I'm loosing interest in this since it doesn't look like a whole lot is going to happen. (Not to mention the playing area looks fairly bland.)

If we don't get more confirmed, then I'm definitely dropping out.
