So, what do you guys think of using shotgun buckshot as weights? I'm going to try using .410 Remington.

OK, I have tried out the buckshots, Sizes 2 and 6. Size 6 sucked. Horribly. It was far too small and light, and I had to put two in to get decent ranges, and then, of course, that screwed the accuracy to pieces. Size 2 was much better. It was about 3 times larger than the Size 6 shots, and about the same size as a BB. It was much more consistent, and had good range, and if you're buying in quantity, this is a cheaper alternative then buying BBs or 3/O fishing weights. Note- these were with lead shot, not steel. I will have ranges and pics soon, and maybe a video or two. I'm going to have steel shot stuff soon as well.

Haha, nice. Why do you burn a hole in the bottom of the dart?

I was thinking, how do you think that buckshot would work as a weight?

#100517 Nerf Shotgun

Posted by Grenado on 27 February 2007 - 07:55 PM in Homemades

Even though I'm a noob here, I'm a gamer, and this is really irritating to me too, you people need to understand that shotguns fire SHOT, which is a bunch of projectiles at once, please try to understand that.

Nobody asked you to be a jackass and give a lecture on what to call our homemades, Jergling. I am aware of what a shotgun is, having fired several before. However, the design and operation are identical to that of a shotgun, and that's what I'm going to call it. Unless you have a contribution to make that will help these guns get built, please do not respond in my thread again to make room for other developments.

HEAR HEAR. He was an asshat and a baby. Do you think PETG might work as barrel material?

I wanted to ask before the thread was too old to even talk in.

Too late. Especially for this brand of stupidity.

Instant agreement.

If you're planning to ambush your dad, forget it. I tried the same thing with a stock Maverick and even with that piece of crap he got mad. It might be better if you let him shoot you. And then you try to get him back with your other guns.

Sorry, I know, old thread. But I have a burning question? Are there any stores that will sell the magazines? Can you use 16-20 gauge shotgun shells as shells? If those are too big how about a .410 caliber shotgun? Or what about high caliber rifles? Would those work as shells? I have a burning desire to know, so I can decide whether to make the SCAR or the NTS. Or both! They use the same ammo.

Well, I'm canadian so I'll have to order the mag off of the internet. I have a lot of 28 gauge shells because I do a lot of hunting.

I can get the mags, won't be a problem. I was just hoping to find an alternative to buying all that brass...

#99983 Hasbro Reveals Nerf N-strike Disk Shot (nerf Skeet Shooting)

Posted by Grenado on 18 February 2007 - 02:49 PM in General Nerf

I think that the gun they include with it is kinda ugly... even (dare I say) buzz-bee-ish!
It's like a nightfinder with a downsized plunger shaft that was stuck into a scout body. It's despicable! and unless they have a seriously hardcore original-NF quality spring and barely any AR's in it, the thing isn't going to work.

Dear God, I think you're right! Who skeet-shoots with a pistol anyway?

Still, skeet shooting with a pistol? For real skeet shooting, the disks I use can't be broken with a 20 gauge (all right, I know 20 gauges are very weak). Meaker, some people, like me, like to try to shoot down 2 or 3 disks at a time.

Something like the Maverick would be good, six shots, fast RoF, large but it's still a pistol. That's what would be fun.

you're right, an over-and-under shotgun would be sexy. I like longer barrels with somewhat good RoF.

I kind of doubt it, skeet would be good for one or two guns, but any more than that would be overkill on the idea and not be very effective marketing.

#100289 Banning Guns

Straying a little off topic here, what about a clip system for the Titan? It would lower the ranges while increasing the RoF. Can this get stickied?

Who gets bent on using a titan? Wait, if you're that dependant on one gun, you need to get out more. Seriously. Buy your self a Longshot and try that.

Yes, jackass. Remove that image. We are that picky. Croc got this same treatment when he put an image in his sig. I am also very pissed cuz I just burned my fingers on a candle. But that's irrelevant. So be a good boy and listen to CH and get rid of that image and put a link in there. Or WE WILL burn you at the stake.

There is one issue we never really discussed: accuracy. How frequently can you hit a target from 70-80 feet?

Crap, that's awesome. It brings a whole new aspect in to CTF. It might be better if you used 1 or 1.5" darts.
