#102948 How To Make An Easy Scope

Posted by bobafan on 29 April 2007 - 11:01 AM in Modifications

Yeah, the only kind of sight that would be useful at all is a ladder sight, and that is pushing it a bit.

#103094 Suppressors

Posted by bobafan on 29 April 2007 - 09:30 PM in General Nerf

Why do you need a silencer on a blowgun?

#104573 Football Teams

Very whimpy.

#105725 Diy: External Air Tank

Posted by bobafan on 15 May 2007 - 05:31 PM in Homemades

The other day I bought a chemical sprayer for use as a tank such as this. It comes with it own pump which has a regrettably short stroke but it works. The tank is only rated to 35psi so I won't be having as many shot or need a regulator. I am going to mount a pressure gauge on the side somewhere.

It is 3 gallons so there is good volume. It was on sale for $10 but there was a backpack version with all sorts of gizmos for around $70.

I just wanted to put that out there for people whe are lazy like me to use instead of CS's wonderful design.

#105803 Diy: External Air Tank

Posted by bobafan on 15 May 2007 - 10:01 PM in Homemades

Well, I looked at the box again and apparently the 35lbs/in I saw was about the box itself.

I don't know what the max pressure is, it doesn't say on the box or the website. Apparently the sprayer company doesn't intend people to use their tanks as a semi-hazardous pressure resevoir.

The plastic is a good 1/3" thick, it might hold a nice amount of pressure. I might go buy another to hook up to the air compressor to see how much it can hold.

Oh here is a link to the fancy backpacks. They are kinda cool.

#106342 Ringtone

I just use the record function to record music from cds or youtube of whatever and set it as my ringtone.

#106959 Scrap Parts + Imagination = New Gun?

Posted by bobafan on 21 May 2007 - 06:01 PM in Homemades

Why don't you make up one and tell us all about it instead?

#106965 Knowledge Is Power

Posted by bobafan on 21 May 2007 - 06:07 PM in News

Forsaken churns out tons of the best mods around and CaptainSlug has the best technical mind I know of.

Congrats!

#107111 Ls Clip Holster

Posted by bobafan on 22 May 2007 - 06:02 PM in General Nerf

You could go to your local army navy surplus store and see if they have anything the right size. That is if they are still around.

#107373 Pronounce Stephens?

Posted by bobafan on 23 May 2007 - 10:33 PM in General Nerf

Well, it is spelled stefan.

I say stefin though.

#107376 Shotgun Titan With "shells"

Posted by bobafan on 23 May 2007 - 10:35 PM in Modifications

Nice job, but I think the priming time kinda makes this matter less.

#107382 My Arsenal

Posted by bobafan on 23 May 2007 - 11:02 PM in Modifications

stock micro suction darts, and this one catnip mouse we have.

You should hot glue the mouse to a titan missle and shoot that around.

Very nice mods. Cleaner than most of mine.

#107384 Paintball Tanks With Nerf

Posted by bobafan on 23 May 2007 - 11:20 PM in Homemades

That's ridiculously awesome.

You should make MS clips from scratch to go with it. It would be a bit easier than the LS clips and they aren't avalible apart from the gun.

I wouldn't want to be the one making the darts for that bad boy though.

#107602 Shotgun Titan With "shells"

Posted by bobafan on 25 May 2007 - 10:43 PM in Modifications

Nice job, but I think the priming time kinda makes this matter less.

Au contraire - maybe if it were a singled Titan. If you've ever tried to shotgun-load a barrel, or load an RF20 or Magstrike in the heat of battle (and if you haven't, just pretend), you know how much that sucks. The last thing you want is to take forever priming, then take forever to load. This modification alleviates the load time.

What I'm getting at is that you would probably be in a semi-sheltered place already so 3 more seconds won't matter much.

I like the name. Norse dieties who chose which warriors were to die and join the Army of the Dead to aid Odin in Ragnarok. Rode wolves.

yeah.

Oh, nerfboi, if you don't have threads, it is more likely that the whole shell will fly off.

#107727 What Not To Do With A Titan And A 410 Shotgun Shell

Posted by bobafan on 26 May 2007 - 10:58 PM in General Nerf

What are shotgun shells for? Killing stuff.

Don't mess with live ammo unless you want a bunch of shot in you gut.

#107728 Kickback

Posted by bobafan on 26 May 2007 - 11:03 PM in Homemades

The force exerted on the projectile is equal to the force exerted on the gun. So either shoot your dart at a few hundred mph or fire somthing heavy. When shooting a Titan mega missle you feel some kick.

#107786 What Instruments Do You Play?

Posted by bobafan on 27 May 2007 - 01:26 PM in Off Topic

I play any percussion but am best at timpani.

#107805 Darts Falling Out?

Posted by bobafan on 27 May 2007 - 04:06 PM in Modifications

Well, I havn't delved very far into the workings of the LS frontgun because of its suckyness but I do think the peg and AR are the same piece of plastic.

You should be able to buy PVC it's dirt cheap.

#108073 Minimized Nightfinder Question

Posted by bobafan on 28 May 2007 - 10:49 PM in Modifications

I filled the entire extra space with hot glue. Sure it is almost as heavy as stock, but it will NEVER bust in two.

#108079 New Maverick Clip Mod Writeup

Posted by bobafan on 28 May 2007 - 10:59 PM in Modifications

Aside from being worded in a rushed and confusing manner, decent mod.

What is the extra couple inches of marker for?

#108146 Pirates Of The Caribbean 3

C'mon learn to use the quote button.

I think the discription given by the ask a ninja ninja still stands.

The kid singing at the beginning had braces.

#108185 Free Ps3! No Joke

I doubt a virus can start a thread and post 2 times.

#108269 Wildfire

Posted by bobafan on 29 May 2007 - 08:56 PM in General Nerf

I believe some TRUs are stocking RF20s for about $30.

In my experience however, wildfires are a bit more durable but less efficient.

If it is in good condition, I would buy it.

#108557 Baby Powder Stock Darts

Posted by bobafan on 31 May 2007 - 03:11 PM in Modifications

That was a bad example of your promised change.

I like this idea except sealing off the back. I think it might make the dart less stable. I'll try it though.

#108673 Help!

Posted by bobafan on 31 May 2007 - 10:31 PM in General Nerf

I found a replacement spring for my NF at ACE.

#109048 Nf Plunger Head Reinforcement Write Up

Posted by bobafan on 03 June 2007 - 12:24 AM in Modifications

Well there's your problem.

Just plumber's goop every part of the plunger tube which touches the frame to the frame and coat the rest with hot glue.

And yes, springs which have a 30lb compression streagnth can damage guns.

My favorite NF has 2 springs, one in the other, 4 inch petg barrel which is epoxied to the plunger tube and hot glued to the frame where it protrudes, extra o-ring, and 4 rubber bands. It gets an average of 87' (measured with my size 13 shoes). I have never had a plunger head problem or explosion such as this.

Reinforcement=good

He put this in his sell thread so the 'sport' is probably paintball.

Another one bites the dust.

#109616 A Pvc Shotgun W/ Clips Any Ideas?

A few people have been working on this for a while. linkage

If you had looked a little you probably would have found it.

Have fun!

#109660 Dartsmithing Tips Archive

Posted by bobafan on 05 June 2007 - 10:04 PM in Darts and Barrels

You can hang 5 or so foot sections with a weight on the end and then heat them with a blow dryer so they stretch a little.

If you stretch them too much, you will end up with nanos instead of micros.

#109661 A Pvc Shotgun W/ Clips Any Ideas?

Posted by bobafan on 05 June 2007 - 10:09 PM in Homemades

Normal shotguns don't have clips. You load shells individually into the mag tube.

If you mean something else, tell us in a civilized manner so we can understand you.

Also, the longshot is set up completely diffrently from a shotgun so I doubt you will be able to employ parts from yours.

#111542 Bolt Operated Titan Write-up

Posted by bobafan on 15 June 2007 - 10:19 PM in Modifications

If he is going to get banned, he'll get banned. There is nothing anyone can do about it.

Nice breach though. Won't air go out of the slit which keeps the bolt back?

I would run.

On second thought, I would run from most of your creations.

Rover, stop being an ass-kiss.

#119737 Turret For Coupled Guns

Posted by bobafan on 14 August 2007 - 11:05 PM in Modifications

It seems to me that you just lengthened the amount of time it takes to reload.

Speedloaders work best with a longer barrel.

This is unless I'm..... Oh.

So this is an alterative to the in-line configuration.

Cool.

The only problem I see is if the coupler can hold up the whole turret and still be holding it up straight.

Kickass paintjob by the way.

#119742 Nitefinder Help

Posted by bobafan on 14 August 2007 - 11:18 PM in Modifications

No.

The springs FA used are far too long for a NF.

Not very hard to find.

#119751 Need Help Deciding What Nerfgun To Get!

Posted by bobafan on 14 August 2007 - 11:32 PM in General Nerf

Magstrikes are cheaper ~$30 not $50 or whatever you were thinking and the dart tag vest doesn't make sounds.

If you are going to post, at least post about somthing you know about.
