So i was exploring the new search members by location feature, when i realized there are quite a few of us in and around Rochester area. Would any of you be interested in attending a war/hangout? i think it could be really cool, especially if there were a lot of us. Let me know who would be interested and what a good time to do it would be.

I'm about 2 and a half hours from rochester so I definitely couldn't come regularly. But maybe sometime in the future if we could get the Binghamton area nerfers and the rochester area nerfers to do something together I think that would be cool. Theres about 10-15 of my friends who all play here.

I assume your talking about Rochester New York. If so there is a large HvZ crowd there so you should look into that.

I have alot of friends who go to RIT, from what I've heard their HVZ club doesn't allow almost any modifications to blasters. To me that would ruin about 75% of the fun.

Just because the club has no modifications allowed does not mean that there are no modified blasters, most of my arsenal is modified, Clarkson HVZ has the same rule. Personally I have two or three set aside specifically for zombies.

A nerf war is not within the realm of the HVZ club, which would negate that rule

You make a good point there. I'm transfering to Binghamton university next semester and I'm truly hoping they allow mods even within hvz itself. I understand that almost every college requires that stock darts be used only, but beyond that banning modified blasters annoys me.

The reason that they don't allow modding Is because of idiots, its easy to regulate a nerf war with 60ish people, but HVZ has (at least here) 200+ and they don't want stupid stuff like a singled titan. Even if they told everyone to check their guns with a moderator, there would probably still be somebody. Last semester we had a guy (completely unrelated to the game) running around with an airsoft pistol, it took campus security an hour to figure out where he was.

That kind of stuff is what they are trying to prevent by not allowing mods, its a preemptive strike on stupid people.

If you are willing to cross the border for a war.
We host wars every 2-3 months year round up here in Canada.
Would probably only be a 3 hour drive for ya.
Everyone who has traveled up here has said the wars and company are more than worth the trip.
Shoot me a pm if your interested in attending one this summer.

I don't get my kicks out of you,
I don't feel the way I used to do.
I know its bad,
After what we had,
But I’m just not the angel you knew.

Depending on what way you want to go around the lake, I will be hosting one in Kingston sometime in June. You can take a ferry across the border at Cape Vincent if you go this way, makes the drive that much more enjoyable, also there is practically no wait to cross the border.

I am interested in joining a nerf war in the Rochester area, or anywhere within a ~45min radius of Rochester. I am however, only in Rochester DURING breaks...not that I would have much time to go to wars while college is in session! Keep us informed of any new developments! Love the idea!

PS:  Let's not overestimate the amount of HvZ'ers at RIT that are into nerf enough to join a war...but it would be great if we had someone on the forum from RIT that could gauge the interest on campus!  Maybe someone could contact the head of the group that runs their HvZ, as they could certainly shed light onto the number of true nerfers on campus.  I may make an inquiry on such information with some friends who go there.

I live near the University at Buffalo, and we have quite a few Nerf enthusiasts here. If you run something in Rochester, we could probably send a few people over. I wish I'd read this last week; UBCon was last weekend, and as best we can tell, we have the biggest Nerf war around.

If you do hold anything in Rochester, please post it here or PM me and I'll see if I can get some people together. Given some notice, we should be able to scare up a couple dozen Nerfers.
