Well, this will most likely my last post, since I will find out a way to remove my account, and if not, I will ask an administrator.

I am a newcomer that just had his account validated on 12/2/08. Now, i thought that Nerf Haven would be a place where I could just post questions and get some nice answers from more experienced nerfers. And I posted up a subject that was pretty much a thread, but I got results.

Then I wanted to make a second post THANKING those who replied to my first post...

First of all, I would like to thank everybody that replied to my first post ever! I really appreciate everybody's advice.

Okay, first thing's first. Gun combos. Now a lot of people named individual guns, while others say that it all depends on what type of war you are doing, and I completely agree with both. But I do lean towards the second one though. Because it truly does depend on where the war is, and who you'll be facing.

Next, Darts. A very experienced contributer and member, CaptainSlug and another member Minsc said that I should just make Stefans. That's fine and dandy, but I can't really find any store that sells FBR, and no offense guys, but I really don't trust net sellers. There are just too many risks when you buy from the net. So if you guys know any other hardware store that I can buy FBR, please tell me, and if there are any nicknames for it, also please tell me.

Next, Mods. Now practically half of the members that replied mentioned what mods they had for their guns. One of them suggested that I shouldn't stretch the springs, but just add more springs. Well, that's kinda too late, since they've been stretched for a while. But if there is a way to collapse them, please reply.

Well, that all I wanted to say, oh an again, Thank You to all who replied to my first post, peace!!!!

And obvious mistake, because these were my worst results...

Am I the only one missing the point in these threads? Seriously, is there any fucking point in these threads?

Grow up a little and order some foam online. Or do a better job of looking. All of the big box home improvement stores carry it, most hardware stores like True Value and ACE carry it... You just aren't looking in the right places. ANd if you can't find it, ASK A SALES PERSON. That's what they get paid for.

Ah Damn... there's a part two!?!?! Seriously!

Anyways, there may be a way to collapse springs. It invloves temperature treating it, and then leaving it compressed for a certain amount of time, but I think that in the end (good LP song), you will get worse performance than how you started off with stock springs. You may as well go reconstruct your arsenal from the ground up...

Edit: Wow. Avatar thief. I feel so thieved from.

Not anymore. We're done here. Shadow, you're skating on incredibly thin ice.

Those were unnecessary, and very hurtful towards me. All they had to say was "You're not allowed to make a second post, use the edit option on your first post."

I was completely unaware that there was an edit option. I'm fucking new here. You can't expect me to know everything about this site in a very short amount of time. And after that, I wanted to correct my mistake, but instead, both of my topics get closed by none other than One Man Clan. All I wanted to do was thank everybody, and he does this to me.

I am aware that I made a mistake, and obviously according to the responses, a very big mistake. AND I WANT TO FUCKING FIX IT!!!!! But no, I can't.

I just don't get it, no matter what type of posting website I'm on, these flamers will always find me, and just incinerate me. Now I'm pretty sure you're thinking, "Jesus Christ, what a bitcher!"

You know what? I have had to deal with all of this shit ever since I started life. There was always ALWAYS somebody there to make my social life miserable.

I am sick and tired of dealing with this constant bullshit. EVERY SINGLE DAY I AM RIDICULED FOR WHO I AM!!!

I don't want any more of it, especially on a site where I can get some advice for a hobby of mine.

Now all I ask is for my first two posts to be removed. Now I ask YOU, is that too much to ask? IS IT?!?! For those of you who are starting to consider thinking about actually absorbing my message, I congratulate you. If not, well, I don't feel like demeaning you in any way.

So, this is my final word on this topic: Just do it, and my pain will have ended.

If you made it this far, I deeply appreciate you for being such a good listener.

If you haven't, well, I hope you become a better listener soon enough.

And for those of you who plan on flaming this, go ahead, I don't fucking care, that will only prove my point.

Um... what was the point of this topic? Stop being such a sissy and stop making these. Go along with the damn crowd already. This might be the ice-breaking moment for OMC. Good luck. Also, you don't need to make stupid threads like these for thanking. I may be a noob, but I've known this site for quite awhile. So, you're lucky if you don't get banned right now. This was your second mistake, buddy.

Go cry in a corner, good riddance, etc.

Fuck off man.
We don't need you.

Oh, btw, Jesus Christ, what a bitcher.

Also, your sig makes me laugh.

I hate flamers. If I ever figure out where they live, I will chop off their legs, rip out their small intestine, process the meat from their legs, use their intestine as a sausage casing, and I will force them to cook it, and i will eat it and it will be delicious.

The people you quoted, with the exception of One Man Clan, are newish members. They post a lot, most of it not worthwhile. Since their post count is high and they see others do it, they think they can be assholes to the new members. Then there are those who just joined and want to get ahead of the game by catching on quickly (Betrayal). The thing these people haven't realized is the older members (not saying I include my self) have unspoken rules. One of these is if one person tells the new member something, nobody else needs to say it. If you look at it by itself, One Man Clan's post was not actually very harsh. You did break a forum rule, which is to not post in old threads. This is understandable as it is acceptable on other forums. It is in the code of conduct, but some rules no one cares about, like not riding your bike on the sidewalk. Many new members do this. I do applaud you on your good grammar. I recommend you don't delete your account and just do this: Every time you are about to hit the "Add Reply" button, think "How could I be flammed for this?" After a little while you will see what does and doesn't fly.

But. If you are still not convinced and want to delete your account, I suggest you do something like Kabuki did in my signature.

Guys, consider that we don't pay the bills here, so we shouldn't be demanding stuff. If you genuinely don't like it, there are a few free forum makers out there. Make your own forum. However, there is something that most of the members on here are forgetting (including some of the respected, experienced members). This site exists because of nerf, not the other way around. We as a community need to stop turning people away just because they don't follow the forum rules set before us. I see this happen much too often. If a moderator finds a serious problem with a member, then they'll probably deal with it. If they have broken major rule, it might be best just to politely suggest to them certain unwritten rules in this forum (and some written ones). Our community really needs to be more open, as the rules on here are a little strict at first. I know that they exist to produce content, but I would trade a good mod or homemade for some new active nerfers any day. And for the love of god, quit swearing, you sound like 12-year-olds.

There is something I missed, the quotes that you mentioned are not entirely that bad. Some were a little rude, sure, but number 3 I have no idea what you are talking about.

Damn it Foamfoot. Why is it that you kill every good topic with a retarded response a few days late.

I'm going to have to agree with hedgehog also. I can understand when someone gets banned for multiple offenses and spamming, but when someone makes a simple mistake, swearing, flaming, and banning does not fix the problem. In fact it probably just provokes the person even more, causing them to post topics like this (I have no problem with this topic), and so starts the cycle again.

I agree too.

The way it is lately, a new guy asks a question, then first reply is "OMG GTFO N00b! UZE THE SEARCH FUNCTION" or "YOU DID SOMETHING WRONG YOU IDIOT lol MODZ GONNA BAN YOU," and so on. The first two replies to this topic are perfect examples.

Most people don't realise that people who have joined a NERF forum have probably never used any other internet forum before. Everything's new to them. Cut them some slack, post a helpful reply or don't say anything at all. Swearing and flaming on the interweb makes your e-wang smaller. Think about that, kiddies. You really want a tiny e-wang? What will that first girl say "lol look at your tiny e-wang"? Yeah, it's a daunting possibility.

If you happen to be new, and you happen to know how to use a forum, or you know quite a bit about Nerf, good on you, use that knowledge to contribute, not flame and get post counts. If someone asks a question with an obvious answer, kindly direct them and help them, don't be so uptight.

That's pretty much all I have to say.
Think about it.

I'd like to think that you aren't including me in that, but that's mostly because I try to make my posts matter. It bugs me that I'm considered new, just because I have only been on Nerfhaven for what, four months? I read for quite a while before I was validated, though.

Look, hedge, I was in a foul mood, so I did come off as an asshole. Sorry. But the instructions stand. FBR isn't hard to find. And it really bugs me that there are still so many people unwilling to make purchases online. If you use some common sense, and involve your parents, you will probably have no problems placing an order. If my (seven year old) kid found something online that he wanted to buy, I would help him find the best price from a reputable dealer. Most parents would. It's pretty easy.

ShadowTheHedgehog300,
Your member account at NerfHaven has been temporarily suspended.

Your account will not be functional until April 26, 2036, 1:18AM (depending on your timezone). This is an automated process and you do not need to do anything to expediate the unsuspension process.

Board Address: http://nerfhaven.com/forums/index.php

Everyone needs to learn this. Asking me to do ANYTHING for them (unless they are a friend of mine who I have nerfed with) will get them the exact opposite of what they asked for.

In other news, my semester is ending soon, so I'll get a little time real soon. I plan on addressing a number of members who are trying both my patience. Stay tuned for that.

Alright, here's the deal. People are not banned for a single offense unless that offense is particularly egregious, or displays their clear intent to continue to break the WRITTEN FORUM RULES. The majority of the poor receptions provided on this site come from new member attempting to prove their seniority by bashing members even newer than themselves. Backseat moderating is and has always been extremely erotic. People are warned, but it is almost impossible to eliminate without adding it to the list of punishable offenses, which would only serve to add to the strictness of which you all are complaining.

This site exists because of nerf, not the other way around. We as a community need to stop turning people away just because they don't follow the forum rules set before us.

This one, in particular, amuses me. It is true, this is a forum created to serve as a meeting ground for people interested in a preexisting hobby. Why does that command us to relax our standards? This was never intended to become the only place to discuss nerf. There are other sites for people with different tastes, and different tolerances for our rule set. I encourage you to find where you are most comfortable, and post there.

Now, I would not have banned this kid for his previous offenses so much as perhaps give him a cooloff period. But he, literally, asked for it in this thread. He apparently had emotional issues that stemmed from more than a nerf message board. This is not really the place to work those out. I'm pretty sure we'd only make that shit worse. It's better for eveyone involved this way. He'll be much happier alone in his candlelit room gelling his hair and listening to good charlotte.
