After:Posted Image
Modifications:
Sanded and polished aluminum on aluminum interfaces
Added adhesive-backed Teflon to side plates beneath pump rods
Added metal spacers to side plates to serve as guides for the pump rods
Added dense foam to stock plate
Replaced cracked 1/8" Polycarb on pump handle with extended 1/4" piece (will accommodate a pistol-grip)
Replaced damaged wooden handle with a solid handle made of a mysterious polished butterscotch-like material
Replaced crude hotglue spacers in plunger rod with epoxy putty
Replaced spring, added bushing to plunger rod to keep spring centered and prevent contact with plunger rod.
Cut slot into threaded rod to allow for easier adjustment with flat head screwdriver.
Beveled and sanded polycarb handle pieces.
Allowed to sit in JLego's basement over night to absorb it's magical essences

Here is my +bow that I built. Inspired by Jlego's +bow:
Posted Image
This baby is rock solid:

Posted Image

Posted Image
Sporting a breech chopper:
Posted Image

As I said this baby is rock solid. I used this at the last Effeminate 2.3 war and I barely used my sidearms. For those who Nerf with me know that I use sidearms quite a bit. The overall length of the +bow is about 6 or 7 inches smaller then a full size +bow. I have always loved +bows but I always hated how big they are. Trying to run around with a blaster that is close to or is over three feet can be awkward.

Things done:

Shortened plunger tube

Shortened stock

3/4" foam added to stock for comfort

Polycard bracket added to the inside of the stock and connects to the handle for stability

Every single piece has been sanded to perfection and wet sanded for the matte look

Extension spring added to the trigger

Skirt seal

There is a rubber cork in the middle of the skirt seal to keep the skirt from warping from use

3/8 PVC rod is used as the plunger rod

Bushing gooped in place so there is no air loss

[k26] spring used. Cut down to accommodate the shortened plunger tube

Two 6/32 screws screwed into the back of the plunger tube to help absorb some of the force

Instead of having 1/8 polycard for the stock I put 1/4. Much sturdier

Replaced the back side pieces with 1/4 polycard instead of the traditional 1/8

3/4" black nylon for the top part of the stock. No more messing your face up when trying to aim

1/2" black delrin for the bottom part of the stock

Wye is bolted in place as with the whole chopper set up so it doesn't wiggle around when running

Chopper is breech loading. Breech consists of 5/8 ID and 3/4 OD polyester tubing with a small piece of delrin shoved into a piece of 1/2 5/8 OD and put into the back of the chopper and bolted in place

The chopper sheath is 3/4 ID ( I forget the OD of this one ) polyester tubing which slides back and forth to cover the dart loading slot

Overall This is my favorite blaster that I have ever owned/built. It took me a month of on and off working on it but it was well worth the pay off.
Ranges are still awesome even with the shortened plunger tube and a chopper. I'm hitting 100'-115' with ease. I had a couple of darts go to the 130'.

Made Carbon's SNAP/Revolution , downsized a bit. 9/16" x 6" x .072 spring with 4" draw. Hits 60 feet with my test barrel and a 3-foot long hopper. Forgot to lube after cleaning the plunger tube with water so ranges are pretty bad.
Posted Image

Primes easier than my crossbow and gets better ranges, though doesn't look nearly as intimidating. Ease of priming is mainly due to the superior pump grip.
I love the easy customization of spring loads, .41 gauge spring I used before could barely push the plunger. This spring's a bit too strong for the games I play unless I shotgun load.

Bolt's pulled back as far as it goes - I left the extra PVC for the stock. If you want a smaller pump-action blaster this is awesome. And yes, it's very easy to disassemble for on-field repairs/power adjustment.

Travel Cost to TRU = $2. Eliminator pack = $15. Momentum testing = 2 lost darts. Outranging Recons with your mini pistol = priceless.

I've been meaning to post this for a while...
I finished up the first "production" aluminum 2K tank, and it works quite nicely. Currently, it's in Lucian's AT2K.

Yeah, that's a lot of JB weld. I REALLY didn't want it leaking.

Oh, and I made a video of the machining process for these (Warning, it gets quite boring around 2:00):

SGN-8T, Americanized. 1/2" PVC rings around 3/4" coupler for middle. 3/4" PVC is the axle. sanded the front barrel spacer's coupler so that it turns smoothly. used what was left of the coupler as the holder. Still needs PETG barrels.

Not a weapon, but a mobstacle frame. I still need to add tarp sides.

Posted Image

Made from PVC EMT, hence the bell ends. They're also UV resistant, and a bit cheaper than PVC from plumbing at Home Depot. 5' per side, so it's big enough for a person to crouch behind, but not to 'stand and deliver'. Loops at each corner for tent stakes, so it doesn't become a sail or kite.

Collapses to 2.5' lengths of pipe for easy transport.

Posted Image

Costs me $8 for parts, 15 minutes to assemble, a minute to collapse and another minute to deploy. However, all the loose rope can easily become a Gordian knot, so it will have to be packed carefully.

RBP Rev2 Plunger rod.

Posted Image

I've moved away from using the traditional 1/2" Nylon and cutting out a notch. The reason for this is when moving to the Rev2, the slots in the back were eliminated. I figured the string stop would align the plunger rod enough to work, but every once and a while, the plunger rod would magically rotate out of place causing the blaster to not catch anymore. So I figured it was time to design a multi-directional catch notch. Kane actually gave me the idea initially, and I went with it. First I tried using 3/8" rod, with 3/8" x 1/2" tubing over that. This initially worked fine, worked all of Apoc, and then I started noticing problems with it not catching. I'm not surprised in the first place because 1/16" isn't much room to catch, even for the Rainbow catches. In the final version, I used 1/4" aluminum rod, with 1/4" x 1/2" polycarbonate tubing nested over. At the end of the polycarb tube is where it actually catches. I did a drop test while primed and it still stayed caught after dropping it from waist level on concrete (even though part of the pump tube broke(small problem being addressed)).

Posted Image

Posted Image

In this design, the plunger head is "floating". The rod doesn't go through the length of the plunger head to allow for the air to vent through through the plunger head when priming, thus eliminating vacuum loading, the number one problem with misfeeds in hoppers. In later iterations, I plan on extending the tube near the front, and pouring silicone RTV in the void for my flap valve. This will be easier to do and will result in a perfect seal everytime.

Posted Image

The last important thing to mention is I think I'm moving away from the string stop. Instead, I'm going to add a couple (or few) of these rubber grommets between the end of the pump tube, and the piece of Sch. 80 it pushes on to prime. I will do a bit more testing on this to make sure I'm not ruining other parts of my blaster when dry firing it.

My finished Pumpsnap. Credit goes to Beaver for the superb design. sports a homemade hopper and a custom stained wood grip. Took me forever to get the thing up to snuff. Brought it to the last Socal war and was super disappointed that it wasn't getting the same range it was getting during testing. Upon inspection after the war, I discovered why. Apparently it sucked a dart out of my hopper and into the PT. Guess I'll have to give it another chance.

This thing is so ungodly long and unwieldy I was referring to it as my Lance the whole day. Because of this, I decided to name it Don Quixote.

So, handles didn't work out quite as I expected. Between the three different kind of resins that I used, every single handle broke from just dropping it on the weakest part, from waist level. While the resin is really strong in large, thick quantities, the thinner sections shear pretty easily. Ice9 gave me the idea I should add side plates like I did with the wooden handles, to help distribute the force away from the weak sections. Seems like it works perfectly. I did the drop test, threw it up in the air, smashed it against the ground, and it still holds up.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Requires a little extra work, but those side plates literally take 3 minutes to make. This is still a much quicker and more consistent method of making handles, since I still save at least half the time and effort that it took to make the wooden handles.

Plunger rods are also done. The flap for the flap valve is now just some silicone RTV. This makes it much easier to get a perfect seal, and just to do in the first place.

More to come soon, these should be coming together in the next week.

Snap EL mk-2
Posted Image

This is an altered version of a snap, my style. andtheherois's snap was my first snap I've ever built. i changed somethings i didn't like about his design (in my opinion) and this is what it turned out to be. My style trigger (not sure if has been done, its a polycarb trigger), and a plunger with a [k26] and [k25] inside. I did not like the piston as it created much more friction and disabled the ability to use a spring with a higher constant. The only way to install a [k26] would be to use either an extremely small piston, or a plunger. the PVC over the stalk is the priming slide.

Description: Snap style homemade
Ammunition: 1/2'' slugs
Operation: Priming slide
Propulsion: compression spring([k26]+[k25])
Magazine: hopper, rscb clip
Mag capacity: depends on Mag.
Overall length: 30''
barrel length: 11''
max range: 120 ft.
effective range: 80 ft
accurate range: 70 ft
Intended use: long range (reload speed not too great, hard to prime)
