California

Walnut HS
Location: Walnut, CA (SoCal, LA area)
Address: Walnut High School, 400 Pierre Rd, Walnut, CA
Directions: ????
Food/Attractions: ????
Description: The school is massive. It can be divided in a virtually innumerable number of ways for countless game types, including standard elimination, standard field CTF, as well as a number of new scenario-based game styles Bags and I have recently been working on. The cover is varied from light with plenty of running space clear through heavy terrain, including staircases to second story classrooms with long running balconies with clear views of the spaces below.
Across the street is Walnut Middle School, which is also an excellent large facility with similar capacity for variety. The last location is down the street and around the corner, at Snow Creek Park, a location which very easily lends itself to scenario and siege play. There is also a park adjacent to Walnut Middle School which we may play in as well.

Maryland

The Labyrinth (Beall Elementary)
Location: Rockville, MD
Address: 451 Beall Ave, Rockville, MD
Directions: ????
Food/Attractions: ????
Description: The Labyrinth, AKA Beall Elementary School, was selected as the new site for DCNOs in the Fall of 2007. It bears many similarities to Wayside Elementary and The Gauntlet, with an intertwining section of wooden walkways and ramps, portable classrooms, as well as open grassy fields. The venue gets its name from the many covered walkways that encompass the site that give it a very distinct dark, enclosed feeling.
Events: DCNO

The Gauntlet (Wayside Elementary School)
Location: Potomac, MD
Address: 10011 Glen Road, Potomac, Maryland 20854
Directions: ????
Food/Attractions: ????
Description: The Gauntlet, AKA Wayside Elementary School, was the site of the first DCNO and up until recently (due to large-scale renovations) has been the main venue for every DCNO thus far. The setup of the field offers a nice variety of close-quarters urban style combat with a mixture of open, grassy fields for longer range weapons. The venue gets its name from the network of wooden walkways and ramps that surround the portable classrooms, which allows participants to set up ambushes, crossfires, etc.

Tindall Park
Location: Middletown, NJ (Central Jersey, near the shore)
Address: Merkel Dr & Tindall Rd, Middletown, NJ
Directions: The Address above is less than 100 feet from the entrance on Tindall Rd.
From North:
Take Garden State Parkway to Exit 117 (Routes 35 and 36, Keyport/Hazlet). Pay toll and follow signs for Route 35 South. Take Route 35 South for approximately 5 miles (when the highway splits and you start to see a Mobil Gas Station, a Dunkin’ Donuts, and a garden supplies store on your left instead of northbound traffic, you are close). Take the jughandle for Twinbrooks Ave., your first after the highway split, and proceed onto Highway 35 North.
Stay in your right lane on Rt. 35 North and take the next jughandle, for Tindall Rd. (Middletown/New Monmouth). Veer to your right after the jughandle (if you crossed Rt. 35, you’re going the wrong way) and continue down Tindall Road. Tindall Park will be to your left, directly across from Middletown High School North. The driveway is in a U-shape, and we will be meeting by the mini-golf/playground in the center of the U.
From South:
Take Garden State Parkway to Exit 109 (County Route 520, Red Bank/Lincroft). After existing, go straight through the traffic light (Route 520) onto Half Mile Road. Proceed down Half Mile Road and make a right at the end of the road, West Front Street. Proceed down West Front Street, making a left at your next traffic light (Hubbard Ave.) You will see a school on your right, and you will make a right at the next traffic light (Navesink River Road). Follow Navesink River Road to your next traffic light, where you will make a left onto Rt. 35 Northbound.
Follow Rt. 35 for about three or four miles. When the highway expands from two to three lanes (a Wachovia bank and Spirits Unlimited liquor store will be on your right, along with a large scary clown), shift into your right lane and take the jughandle for Tindall Road (Middletown/New Monmouth). Veer to your right (if you crossed Rt. 35, you’re going the wrong way) and continue down Tindall Road. Tindall Park will be to your left, directly across from Middletown High School North. The driveway is in a U-shape, and we will be meeting by the mini-golf playground in the center of the U.
Food/Attractions:
Food:
For McDonalds/Pizza Hut: Make right out of Tindall Park and follow to Rt. 35. Make a right onto Rt. 35 and McDonalds and Pizza Hut will be right next to each other, less than a half a mile on your right.
For Burger King: Make right out of Tindall Park and follow to Rt. 35. Make a left onto Rt. 35 and Burger King will be less than one-tenth of a mile on your right.
For Valentino’s/Middletown Pizza: Make left out of Tindall Park and make a right at your next traffic light (Leonardville Road). Middletown Pizza will be one-quarter of a mile to your right and Valentino’s is just a bit further on your left. (Valentino’s is better, trust me).
Parents:
Parents driving players might be interesting in walking through Red Bank’s shopping district. Follow directions above for Burger King to Rt. 35 North, but stay on the highway for about three miles. You will cross a bridge into Red Bank. Proceed straight onto Bridge Ave. after first traffic light. Make a left at your next traffic light onto West Front Street. On Broad St. and Monmouth Ave. in Red Bank, there are many stores, restaurants, and other places to browse.
Directions to Sandy Hook (Gateway National Park): Sandy Hook is a 10 mile nationally protected stretch of beaches that is about half an hour away from Tindall Park (assuming moderate weekend beach traffic). Make a left out of Tindall Park onto Tindall Road. At the next traffic light, make a right onto Leonardville Road and follow it about 7-8 miles to its end (Highway 36 East). Yield onto Highway 36 East and follow it for another 7-8 miles. When you get to the drawbridge, get into your right lane; the exit for Sandy Hook is just after the bridge. Be prepared to pay $10 for your vehicle to enter if it is during the day and try to avoid Gunnison Beach unless you are interested in seeing the human body in all of its natural beauty.
Description: Tindall Park has a teamwork building obstacle course area right around the corner from the basketball court. It is an area where the brush has been cleared with lots of trees and equipment to use as cover, including a large climbing wall in the center. Be careful of ankle height steel cables. There are also several paths through the woods that can be accessed from behind the basketball court or from the paved path that goes past the tennis courts. The woods have lots of brush including poison ivy and thorn bushes, but may be usable in the winter and fall for larger groups, as long as you stick to the paths. The basketball area and the tennis area are also good for pistol matches.

Submitting An Entry
The format:

[u][size=2]Site Name[/size][/u] Name of park/school/cement foundry you're nerfing in.
[b]Location:[/b] City and state. Add region if city is obscure. Ex: Denton, Tx (Dallas Ft Worth area) or Middletown, NJ (Central Jersey)
[b]Address:[/b] Link to Google maps, plus an address or nearby intersection.
[b]Directions:[/b] Anything important that's not clear in the google directions, especially landmarks and details about the destination. Don't forget information about where to park and where to meet, if out of sight of the parking lot.
[b]Food/Attractions:[/b] Local pizza/sub shops within 10 minutes. Places for bored parents to chill.
[b]Description:[/b] What's different about your site? Is there more than one area to nerf in? Include pictures.
[b]Events:[/b] What events are held here on a regular basis?

Tips:
*Put your entry in code tags (button with the # symbol) so I can just copy paste it here without messing with BB code.
*Don't submit a place unless you've actually managed to host a war there, or you've got a war scheduled for that location.
*Feel free to post part of an entry, or an update to an existing entry.
*Make your description clear enough that someone could host a nerf war at your location without ever having to have been there before.
*Post pictures that show the terrain and interesting features of the location, not the group shot from The-End-Of-The-Goddam-World '04.

Everything above that hasn't been posted, aside from Tindall park, is taken from old planning threads, so if I already added your location, let me know what you want updated/added. I'm looking at you, Cali nerfers.

Added MA, MN, and MD today. Still need more CA and OH. Could use some help with Canada. Does anyone know where the Alabama nerfers used to nerf?

A list of places people nerf in OH and CA would be very helpful, if anyone is interested but doesn't want to do a full writeup.
