#235625 Season Of Foam Trip Map

Posted by Blue on 11 June 2009 - 12:01 PM in Nerf Wars

Season of Foam Nerf Out, Sacramento Area, CA - July 18th
El Pescadero Park‎
West Grant Line Road, Tracy, California <---Location Subject to Change by Falcon

If this can be in Tracy, then I can be there. Whoever is organizing it - I'd like to help, please email me.

I went to a war in that location, and it was not the best idea of a nerf spot. There were many, many kids who wanted to shift through our blasters, and a soccer game took over the field. Plus, the field was exactly what it was meant to be, a field. No trees or obstacles of any kind. I'd suggest you change it Falcon, but please keep it near that location so I can come.

Bob, I believe Nerfer9 was organizing it, but then he was banned and that's why falcon wrote that note.

As long as people keep saying interesting things, why does the age of this thread matter?

In "Role Models", there's a point where the guy in charge of Ronnie ditches him at a party, so Ronnie walks home. He comes to apologize, and when the door is opened, there is a SM1.5K on the couch. I'm pretty sure it's that scene, I saw he movie awhile ago, but the gun is definitely at that house.

So, I finally decided to mod my ST9K... NOT! It doesn't hold air at all, and I figured it'd be best to fix this while remaining stock. I took a bunch of pics. The key to the pump cap is popsicle sticks. I got one wet, trying my best not to scratch this thing, and wedged it under the cap. I did the same to second, and circled from the first one, pushing up. It eventually popped off very satisfyingly. The other cap is at the end of the barrel thing, just get your gun apart and wiggle the two brown pieces and it will pop off. The gun has some pretty awesome flashlight activator stuff too. The tubing connectors screw right off as well if you decide to replace the tubing, which I may do since mine seems to have dried up. I didn't know this at the time, but if you just want access to the pump, the yellow handle and that cap are the only things holding it in. Not saying this is a good idea, but you might be able to pop off the pump cap by just yanking on the pump. Anyways, here are the pics of the internals. Post here if you want more. Check out the album for more pics of both guns and the flashlights: http://s339.photobuc...ullTheDog/St9k/

#299876 Orange Mod Works Kit Reviews

Posted by Blue on 14 June 2011 - 07:48 PM in General Nerf

I don't get why anyone would get so uptight about this, how is purchasing one of these kits any different from buying a homemade from someone? And why would you even care what someone else is producing anyways?

#299918 Orange Mod Works Kit Reviews

Posted by Blue on 15 June 2011 - 02:24 PM in General Nerf

Actually, Blue, I would care. But I care for an entirely different reason than all the other whiners who think that OMW parts take the modding out of nerfing. I look at it this way: I know how to make blasters that are reliable and very competitive on the field. But there are many people who don't, or simply don't have the time to do so. And at the same time I also don't like having a huge advantage over most other nerfers on the field. It's one reason why semi-auto hasn't really been seriously pursued by many nerfers - not many people can make stuff like that. I know that's why I haven't delved into it beyond a theoretical standpoint. Mod kits like what OMW is producing changes that whole mentality. Once they start producing kits for blasters that could potentially be more powerful, I won't have to worry about using blasters that have too much of an advantage over those of less experienced modders. One of the most frustrating things for me, in nerf, is having to dumb down what I make or else be required to make a ton of loaners. A company like OMW could really change that.

tl;dr: What OMW is doing could potentially even the playing field and allow us modders to push ourselves to higher limits.

I was talking more to ice and the others who have voiced fears about this part, I'm all for new ideas and products. I doubt that any part they make will change the playing field though; look at it this way: For purposes of just supplying people that don't mod with a blaster, a decent snap will still be only $40-$50. If you bought all the kits and a recon, you are looking at a ~$60 blaster that has a 50 foot lower range and only slightly better ROF... and it will still be shooting very expensive inaccurate streamlines.

#316620 Rockets for Nerfers

Posted by Blue on 06 June 2012 - 07:17 PM in General Nerf

The first three boxes of rockets have been shipped out. I am still waiting on a piece of tooling I desire for the best finished product for the Titan barrels, but if that doesn't come through soon, I will have to resort to a secondary design. Still works, just not quite as awesome.

Hey, you don't respond to my pms and you are shipping things out. Can you please pack up my things and put them in a box to go out with the next batch of rockets?

#223167 Fbr Directory

Posted by Blue on 12 April 2009 - 02:57 AM in General Nerf

Revamped!

Now pricing, squishiness, and fit are listed!

But the best part:
I spent forever doing some googling. I believe I went to page 20 or so of the results before calling it quits. Everything that I found now has New! next to it. Do note that the "BSI Red FBR" was found by LSWielder. This and the other red foam that I found look very promising. I also found a bunch of white foam, but unfortunately a lot of it looks like it has to be ordered in bulk.

Now I think that was worth a bump...

Edit: Forgot to say, If you have any info about the spots where it says N/A, do tell. Also tell me if there are any mistakes.

I'm not sure you can actually buy a few of the new foams you found, if you could find where to order/pay for it that would be nice.

#188147 Guide To All Guns Directory

Posted by Blue on 07 November 2008 - 09:53 PM in General Nerf

blue: Thanks but rate of fire would be like the time needed to prime gun.

ie.

low - titian
med - nitefinder
high - Firefly
Very high - RF20
could you please edit that post

You just said that rof is the time needed to prime the gun, ie: load and cock the gun. If you used this standard, the rf20 would be very low on the scale.

Ok guys, bad news. The attendance just dropped by five. That means only 3 people will be coming. I am not sure whether I should cancel (I most likely will) the war yet, but I was just letting you guys know.

Then move it to a date where kdizzle and hopefully her friends can come. That will put the count to 6, and you can move me from maybe to 80% if at least 4 other people are coming.

Alright, today I received a letter acknowledging my request for the alimenting part.

So far, I love the recall service. They gave me 2 emails, a letter, and even a phone number for questions.

I got a letter too! Mine has a Mr. Potato Head watermark. Its strange that they waste money sending you a letter telling you that their going to send your package in 3-4 weeks... instead of just sending the package in the first place.

#243122 The Official Sticker/logo Thread

Posted by Blue on 21 July 2009 - 11:46 PM in Modifications

The only way to get an old sticker off cleanly is to fossilize the glue holding it on, then pop it off, from my experience with paper stickers. I don't know how this happens, but more than one of my guns has had to have their stickers glued back on because the sticker dried out.

My suggestions:
Hair dryer: This warms up glue and loosens it's grip, you might be able to peel it off slowly after applying some heat for a few seconds. If the glue is already fossilized, the sticker might pop off with some pulling, and you won't even have to peel it off.

Freezer: It works for hot glue, so it might work for this.... Can't do any harm (I think...)

That's about all I can think of, I'm sure there's more if you search for the right words on Google.
