Hi Everyone.

I've noticed that there seems to be lacking of a Chicago suburb based Nerf outing group (last few I've found via much searching on the net was last actively posting events in late 2011/early 2012). I know that groups on Facebook have become popular (such as Nerf Modders Welcome and Nerf Buy Sell Trade) and was hoping to utilize the social networking website to help draw in new blood to the sport and get some locals to the area to dust of their blasters and come out for some Nerf Wars this spring and summer of 2015. I'm actively seeking volunteers to help co-host and organize events and have plans to start a community dart bucket to be used at stock ammo events. I ideally would like to have a solid group of regulars meetings bi-monthly with room for guests and out of state interested participants. If the group could grow to 30 or more people there could be much fun to be had. I'm also toying with ideas for some new game types to bring a new level of interest to Nerf and what can be done with blasters and foam melee weapons.


All confirmed wars will be mirror posted on Nerf Haven with approval of the admins here but also the group has officially launched on Facebook:

The southwest burbs of Chicago, IL offer some beautiful and large open areas and wooded preserves accessible to the public that would be ideal for Spring / Summer Nerf. I look forward to posting some events in the near future.

This thread will be utilized in the future for the posting of NERF WARS in the Chicago Suburbs (to be mirror posted in the facebook group: Southwest Chicago Suburban Nerf Wars).

If you do host some wars, please cross-post them to NH. There are a lot of Chicago, WI and IN nerfers in the area who don't have Facebook.

Also, take care if you host wars in public parks - the suburb cops are fucking assholes.

As stated in my initial post, all wars will be posted on both Nerf Haven and in the Facebook group. As for the suburban cops comment... I am one of them and I assure you, I'm not an ***hole See you on the battlefield!

(note: no offense taken, but please don't let a few bad experiences sour you on all police officers)
