The previous mods for this blaster that I have seen seemed rather......stupid. Things like crayola barrels and bad quality pictures are just not good in my mind. Now, onto the mod:

I got this at a Dick's Sporting Goods store for $20 +tax. Much better deal than online. The first one I got leaked, but I swapped it back and got a good one.

Here is the stock gun:

It has a pretty awesome double locking breach. But sadly, it would most likely be difficult to make it work for nerf. So I decided to remove it completely. I cut of the ends of the breach slot like so, so I could remove the entire front part.

Initially, I cut off just the very end of the black part, like this.

But I realized, to reduce deadspace I should cut it down more. Here's where I marked it to be cut, about 3/4" away from the edge of the buttons:

I sanded out the ridges inside the tube. They are on both sides.

I then cut a 1/2" PVC coupler in half, wrapped it in E-tape, and gooped it into the black part.

I let that dry for 24 hours. Here is the end product compared to a NF and FF.

Oh and by the way. Don't mess witht he buttons on the black part. I pushed them both down, and the valve exploded. I was lucky, I found all of the necessary parts though (even though the workshop was a mess).

Ranges: The MAX I could get from this was about 100 feet flat with stefans. For some reason it shoots ball really well, like 50 feet with a really basic barrel. It's a tricky gun, I must say. It usually takes like 10 pumps. That's when the OPRV usually kicks in.

I would've tried to keep the front grip and the breech, but good job none the less.

It may not matter, since you're not using it, but for the benefit of others - there's no need to cut the breech part. Just push in both buttons and slide it off.

I'll get back to mine eventually, and take better pictures for the internals thread. It is a different type of valve than any other I've seen.

Yeah, I wish I had realized that earlier. I didn't realize I could push in the buttons until right before the valve exploded. I'm sure it wou;dn't be too difficult to rebuild the part I cut off with epoxy putty or something.

I must say the stock gun has a really nice look to it and any mod that can shoot 100 ft is always worth its weight. Maybe its just me but that long handle screams 'integration.'

Crooked: Did you see that guy who singled a doomsayer?

Pearson: Why would you single a doomsayer? Thats like taking a Ferarri and putting family seating in it.

Because This is all a competition, right?

Anyway, Venom that's one fine looking gun there. What ranges were you getting stock, with Marshmallows?
