Would aluminum sheeting of the side do the trick?

#270914 A New Singled Longshot.

I triple-dog-fucking-dare you to nest a [k26], [k25] and k19 spring in that thing.

#275299 Angel Breech Catching Issue

Posted by MindWarrior on 19 May 2010 - 12:18 PM in Modifications

Check to see if the boltsled is cracked, that might be the cause, Unlikely, but its always good to check since your opening your LS anyways.
EDIT: For what SGnerf said above me, you could also reinforce your boltsled to prevent bending, I've seen some people use pieces from a coat hanger or Carbon fiber to reinforce them.

#279891 Angel Breech Question

Posted by MindWarrior on 10 July 2010 - 02:45 AM in Modifications

BULL, You can use stock streamlines, just takes a modification to the design like SGNerf Did HERE. I Do suggest going down a size for the brass though.

#274552 At3k Singled Crayola Barrel

Posted by MindWarrior on 11 May 2010 - 06:40 PM in Modifications

crayola barrel: 5 inches.
PETG barrel: 12 inches.
More air is used efficiently to push the dart forward.

#270298 At3k Tank Replacement

Posted by MindWarrior on 25 March 2010 - 02:54 PM in General Nerf

The AT3K can easily fit a small bladder in the rear cylindrical "stock" on the back of the gun. I've done it to one of mine. A cut down RF20 or Magstrike bladder will work, but you must band it heavily or you won't get very good ranges, 70' at best.

To make sure the air doesn't leak out all at once, you'll have to limit it somehow or put a valve in between the tank and bladder. The RF20 / Magstrike trigger works. I wanted it to refill "automatically" so I plugged the air output on the bladder with epoxy, and then poked a needle through it before it hardened. The result was an airtank that refilled in about 2-3 seconds, and the cool part is the liquid gauge shows when it is full.

Be aware that you won't be able to get all six shots off unless you lengthen the back stock somehow. I glued two AT3K stocks together to lengthen the chamber and put an entire RF20 bladder in there. I can hold 9 shots now but it takes like 50 pumps.

Have you tried using dual action pumps? Should cut your number of pumps down quite a bit a, You can definitely fit a pump like that in an At3K.

I'm surprised nobody has commented yet. I really like this, and how it employs simple concepts together to make this. Ingeniou yet simple. Looking forward to building one of these!

#277788 Bike Pump Fittings?

Posted by MindWarrior on 15 June 2010 - 09:29 AM in Modifications

Bah, I've seen Zorn's BBBB Writeup with the bike pump, what did he do? I'm planning on using attatching some 1/4 OD Vinyl tubing with super glue at the tip to attatch it to the pump, and then use goob to secure and filli it in the hole.

#277199 Bike Pump Fittings?

Posted by MindWarrior on 08 June 2010 - 09:13 PM in Modifications

Many thanks, I found this and it should work for me fine, Thanks for the help!

EDIT: Shit, I meant 1/4 OUTER diameter, and 1/8 Inner diameter.

#277185 Bike Pump Fittings?

Posted by MindWarrior on 08 June 2010 - 05:52 PM in Modifications

So I got a bike pump:
The bike pump
Product description: 6063 aluminum barrel with two tone T handle for better grip. 7" alloy barrel with dual action pumping for higher efficiency. Reversible Schrader/Presta thumblock. 120 psi.

I was wondering if there are any specific brass fittings that can be used on this pump for 1/4 or 3/16 ID vinyl tubing?

EDIT: Sorry, Meant 1/4 Outer diamter and 1/8 Inner diameter.

#277218 Bike Pump Fittings?

I've tried wrapping Etape around some 1/4 OD vinyl tubing and gooping it to a previous bike pump....Wasn't successful.

#267564 Can I Get Advice On Blast Bazooka Barrel Replacement?

Posted by MindWarrior on 02 March 2010 - 03:51 AM in Modifications

9/16th Brass won't fit stock nerf micro darts unless your talking streamlines. 9/16th Brass is however, very good for micro stefans. It should have a loose fit on your darts for airguns like the Blast bazooka, I recommend 1 foot as length sheathed in 1/2 PVC to prevent dents in the barrel.

Edit: Streamlines could work for you, I recommend just blowing darts down the barrel to load.
Double edit: To improve streamlines, cut off the rubber and leave a flat piece on the top, and simply apply a dome of hotglue.

#285963 Community Snap Thread

Thats just more complicated then its worth. With this he just has to make some simple cuts along with some sanding to get a nice trigger.

#272627 Cs 18?

Let's get this over with: The system using the CS-18 will be reverse plunger.

#272417 Dart Door V2

Posted by MindWarrior on 16 April 2010 - 07:20 PM in Darts and Barrels

I know this may start to sound redundant, but have you placed your hand over the barrel to see if the plunger head still traveled?

Does the flap feel like it would warp enough to be unusable?

#277280 Deluge Tanks Doubleshot Mod

Posted by MindWarrior on 09 June 2010 - 04:41 PM in Modifications

That looks great! But I think you'll find it easier to pump it to higher pressures if you shorten your CPVC extensions. Other than that it looks almost like something from start trek:

EDIT: I'll say right now that Hot glue is NOT a good sealant, I suggest that some more super glue to be used, or plumbers goop over the hot glue to ensure that no air escapes.

#289395 Gyrostabilization Module

Posted by MindWarrior on 29 November 2010 - 05:24 PM in Modifications

We all forget that although most of us follow similar ways to nerf, we're free to interpret the hobby responsibly as we want to. And besides, this isn't as complicated as something like a stampede and might open up some new ideas to the community, I mean c'mon we created SILENCERS, crappy silencers, but silencers.

Maybe you can make an alternative design for a plunger tube extension?

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, whos gonna storm stores tomorrow for nerf blasters?

#274187 Has Anyone Considered Making/using Sights?

Posted by MindWarrior on 06 May 2010 - 05:35 PM in Modifications

Many don't because nerf is such a close range game that sights just don't seem necessary. Many hits are in the 50-80 range sometimes closer and occasionally farther. Just a line of sight down the barrel has been proven sufficient in the place of sights. But hey, if you like sights, use em.

#281774 Help On Solvent Welding On An At2k Turret

Posted by MindWarrior on 01 August 2010 - 03:00 PM in Modifications

I find Zorn's guide still a little confusing. So I just need to know what type of solvent is needed to weld the back cap of an at2k turret to the metal piece if the front piece. I need to do this because Î'm putting a lot more stress on the turret. So far, all I have is an ace brand pvc cement, and I'm pretty sure that's not what I need.

#281449 Homemade Airtanks?

Posted by MindWarrior on 28 July 2010 - 01:17 AM in Modifications

The new super soaker shot blasts water guns have a pretty good airtank, they have a built in spring piston with an air capacity comparable to an AT3K tank, but an air outlet similar to a AT2K though, It is very similar to an airtech series airtank in the fact that you pull a tiny metal rod to fire it.

#277679 Homemade At2k Tank

Posted by MindWarrior on 14 June 2010 - 12:04 AM in Homemades

Very, Very nice. Now machine an at2k turret for this.

#277708 Homemade At2k Tank

Posted by MindWarrior on 14 June 2010 - 11:36 AM in Homemades

The turret, I suspect would be far more expensive to pruduce, like 30$~ at least, I suspect. Would there be any failsafe to prevent over pressure to be war legal?

#277727 Homemade At2k Tank

Posted by MindWarrior on 14 June 2010 - 03:31 PM in Homemades

Real 2k tanks don't have one, so why should this? You would just not plug whatever pump you are using.

I think that This tank is a lot sturdier than the real thing, meaning that higher pressures could be made and may make it non-war legal.

#277790 Homemades Picture Thread

Posted by MindWarrior on 15 June 2010 - 09:54 AM in Homemades

I know your using a hamp, but is there any really significant range decrease (like 20-30 feet) by using such an absurdly large hopper clip? Either way, that thing looks like it can kick major ass in any war,

#279385 Homemades Picture Thread

Posted by MindWarrior on 03 July 2010 - 06:41 PM in Homemades

Introducing Char's Red +bow, its 3 times faster and shoots 3 times farther than a normal +bow! Kidding aside, I love the Paintjob.

#282266 Hybrid Hopper, Combines Hopper With Brisc

Posted by MindWarrior on 05 August 2010 - 10:41 PM in Darts and Barrels

Probably as well as a normal hopper with a nested brass barrel. The Chopper just makes the clip parallel to the blaster, but nothing in terms of performance should be changed dramatically. So it would probably work fine with a nested brass barrel.

#285669 Insane Bna

Posted by MindWarrior on 18 September 2010 - 01:01 PM in Homemades

Its just a matter of precaution, its your choice to follow it or not to avoid injury.

#285666 Insane Bna

Posted by MindWarrior on 18 September 2010 - 12:35 PM in Homemades

Theres the point where a nerf gun becomes too powerful to be safe to use in nerf wars, And using stock darts for a bow like this probably wouldm't be possible, since The power would cause the darts to spin.

#285661 Insane Bna

Posted by MindWarrior on 18 September 2010 - 11:51 AM in Homemades

To his defence however, some people(bob) have stressed that bow powered blasters can be dangerously powerful, and kane admitted that he can make his Aabow dangerously powerful with slugs. So his ranges still be possible. But looking at the picture, the PT (I think?) looks pretty small.

#270796 Intro To Solvent Welding Plastic

I have the same stuff Tantum has, would that work for connecting vinyl tubing to an airtank at good pressures?

#272619 Inverse Plunger Tube Reinforcement

Posted by MindWarrior on 18 April 2010 - 08:26 PM in Modifications

Just when I destroy my recon. Very nice, and it's cheaper than an aluminum plunger tube. What range are you getting on your beefed up deploy?

#270559 Magstrike Air Compressor Mod

Holy crap, must be a bit heavy, but DANG that things gonna rock on any indoor war you have, unless its in a stadium.
