It looks like Famine and I will be coming to this thang (the 'a' makes it sassy). Make a "Sweet" list, and put us down there.

Oh, and we reserve the right to flake out, cause we're fucking old.

Fucking old..........what? Fucking old crumpled newspapers? Fucking old rotten fruit? What are you......oh shit. They were fucking old decommissioned artillery pieces again and got themselves killed. Why did you do it Vacc? why? Sure, the cannon may let you finish first, but what we had was real.

Is anyone in the DC area thinking of going to this? With Humans vs. Zombies stopped before I fired a shot, I need to get my Nerf on, but I'd be much happier carpooling since I get 16mpg.

Also, since I've never been to one of your fancy-schmancy NJ wars: do you guys have any approximation of how long this will last (if I'm driving 4 hours each way, I better be there for a while)? Obviously it's a wooded area, but will there be buildings/rocks/streams/any kind of heavy cover (don't have much long-range firepower... yet)? Are +bows allowed (no I don't have one, but I want to know if I'll be facing any)? And, just to make sure, you don't allow melee weapons (foam swords, buzzbee or LARP style), right?

I've read this thread and the Nerf War Ettiquette, so I hope I'm not asking any stupid questions.

Reasonable questions. I can't say anything about the carpooling thing, but I'm sure this will last until at least 5, which means 6+ hours of nerfing. No melee, +bows yes, Doomsayers - I'm pretty sure that's a no. This venue is great, a great balance between buildings, woods, and open areas.

The park is mainly trails, trees, and bushes. There is enough cover to let shorter-ranged weapons have a chance. The only building is a bathroom, and the small open-air pavilion where we leave our stuff. Homemade spring guns are allowed, homemade air-guns are not. The park closes at dusk, and in the winter, we can usually keep a war going until then. You'll have enough time to nerf to make the trip worth it. You are correct in assuming melee weapons are banned.

I really hope it doesn't rain for this war. I will be driving ~6 1/2 hrs. and almost 400 miles to get to this thing. I certainly don't mind the drive, but I would like to have an awesome day of nerfing in exchange for 16 hours worth of driving.

My +1 is looking like he's gonna have to go to his dad's that day (his parents are divorced). Take him off the list and if he shows up, hey, that will be one extra person.

Not looking too good on that front. The Weather Channel predicts Tom's River has a 60% chance of rain on the Thursday and Friday before the war ( can't see Saturday since it's only a 10-day forecast ).

Yeah, that's exactly why I'm worried about it raining, but who knows. It's still a while away and weather forecasters are known to be a little on the wrong side.

Alright guys, due to circumstances out of my control,(3 projects due the week after Thanksgiving) I will be unable to host this war. Instead I will partake in the amazing fun that is skipping my Thanksgiving break to study my ass off up at school.

At this point, the war is POSTPONED, until someone can take over

I have already talked to a couple people who I would trust with this task at my home field. At this point they are not definite, but if they can host, they will say so in this thread.

If they end up not being able to host, I apologize to you all. I will be holding Reckoning sometime in January, and since I'll be on break, that war will definitely happen.

What. the. fuck. I want this to go down. Time for a take over.

Edit:
Alright. This is still going to go down, same as before. LGLF will be hosting. No worries. And Phil has no excuse not to come, he lives a minute down the road. I'll be there, rain or shine (or snow), and so will he.

GankFEST '08. I never liked the old name anyway.

GankFEST 2008

Due to the sad, sorry state of the LCM, and Tyler bailing on his war, the LGLF will now be hosting this event. Same basic rules. Same location. Splitlip and I will definitely be coming regardless of weather or attendance, so this thing is definitely going down regardless of who bails. You can check the LGLF Blog for more info. You can also leave a comment in the blog to add yourself to the attendance list in addition to posting it here.

For the record: Langley was not one of the people I talked to, but he won't get nerfers banned from my home field, so I won't voice a complaint.

I'm taking down the postponement notice on the first post, but I am not putting fucking Gankfest up on this topic.
I'll still update attendance, as people post.

How about you don't, since you're not going to be there anyway. Just take it easy. We'll take it from here. Doesn't matter if you trust us or not.

Trust has nothing to do with it, just don't be a douche-weasel and try to bicker and squabble over an internet message board. Real life happens. Kuhlschrank was indeed nice enough to update the roster, after all.

Choose your words carefully, and carry on. That's all I'm going to say.
