Sorry for the bad quality, I had to get these off my camera phone.

The 6 barreled piece is held by 2 orange plastic pieces connected by a metal rod, after unscrewing the 6 screws on the top and bottom of the cylinder you can go ahead and pull the two parts apart to get rid of the poles.

In the stubs seen there, it looks like 9/16" brass might fit inside if you sand a little bit.

Hope this helps.

aside from that grotesque color scheme, this is definitely the coolest sidearm nerf has brought out in a while... gonna go get one today. and paint it black.

How easy or hard do you figure it would be to modify the gun to have the revolving dealy (forgot the name) come out farther, so a quick-loader sort of deal could be used?

Why did they ever even consider this 'reverse plunger' method... so lame.
The gun is nice though.

No kidding, Is the plunger any bigger then the scouts? I hope so because it's already goign to lose air from the rotating.

For a quickloader, It could be possible that those 2 gray pegs you see under the firing cylinder could be cut off though you might have to figure out some way for the gray pieces on the front and back of the cylinder to stay firm onto the gun until you detach.

EDIT: By quickloader, did you mean a piece that loads 6 darts into the cylinder at once? You won't be able to do that since the grey plate on the front of the cylinder which holds it to the gun will block some barrels. To get it out futher, I think you might be able to sand some ridges on the grey plates which limit how far it slides out.

Spring is about 2-3 inches long.
Also, this gun cannot fire from the titan by pressing the button like the scout.

Im not planning on messing around with mine too much since my parents won't buy another if this breaks. I'm a bit concerned since the barrels dont seem very airtight due to the fact that theyre in 2 parts and the top barrels are a little bit loose. Crayolas might work well for this gun since the plunger design is going to make it as useful with brass as a scout.

The cylinder moves, instead of a piston.

When you cock the gun, the plunger tube moves back. The plunger rod is actually the barrel, with a hole in the plunger head...When the plunger tube goes forward, the air is pushed through the whole, since the plunger head is airtight...just look at the scout picture internals if you dont understand.

I like the design. Its more air efficient, and requires little/no reinforcement. The only problem is that it would be impossible to implement the design into a rifle...it would be way too big.

Crude paint drawing but it works.

The dark red is the plunger tube and the red is the plunger. When you pull the cocking slide on the outside of the gun back, it pulls the plunger tube. The bottom picture is what it looks like cocked, and the blue stuff inside is air. When you pull the trigger, the tube moves forward and pushes the air through the hole in the plunger, which goes out the barrel.

I think they used this design because it's easier to use that with the slide cocking system.

Cool pics. T-D happy now. ^_^

Think you could wedge an NF plunger and tube into it? It'd rock if you could.

The spring looks less powerful than the NF spring...

Those are some pretty sweet graphics for a camera phone.

I get the feeling they did the whole reverse plunger thingy just to say that they did.

I prolly won't invest in this thing unless it gets +50 feet consistently. Good luck.

I sent Falcon a PM on how he was able to change the barrels and keep the cylinder, but he hasn't responded yet. I couldn't figure it out.
It looks like the safest thing to do unless you're planning on barrel replacement is to drill out the air restrictors from the bottom without opening the guy up. The barrels are kinda funky(the air restrictors make some kind of seal with the stock barrels before you open it up) and one shot I did couldnt get out of the barrel.

That's exactly what I did. If I wasn't clear, its that the part of the barrel where the dart fits is loose in the middle of the cylinder and before you open it I think they are aligned.

No, actually, NERF has been doing that with its past 2 pistols (Scout, Maverick) because it conserves space and eliminates the need to have a big rod coming out of the back of the gun. It is for aesthetics and not performance.

I don't have a problem with short barrels on pistols as long as the fit is tight enough, it makes for faster loading than having to ramrod.

That's got to be angled with the tiny air volume in this thing.

Anybody confirm with accurate flat ranges?

Thanks for the pic though.

Is the plunger tube approximately the same size as the scout? It looks like it, but I'd like confirmation.

Guys, my bad, finally got to finding his post again.

WEll, stock, it was about five to ten feet over that of a stock scout. Modded, I removed the restrictors in the turret, but when it was reassembled, the darts wouldn't leave the barrel. I realized, that removing the retrictors left a gap between the barrels and the air input tube at the back of the revolver. So, I plugged that up with FBR (will eventually use bondo) and I haven't gotten a measuring tape out, but I estimate the new ranges at about 48-56 feet, slightly angled. Pretty good, considering you can pop off six shots as fast as your two hands can move. One hadn on slider, the other on the trigger, cock fire cock fire cock fire cock fire cock fire cock fire. That't it. Simply beautiful.

Thanks for finding that.

48-56' slightly angled and unmeasured equals precisely nothing.

I'll pick one up this week if I get a chance.

With a little 17/32 nested, I get 49.2 feet flat on 15 shots. It's okay, I guess.

How does the reverse plunger conserve space? Forward or backward the plunger tubes and shafts are going to be the same length cocked for the same amount of air. (at the same plunger diameter) All the reverse method does is put the moving part outside the stationary part, making that sliding cocking method possible.

Thirst, a reverse plunger "rifle" would be great, because you could make it cock with a pump action pretty easily.

Edit: okay, so the plunger could also be the barrel, but hasbro extends the barrel so ultimately it doesn't matter on the scout or the maverick. So hasbro's backward plunger guns aren't any shorted than they would be if they were forward.
