Guys, I am trying to figure out how to rig up a hopper for my Nutcracker (Modded Nitefinder).
This is the blaster.

I know, some of you have seen this and have dissed on it. In response, I play Pewdiepie quote: "I don't care!"

I'm thinking about rigging up some sort of inline hopper, like Muttonchops' "Chopper". Would this work, or should I do a more traditional hopper?

A little help, please!

A Nite Finder doesn't have the volume required to use a hopper, unless maybe if it was really short. It could probably use an RSCB, though- I've seen Jolts with those.

IF you make it a nite finder rifle, it could definitely use a hopper, even though it would be a little bit larger.

I was planning on making a relatively short Hybrid hopper that combines elements of the hopper with some from the BRISC.

This would be a pistol, just one that could crank out a few more darts than the stock blaster before I would have to reload.

Nightfinders have nowhere near the required volume to run a hopper. Other blasters with larger plungers which also cannot hopper:
  • Big Bad Bow
  • Longshot
  • Firestrike
  • Defender T3

Traditional hoppers won't work for sure, but I've seen people claim to get "DMK" wyes working with Nitefinders, and I've personally gotten them to work with stock BBBs.

A DMK wye (darth-maker kane?) is based on a shotgun hopper that I posted (which was obliterated by Imageshack), and first scaled down for low volume blasters by darth maker. I don't know where to find a thread or a picture, but it's made out of 1/2" CPVC or copper fittings. The basic design is

Magazine
.............Tee
45elbow............45elbow Barrel

\
..\
....\
...../\
----.....---

The magazine and barrel are limited to 5/8" OD, which is fine for the barrel (just use a short piece of cpvc), but limiting for the magazine. I used funky nylon tubes from mcmaster, and I think darth maker used brass.

Does anyone have a link or a pic for these?

Thank you so much.

Both the T and the front 45 elbow were cut down to accommodate the length of my darts (~1.25"). If your darts are a bit longer this may not be necessary. I think Darth Maker's version actually used a 1/2" PVC tee, and stuffed the OD of the CPVC 45 elbows into the ID (sockets) of the PVC T.
