That was a hell of a show.
Recap:
+ Meeting: Ice Nine, Gears, Langley, Jlego, Crankymonky, Ambience, BabyGandhi, and a bunch of other people.
+ Getting to a war early for once.
+ Not getting ruinously dehydrated.
+ Louie's house was pretty chill the night before, thanks for housing us again.
+ Chaotic and derpy mod session right before I went to bed.
- Delaying our departure by about 40 minutes because I was disorganized. Traffic/Road conditions being nice made up for it.
+ Seeing all kinds of crazy crap on the road. A sheep exposed in the bed of a moving truck, a flying machine, and a WHOA sign just to name a few.
+ Making darts in the car was a super good idea (thanks 'Tron) and a really good use of time.
+ Finally seeing the Cancer Shack.
+ Nobody believing that BabyGandhi is in his mid-twenties. I myself wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't talked to him so much online in advance. Nonetheless, it was a bit of a shock.
+ Weather during the war was a great relief from the pouring rain we experienced at Louie's and on much of the freeway.
+/- The wind. It kept the bugs away and was a nice relief from the heat/humidity, but it also unbalanced the games. Oh well, tis nature's way.
+ Eating food with little to no nutrition for a few days.
- Sleeping on the floor at the hotel. We really got what we payed for (it was $40 a night total).
+ Inspiring some hilarious incidents at the party, particularly the calling of various people and Dean giving Phil a lapdance. Secret homosexual agenda? No doubt.
+ The LGLF telling awesome stories for much of the night. Fantastic group of guys, both to Nerf with and to hang out with.
+ The LGLF being the only people who consistently cared about putting in "effort" at the war.
- Feeling like how I imagine Beaver usually feels at wars (super exhausted and lethargic) only to find Beaver in a worse state than usual.
- All of my blasters either broke or malfunctioned. I learned a number of things about preparation the hard way as a result.
+/- Constantly switching guns all day with no considerable success until finally for the last round Gears lent me the Quixote. Twas a shame that it had simply sat in a car up until that point!
+ Pegging Gears more in the round where I used his own blaster than I had in any previous rounds.
- Landing a particularly painful shot on Langley with my 3K. In a true show of karma, my 3K broke soon after.
+ Hearing Beaver's political banter for much of the trip home.
+ Beaver prompting us to stop at a Goodwill in Wisconsin on the way home despite me saying it was a waste of time. I ate those words when I went in and grabbed a Splitfire for a mere 99 cents.
- Feeling like a dick for buying the Splitfire in front of the other guys despite finding it fair and square.
+ Asking Beaver tons of awkward questions and filming him at random times to try and get material for future episodes of "Ethics with Daniel Beaver".
+ Derek and I talking about The Room and tons of other bad movies on the way down.
- Getting very sunburned during the war. It's Nerf or nothing!
+ Listening to The Book of Mormon Soundtrack and a ton of other good stuff.
+/- The power inverter was a super handy....but then I left it at Louie's house. It was much less critical on the return trip, luckily.
+ Leaving school early for this.
- Not getting nearly enough videos/pics.
+ Drinking about 10 Arizona drinks in 3 days.
+ Peoples' reactions when I showed them BabyGandhi's photo at the after-party.
+ Being one of the few totally sober people by the end of the party.
+ Eating delicious expensive pizza.
+ The trip not costing as much as I expected.
+ Getting a swarmfire for free. Thanks Scoggins!
+ Beaver giving me a box of goodies to work on for him, including a Crossbow and Tornado.
+ Being less exhausted after the war than I was before.
+ Watching "The Plumbing Channel" in the hotel room.
+ Nerfing in Chicago for the first time in two years. The previous war I attended was child's play compared to this one!
+ Tons of people driving by the war and honking their horns, shouting, or stopping with looks of utter confusion on their faces.
+ "Kane looks like someone's mom."
+ Ryan, Kane, Cheerios (and family), and everyone else putting on an awesome war and a fantastic after party. Hope to make it back again soon!

The Difference:
-Guns shoot bullets that kill people
-Blasters shoot darts that tag people

I do not play with guns.

Here's some pictures. I'm still too tired to think (I haven't really gotten more than a few hours of sleep a night since the war), but I'll do one of those +/- recap thingies eventually.

If anyone wants to see why JLego is magic, go to 2:42.

Thanks, everyone, for posting pictures. Really great to see that.

Unholy Three: DUPLUM SCRTA, DUPLUM PROBLEMA (2009)

But Zeke guns tend to be like proofs by contradiction

Theoretically solid but actually non-constructive
