This war will mark the beginning of the Nerf season in MN!

Hear this now: this war WILL NOT be canceled.  If it looks like just me showing up I will be there by my own sweet self.  THIS is my commitment to you.

WHEN: Sat March 24th, 9:00 AM till 4:00PM
WHERE: Newell Park, St. Paul

Directions:

Game schedule -
-Grinding of the Meat!
-360 DTC/Defend the Tower
-Recue the Princess/CTF
-Carpe
-Mario Kart
-Territories

What to bring
-Water, and high protein/carb snacks for quick energy
-At least two blasters you consider “primary” because one will break, the other will fail, and I only have so many loners.
-Bring a pistol: one of the Territories rounds will be very close-quarters.  BTW a 'pistol' does not have an Ace #49 in it.
-Eye protection: no exceptions. None, not one, not for anyone.
-Slug or stock ammo

What NOT to bring
-ANY air gun more powerful than a UMB (and those better have the stock oprv) that shoots one round at a time EVEN if they have hoppers or RSCB’s.  Unless you have crazy shotgunning attachments a la VelveetaAvenger I don’t want to see 4B's, Titans, or anything else like it.
-Totes and toes of crap: What you NEED and what you PLAN TO TRADE. There will be no surprises to what games we play so plan accordingly.
-Glue dome ammo.
-You all know what else does not fly, PM me with questions and I will answer honestly and fairly all inquiries.

MELEE RULES!
There are two and ONLY TWO forms of melee allowed:
1) Un-modified bone-stock pool noodle with a max length of 2’.
2) Target dollar spot melee.  THIS stuff.

SHIELD RULES!
Yeah, Ima go ahead and open this fat greasy can of worms and allow shields. As with melee there are some VERY specific rules that are to be observed:
1) Shields MUST be affixed, actually stuck on, to the TOP of your blaster like a Manta.
2) Shield constriction material is LIMITED TO ONE OF THE FOLLOWING
A. Toy or costume shield props (Stonewall shield, Captain America licensed merchandise, ect)
B. Toy blaster shells of any make or model (Nerf, Buzz Bee, Super Soaker, ect) positioned as a Manta would be ie split in half and side by side.
C. Mantas and Manta imitations like Venom's awesome build in the homeade thread.
3) Shield size is limited to ABOUT THAT that of a Manta: there is some give and take here, but I don't see this being an issue if the previous rules are met.  Otherwise I will make a judgment call and modify the rules for next time.

Here is a quick visual guide:

The Difference:
-Guns shoot bullets that kill people
-Blasters shoot darts that tag people

HELL YES! I will be there!

Funny thing is, last night I dreamed you had hosted another war. And it gave me an idea for a homemade :D

Edit: This gives me an excuse to get my PayPal working. I need to get a Wildfire.

When you make the full post, could you actually post a location, I do not know where your last war was, but may be interested in coming.

Forsakenangel: Wow, 7 posts and only 2 of them have to do with the topic.
Go Nerfhaven!
Langley: I'm sorry we went off topic in your thread about exploding Easter bunnies. We'll try to do better next time.

I actually vote for a different location, but we have to solve a series of riddles and clues, each more intricate then the last, to find it!

Sounds like a fun time. I'll have to mark the calendar.

Any new restrictions on airguns?

This war will feature new classics, and stray in to most taboo and controversial areas of our hobby.

Naked Nerf?

Added to the Schedule. Please post in the schedule thread next time, thanks.

I'm gonna be there somehow. I'm getting sick of being such a flake for these things.

You should totally bring that JSPB, I wanna see it. I'll be bringing my 'WASP' JSPB to show off, but I'm pretty sure it's waaay too powerful for practical use.

Oh my DAMN is that a good feeling to see positive response!

There are no NEW restrictions on air blasters from the last Ween War: JSBP's are fine if muli barreled or shooting large ammo.

@Langford: thanks.

I'll bring it along. I've been working on a new main barrel for it, my old one was jamming alot. The new one seems to be much more reliable and far more accurate- it's got a nice bevel on the starting lip to help load, then is tapered outwards and ported for the last 3 inches, which seems to give some improved accuracy. Now what used to be over-pressurising doesn't make the darts spin out of control. And yeah, very very powerful. Too powerful. :) Now I just need to add my tacticool rail and sight and paint it and it'll be one freaky cool nerf blaster.

I also made a tri-barrel shotgun attachment for mine so I can still use it. Eats ammo like a fat kid eating popcorn.

EDIT: How would you like to paint mine up for me, EIK? Your paint work is superlative.

Newell Park is well worth the drive. That being said, we need to make sure that we'll be able to actually use it the day of the war. When the weather is nice, it's always ridiculously packed. Setting up base on the opposite side of the park from the pagodas has helped to distance us from other park-goers. Nonetheless, if the weather is too nice, we probably won't have space to nerf anywhere. Just something to keep in mind in the days leading up to the war.
