This is going to be a set of wars that will happen twice a month, at the same location for the duration of summer.
Dates: June 30th, July 14th & 28th, August 11th & 25th (All are Sundays')
Time: 10ish - 4ish
Where: Picnic Area #3
Address for your mapping site of choice: Park Dr, West Allis, WI 53227
Relevant rule changes:
~ Limit of 3 weapons/shields on you at anytime
~ You are not out if you catch projectiles with only your hand.
~ You can choose to be a "Walker" Zombie, loosing anything except handtag and you may only walk, but you are invincible. During zombie rounds only. Or not. We won't judge.
~Homemades may now also be allowed if they are pistol-esque
What to bring:
+ At least 1 pistol for the pistol rounds. Clipped stuff counts as a pistol if 6-shot clips are used.
+ Melee Weapon if preferred. Your melee weapon can only be 1-4 feet long and less than 1 ft wide. Any melee weapon may be disallowed if I deem it unsafe.
+ Enough ammo. If you do not have ammo, don't worry, we have a community bucket going. (However, our bucket could always use a re-fill if you feel like donating)
+ Eye protection is mandatory
+ A bag lunch with plenty of water or some other type of drink
+ Appropriate clothing. Or inappropriate. We're not picky.
What not to bring:
- Slugs/Stefans/Glue domes
- Modified stock ammo
- Anything painted entirely black, silver, or any form of camouflage
- Douchy attitude
Relevant Information:
~ Don't be afraid to ask questions! The only dumb question is the one not asked.
~ Anybody is welcome to attend, including family and friends. Said people should be 13 years of age or older due to general shenanigans
~ Homemades are only allowed if they shoot large ammo (Arrows, Balls ect. ) or be pistol-sized
~ West coast rule-set
~ A hit is defined as the projectile in question changing direction upon the striking the player first. If there is a dispute, the host is right. Please don't break the flow of rounds over hits, it's just a game.
~ If any guns have any sharp or pointy objects on it, try and duct tape it down. This is mainly for Toaster boy. Hopefully he'll show up for once
~ Barrel taps: if you think you have to barrel tap with something at a stock-ammo war, you're doing it wrong
~ Limit of 3 weapons/shields on you at anytime
~ Shields are allowed in rounds where classes are not involved, for primaries you may have a small shield, pistol; medium, melee...just don't bring a brick wall or something.
~ Blasters count as shields
~ Shields are broken by large ammo and count as a hit
~ Classes might be a thing;
Medic: Respawn modifier; his effect has changed for pretty much every war. Sometimes limited in weapons, sometimes not. Has an inhibited respawn
Spartan: Only person with shield in class-rounds (provided). Limited to melee (provided if preferred). He laughs at large ammo that plinks off his shield and weapon.
Engineer: Movable mobstacle (provided) which is vulnerable to large ammo. Cannot be boom-headshot-ed on the helmet
Possible Game-types:
Chaos/Meatgrinder/Shenanigans/Immortal/Style/Pattycake round
Zombie/Killing floor
Freeze Tag
Wingman
Capture the Flag
Attack / Defend
Experimental rounds (Always taking suggestions!)
+ More
After party
We typically go to Pizza hut/Taco bell after wars, here's the address for it:
11011 West National Avenue, West Allis, WI 53227

I understand. We should probably just host a war or two up here in Green Bay anyway this summer. It would be on a Saturday though, and I have to talk to some of the other guys up here. Hopefully, myself and others I'd go down with may still be able to attend one or two Sunday wars.

Unfortunately, I'm still recovering from a pretty major surgery, so I can't really participate yet... Well maybe I could be a zombie.
I would love to talk rules, mods, melee construction, and such with some locals if it's cool.

Sweetness! See you there!Hey, I live down the street. Since my girl is busy at her tabletop RPG on Sundays, maybe I could swing by.

As long as ya have one good hand I'm sure you could play. I've seen people (lou) with two broken arms still play. Plenty of stryfes you could use!

You have my curiosity. It most likely be allowed, being considered large ammo.Would you consider allowing a disc shooting homemade?
Basically, it boils down to if you get hit oddles of times with darts, it only takes one life off you. For rounds with lives, we play somehting like 3/15, in english, that means 3 lives and 15 second respawns where you can move around and reload. If this isn't doesn't answer your question, I can go further. So, where would I find a copy of these rules?

Ok, cool. As you have probably guessed, aside from running the skirmishes at work, I'm totally new to Nerf Wars.
I have another question. This one is about melee weapons. Just so you know where I'm coming from; I have been a member of a couple of Boffer-styled LARPS, as well as a safety officer in the local IFGS chapter back when it was still active. So I'm wondering what standards are often used when building weapons for Nerf events, and what standards should I be considering for your event? I have some designs that I would like to try out before a couple of "Rising" Zombie LASH games that I'm going to be in at GenCon in August. I don't want to assume that they will pass your safety inspections without knowing your standards.

I'd say our "standards" are pretty much like larp standards, but it has more to do with how you use them. For events like this, you should really only have to tap someone to get them out, while not really needing to get past someones guard (due to short-ish melee weapons). Just bring what you like without hindering yourself and we'll see what's allowable. (Just remember nothing much longer than 4' and/or wider than 1'. These guidelines are also pretty loose and are even more lenient for silly weapons.)Ok, cool. As you have probably guessed, aside from running the skirmishes at work, I'm totally new to Nerf Wars.
