Ol' Painless

Video:

Posted Image

if you are planning on modding one of these bad boys, use this tutorial:
http://nerfhaven.com...?showtopic=9845

It's literally as in depth as it could be, and without it I could have never made Ol' Painless

At any rate

First a few new things in the mix

The bar with the half cup shaped thing on it, you know, the one that makes the turret move?
the hook it's spring hangs against snapped off, at no surprise because it was so terrible.

So to fix this problem, get some epoxy putty and put that thing on there for good
Posted Image

Be careful not to hinder it useless, make sure it's flush with everything and always check to see that it'll still slide with no problems.

next, epoxy putty'd trigger with spring replacement
Posted Image

I wrapped my putty slightly into the triggers holes so it wouldn't ever snap off

Main springs, revamped plunger head using cut up nerf ball
Posted Image

BBB Spring, LS spring, Stock Spring

I've heard it's a recipe for disaster ( hook that clings to trigger snaps, sometimes the hook on the trigger snaps)
I won't showboat, but I've been modding for years, so if it ever broke, I'd fix it easily, so if you don't want to ever deal with trying to fix it, I'd go with the just 2 of the springs I used.

Here's my cocking bar, I ground it down smooth as to not nic and scratch the putty on my trigger
Posted Image

Improving seal. I used a o-ring, super glued it on, and then put hot glue in the dead space, and flattened it with the side of my glue guns metal tip thing
Posted Image

10 inch barrels, nothing special here
Posted Image

silencing (I don't have any pictures, but any part of this gun that could have silencing done to it, I did it)
Posted Image

Finally, put a decent, simple, and brutal paint job on this fucking monster

I didn't forget the dual rear loading either

this is dremel in deep and painted

While Im not a big fan of the name written on the gun, I really like the color you chose. It goes nice with the black.

It's the same color as my favorite Power Armor in Fallout 3

I for one think the name is a nice touch, especially how its on their physically instead of just painted on. I may do that to one or two of my guns. I like the paint too, its nice to see some new colors on the PAS/RFS. Nice mod.

Do be careful, don't wanna actually drill a hole into the gun, it'd be really easy and upsetting to do that. haha

And thanks

I think it's cool how you put the number of kills on the gun.

Do you have ranges?

Sure is.

Personally I prefer Lincoln's Repeater.

Sooth! yeah thats lookin pretty sweet! So are you liking that spring combo or does it wear your arm out cocking it over and over? After few dozen shots my arm has gotten a workout. And yeah sounds like you are getting about the same ranges I am with the same combo.

Nah I work out like a mother fucker everyday, so it's not bad at all, I enjoy cocking this beast (HURR HURR SIG'D)

And yeah, with a good dart I can get about 110ft, with a bad dart 85ft or so.

It's a great combination of springs for power, just risky cause you might end up destroying your gun's catches

Thats really nice. I have never seen that color used before so I think that is really cool. And I never realized that the letters and such were engraved until someone mentioned it. Very cool gun.

Am I the only one who thinks VACC would be the guy with the huge glasses in Predator?
Y'know, the one who tells the naughty stories?

Anyway, Sooth, I love the PJ.

FA24 would definitely be the indian who just stares daggers every time he tells a joke until the end.

And thanks, it's so simple, but it's my favorite one I've done yet, and I've done some in-depth paint jobs haha

Congratulations of being able to fire this without destroying the plunger rod with all those springs. I used exactly the same spring combo in the one I just finished, and the entire back part of the plunger rod (the whole catch part) broke off. If yours breaks in the same way that mine did, you won't be fixing it without getting a new plunger rod. That also leads me to a question. Does yours prime smooth or do the springs bind up when it gets almost back to the catch? The pump on mine would pull back smoothly until it got back near the catch, and then the springs bound up together and it very hard to fully prime.

I don't know what to tell you other than you've done something wrong or bought an unlucky gun. From the sounds of it, I'm sorry to inform you, but yes, I could still fix that. I don't want to sound like a cocky asshole, but I assure you, I could fix it. I didn't have the bounding problem either. I'm not sure why it happen to you, other than saying that you put them in wrong, or I dunno. Use less springs next time I guess. I've shot my doomsayer an excess of 500 times since I finished it, and I still have no problems. I really don't know what to tell you.
