#96675 Google Patent Search!

Posted by Viper on 16 December 2006 - 05:06 PM in General Nerf

Hasbro, Mattel, Larami, buzz bee, johnson research etc. would all be adequate search queries. Try inventor names like Lonnie Johnson and others that you see.

#87332 Long Shots In Mi

I live in Milford, MI I'll check next time to see if they're in stock in my area. Thanks

#85561 Co2 Powered Gun

Posted by Viper on 23 July 2006 - 05:00 PM in Homemades

Co2 is overkill in the nerf arena. I tried several concepts, they all worked, although suffered from breaking the darts in half and many times sending the weight of the dart into my drywall. I wouldn't reccomend co2 for nerf use as its a dirty and inconsistant power supply. It will make the darts fly, but I could just hook up my air compressor to shoot a nerf dart 400 feet if I wanted to.

#83152 Psp Or Xbox 360?

Posted by Viper on 11 June 2006 - 10:24 PM in Off Topic

360 easy. 360 has a far better game lineup and upcoming software applications that are amazing. If I was going to buy a handheld it would be the DS.

#81656 How To Send A Package Through Mail?

Posted by Viper on 10 May 2006 - 08:13 PM in Off Topic

I thought the online thing through USPS was a pain to get set up so I just either walk at my college down to the post office or drive down there when I'm at home.

#80993 Franklin Battle Max

I'd just buy a blade or something similiar and modify it to shoot nerf balls or those balls. If you have the money go for it.

#74931 Nerf Warehouse

Posted by Viper on 02 March 2006 - 04:16 PM in General Nerf

The lady who sells the crossbows stated she got hers from a toy liquidator. Wasn't there something with 200 PC's being sold wholesale through MANIAC or something? I personally know a man that used to work for Kenner back in the day and he stated that he could pick up easy bake ovens that were dented or just there for nothing at all. Toys are so cheap to manufacture that they get lost in the distribution channel unlike cars and houses etc. If he doesn't know the number or the location then there might as well not be a nerf warehouse, but if any of you guys find something similiar let us know.

Here's something not very close but what you are actually likely to find:

#68288 Xbox 360 Is Out Of Hand

Posted by Viper on 25 November 2005 - 08:16 PM in Off Topic

Well I must say its defineately worth the $399. It performs integer operations in half the time it takes the PS3, which comprise 85% of the operations. The PS3 does Floating point operations twice as fast but FLOPS only comprise 15% of the instructions. Blu-ray disks will be harder to manufacture and take more time due to need to retool all the machines. Blu- ray disk players will start out at $1200-$800, so the many people who are speculting that the PS3 could be as much as $600 when it first releases may be right. I think the company that will really do well is nintendo. Their controller is very unique and enables unique capabilites in ceratain, games, the system is portable and very powerful, and if they unleash an online database of old nintendo games I could see where they would have a good foothold on the market.

#68240 Xbox 360 Is Out Of Hand

Posted by Viper on 25 November 2005 - 01:38 AM in Off Topic

Microsft spends $525 per xbox on hardware alone. You get it for $399, that not bad. My stepfather is a parts supplier for the xbox, his company designed the removable harddrive and parts in the controller.

#68170 Good Platform For Cluster Pc's?

Posted by Viper on 23 November 2005 - 09:09 PM in Off Topic

What is a computer deal right now or server deal for like 5-10 pc's for folding@home? Of course I'd love to get a quad core G5 or an intel itanium computer, but I want the best bang fro the buck.

I love airsoft, but I really don't get the point of this topic? Nerf and airsoft are like apples and pears. Paintball isn't too much fun and is prohibitively expensive.

#67271 New Google Group:nerf Guns

Posted by Viper on 07 November 2005 - 12:34 AM in General Nerf

I never said that it would make nerf mainstream just by setting up a group! I merely stated that we could use people searching groups for nerf through the popular google website. What homework are you speaking of doom? It takes litterally seconds to start a google group. Its not some fucking massive scale internet startup. Chessler has already asked if he could post something and I'm sure we'll get some decent discussions on it. Its just another option for nerfers to discuss topics on. I don't think now that we'll have hoards of people, people still search nerf on google and find nerfhaven, so .... I have another project under development that I could see iniate more people to the nerf-type forums.

I just want to thank earl the bunny, boltsniper, and snaped for sticking with us and putting up good numbers while many remain inactive and have since stopped folding. We only have 27 active members guys, so I am certain that nerfhaven has a ton more potential than we are currently tapping.

I'm trying to get Western michigan onboard, but have so far become unsuccessful. I'll hopefully be adding another processor soon. We're still gaining and our rank will increase but many teams are starting to pass us up too.

Nerf Had a rocket launcher from the 1970's( One of those stomper thingies). I've already discussed my view on the matter of TeamNC's view of pictures.

#62875 Nerfers Nerfing Disease

Posted by Viper on 01 September 2005 - 05:03 PM in Off Topic

I've been sending email after email for Wester Michigan University to get involved in the project but they seem to have little interest. I already mentioned our areas struggling economy that yo-yo's with manufacturers layoff's in down economic times and how interest in biotech resulting from a relationship with stanford's folding@home project would change Kalamazoo's economic landscape for the far better. I mentioned a ton of other advantages in just about every area inlcuding the fact that it would cost the university nothing compared to what it costs to run the blow-dryers and microwaves in every dorm. I'm going to talk to my Biology of cells and molecules teacher to see what he says about it and see if I can leverage his power to change the university's policy and that I could install the program on all of WMU's computers. Any other ideas besides the fact I also showed them how a group of less than 1/100th computers can pass up harvard?

I fnished a 2600 frame WU about as quick as a 600 frame. Stay with that WU, you'll get many points.

#62676 Thoughts On The New Xm8 Assault Rifle?

Posted by Viper on 28 August 2005 - 06:55 PM in Off Topic

The rifle itself is deisgned by HKUSA. Its still foreign, but I wouldn't think we'd risk our nations sovereinty by choosing the XM8 the M4. Isn't this system supposed to be easier to maintain vs. the M4? I suppose the M4 already has these capabilites considering that we have commando, loser, and support variations of the M4. Now what would you think of the military switching to .308 for their main rifles vs the .223 Remington? I read the reasoning for such a hot, flat shooting caliber but with the M4 a three shot burst/semi rifle only, do we still need that ability to carry more .223 than .308?

#62668 Thoughts On The New Xm8 Assault Rifle?

Posted by Viper on 28 August 2005 - 05:26 PM in Off Topic

The XM8 appears to be a great rifle in its ability to be quickly converted to just about any type of weapon. The recoil shouldn't be bad and the weapon itself is quite light. They do say that it's ability to fire high volumes of rounds is unproven and that the saw does well in that area. The barrels can be removed quickly as just about any other part of the weapon can from its modular design.

Through all these neat features still lies a clone of a G36, basically the design itself is no engineering marvel from the respect that there is still a firing pin and it is still gas operated. I read on NHQ from boltsniper stating that the AR has better accuracy because of its gas piston? I just want to hear people's thoughts on the possible switch.

#62666 The Ubs (universal Barrel System)

Posted by Viper on 28 August 2005 - 05:14 PM in Modifications

99 cents per foot isn't that expensive. If you buy 10 feet of my PETG that's enough for 10 or 20 barrels. The Brass is 3-4x as expensive, but you don't need that much.

#62617 The Ubs (universal Barrel System)

Posted by Viper on 27 August 2005 - 09:19 PM in Modifications

Wow that's quite original, having a multi-diameter barrel system that can be mass produced. I'm looking forward to future right-ups.

Nevermind it showed up. I'm quite certain it was 2600 frames, dude. My new WU is 250 frames on my laptop, so I guess it evens out.

#62572 Nerfers Nerfing Disease

Posted by Viper on 26 August 2005 - 02:50 PM in Off Topic

I just finished a 2600frame WU under the username Viper and the team # 45293, yet on the team page it won't show my added WU.

#62524 Nerfers Nerfing Disease

Posted by Viper on 25 August 2005 - 12:50 AM in Off Topic

I only have 1 PC, but its an AMD 2800+. How do you put multiple processors on one account? I have my laptop on team 45293 but it says even though I have the same username that I used on my comp. That's insane that I'm already in 11th place even though I have 1 processor and haven't been folding for too long.

Did you guys see where Protease inhibitors which have almost cured HIV, except that HIV-A3 strand and Viagara was also developed using folding@home information. PEOPLE GET MORE COMPS. I'm gonna try and get Western Michigan to use folding@home.

#62379 Nerfers Nerfing Disease

Posted by Viper on 22 August 2005 - 01:28 AM in Off Topic

So what processor you guys think folding@home gets the most processing power out of? The powerpcs?
