First off, I'm new here and if I'm violating an rules or have this in the wrong spot, just PM me and I'll delete it or make the changes.

So, I've ben looking to get my hands on an Alpha trooper and some SSPB's for parts, but it seems that stores are no longer carrying them online, and they are way overpriced on amazon, which is typically what happens to discontinued guns. I also can no longer find the SSPB in stores. so, are these guns dissappearing, or is it just me? Hard to believe the Alpha could be already gone since its only a year or two old.

As far as I know, neither has been officially discontinued, but there has been discussion online that the Alpha Trooper is no longer available. I've seen the auction prices for a NIB Alpha Trooper on eBay being $35+ and that doesn't include shipping. The BIN price was $80+

The Walmart near me (upstate New York) just got a large shipment of Alpha Troopers, so I assume that you can still find them in-store. ans as far as stores not carrying things online, if you are referring to the Walmart online store I will say this: if you are looking for something specific, it somehow knows and removes that item from stock (either that or I have really bad luck when trying to use it). Either way, good luck in your search
Progress: Just a long line of people saying "See? I told you it could be done"

Every Target around me is stocked with ATs still, and last weekend I picked up 3 more SSPBs from my TRU.

Alpha Troopers at Wal-Mart? The box clearly claims it's a Target exclusive.

Recently many stores have been low of stock of Nerf Blasters in general cause of Winter. Wait until later March, early April and they'll start popping up. A Wal-Mart in my area just finally restocked Nerf for the first time since early December. With spring starting stores will start restocking. And there is a possibility because of the popularity of the Alpha Trooper, Nerf is releasing them in other stores to sell more of them.
You're never too old to play with Nerf Blasters.

Hey Shanaynay!!! Although the target in my area has not had alpha troopers for a while, I have seen secret-strikes at both target and wal-mart.

I've seen the SSPB around a lot. The AT though has been scares in my area, but the target and Wal-Marts around me have had crap pickings for a while now... if they keep low stock for the winter that could be why everything went on clearance. But it seems weird though the Dart Tag and Vortex lines seem like they are fully stocked, but the N-Strike line all I ever find lately (unless I'm at TRU) is Recons, Raiders, LSK, Mav's and NF's.

Man, I guess all the Nerf stuff is staying up north because down here in the South, specifically Texas, we can't find a trace of an Alpha trooper, just the newer blasters such as the lumitron, rayven, and speedswarm.

EDIT: just got word from a friend, and its not a good one.

Side note I got confirmation the AT is discountinued. So grab them up if possible. Also explains why they released JUST the drums... hmmm NERF... sometimes I hate you.

How did you get that info? got an inside man?

of sorts... we know vendors... wholesalers etc.
Kinda like "if you see something suddenly vanish or showup... let me know"
AT's vanished... well have been for a while. You mentioned they were hard to find so I emailed to ask what wholesale was doing... NOTHING. Out of stock. So sounds like back stock is left? They are a target specific market... so? Perhaps target had a play on their demise.

This is it guys, the AT is leaving.

Wow, thanks for the help guys! So, to wrap it up the AT is officially being discontinued, and the SSPB can still be found in some spots?
I wish Nerf would post on their website or make it known generally when they have decided to stop making certain guns. Sometimes it's obvious, such as when the Longstrike came out, it was clear it was to replace the Longshot and the longshot would then be discontinued. Anyway, thanks for the insight, I'll be sure to grab an AT when I see one, and for SSPB, there aren't any in ANY store in my area. And Griever, you still find Recons? I haven't seen one in ages.

Yeah it's like the only N-Strike my Target and Wal-Mart ever seem to have. Plus in TRU they got the regular and the Sonic ones always in stock.

Here in SE Wisco I cant find alpha troopers or specters anywhere. I'm also having a very hard time finding sspb's, quite sure that the jolt is taking over the pocket blaster spot. It's just a matter of time before most of the current N-Strike blasters are gone and new Elite versions will come out. If there's something you've been putting off getting, pick it up now. Prices should drop right around when Elite shows up, or blasters may just vanish, like the alpha trooper.

Whenever I find sspb's I buy em all, seeing as they are usually only two bucks. Cant beat the possibilities of 100+ feet for that price. (working on a pump replacement right now).

Happy hunting, and don't forget to check Craigslist!

Strange how you are having trouble getting the Alpha Trooper online. I received my AT from Target online just a week ago. The few Walmarts here in Socal always seem to have Spectres stocked. Torrance targets started stocking Jolts a couple of weeks ago and since then I have only seen a few SSPB... in the clearance isle.
