#262814 Reverse Plungers

Posted by chefdave on 23 January 2010 - 02:03 PM in General Nerf

Plunger heads have nothing to do with the death of the rushing game. It is primarily that everyone has to prove their e-penis is bigger than every one else's by constantly one-uping each other when it comes to range.

#262619 Furyfire/2k Modification!

Posted by chefdave on 21 January 2010 - 05:59 PM in Modifications

Oh my god! That is beast! I wish i had an air tech 2k to use for this mod.

Is it really necessary to quote his entire post to just say "Cool"?

@ ahtanie, nice job with the gun. You turned a shitty springer into what everyone was hoping for before the gun was released.

#262313 Epic (sorta) Ls

Posted by chefdave on 18 January 2010 - 07:15 PM in Modifications

Didn't BadWrench do this already but better?

lol i hate it cause it only shoots taggers i bought thick cpvc

Thick cpvc that only shoots taggers... could that be? PVC?!?!?!?

Also if anything would make you/your gun Effeminate, it would be a topic with correct grammar and spelling.

#262237 Quick Longshot And Big Bad Bow Question

Posted by chefdave on 18 January 2010 - 02:58 AM in Modifications

The bbb spring has about 2 times the constant of the LS spring, so yes it will make a huge difference.

#258913 Real/halo Looking Guns

Posted by chefdave on 13 December 2009 - 10:29 PM in Modifications

If you make a real looking "gun" you deserve to be shot, and for game guns there is already a thread for that

#258869 Improving The Seal On Your Rear Loading 1500

Posted by chefdave on 13 December 2009 - 04:02 PM in Modifications

@ MSDFS, you have to make sure the outer rim of the turret is firmly touching the wax paper, so there is only a very small amount of epoxy over the rim. If you are still having problems, tantum's fix should work fine.

Disregard.

#258819 Improving The Seal On Your Rear Loading 1500

Posted by chefdave on 13 December 2009 - 01:24 AM in Modifications

Just get either standard or plastic epoxy. Curing time doesn't really matter.

#258806 Rear-loading 1500 Probs.

#258805 Improving The Seal On Your Rear Loading 1500

Posted by chefdave on 12 December 2009 - 11:32 PM in Modifications

Materials:

Wax paper
Tape
Epoxy
A penny

Tools:

pliers
exacto-knife

Take appart your turret, rip out the 4 small cylinders.

Posted Image

Take your penny, shove it into the gears, the top of the penny should be flush with the top of the center.

Posted Image

Get a smooth surface, tape down some wax paper.

Posted Image

Take a large amount of epoxy, dump it on the paper, and smash the turret on top.

Posted Image

Once the epoxy has hardened, scoar around the edges of the penny and remove it.

Drill out the holes in the epoxy.

Posted Image

Cut away the excess epoxy

Posted Image

Take a neoprene washer, cut off a small piece, glue on each part in the respective areas.

Posted Image

And your done, now you have a rear loading 1500 turret with a perfect seal and inter-changeable barrels.

The smaller piece of the neoprene washer makes the turret distribute the load of the spring more evenly stopping the turret from bending and ruining the seal, However you may need to spray some silicon lube in the turret as it becomes harder to rotate.

#255654 What Type Of Tubing Will Fit 13mm Fbr? *resolved!*

Posted by chefdave on 07 November 2009 - 10:16 PM in General Nerf

CPVC for springers.

PETG for air.

Last time I checked, both of those can vary widely in inner diameter based on where said material is produced, your best bet is to listen to Hi yah.

#254625 When Do Nerf Blasters Become Too Powerful?

Posted by chefdave on 26 October 2009 - 05:45 PM in Homemades

My view is simple, if they cause injury or discourage people from playing they should not be allowed.

Smash your computer with a sledge hammer

Don't do it

You know you should though.....

Or, you could just buy 3 big salvos and 4 spidey triggers.

#251643 Rear-loading Sm1.5k Fixes

You have the cap on the back of the turret on backwards. The exact same thing happened to me a few weeks ago.

#250241 Longshot Question

Posted by chefdave on 12 September 2009 - 05:07 PM in Modifications

For boltsled reinforcement I would recomend doing this. My boltsled has survived for the last few months with the combination of a LS, BBB, and RFSG spring, with no signs of stress.

#246889 Homemade Trigger For Bbbb

Posted by chefdave on 13 August 2009 - 01:29 PM in Modifications

I managed to hot glue and e-tape everything together

On the air tank... can you say BOOM?

Do not use hot glue on anything that requires structural integrety to not break/splode.

#246428 Singled Longshot Trouble.

Posted by chefdave on 10 August 2009 - 12:58 PM in Modifications

The most likely reason why the thing cracked, is that you mismeasured. The slider probably isnt closing against the end of the plunger tube putting all the strees on the CPVC T and the front coupler. You really should remeasure the thing and replace ALL of the CPVC in the gun

#245892 How To Cut A +bow Spring?

Posted by chefdave on 06 August 2009 - 09:41 PM in General Nerf

Bolt cutters will melt through any nerf-related item like a knife through butter, I use them all the time as a modding tool.

#245310 Efficiency Equation!

Posted by chefdave on 03 August 2009 - 03:55 PM in General Nerf

Cool, but how do you determine the expected range? There will always be minuet variations in each of the stock guns, and it isn't really possible to determine the expected range of any modded gun considering that X modder can always do something a little bit different than Y modder to get a few more feet out of the gun. Everyone uses different darts, weights, springs, barrels, ect.

*edit* Forgot to mention how much weather effects guns, your spring might shoot 100ft in 90 degree weather, but if it is 60 outside you might only pull 80 ft. *edit*

#244827 Darts

Since when do modded recons get more than 100'? If that's how they build em in Australia, damn man!

#243503 Nerf Wars On Wikipedia

Posted by chefdave on 24 July 2009 - 04:03 AM in General Nerf

Each base should have at least a sentry/gunner's station or two, an ammo dump/gun holds, and parking for one/two tanks.

What the hell! Why didn't my super nerf fortress 1.92k didn't come with 2 tank parking spots, WAAAAAAAAAHH!

#242031 Silencing A Crossfire

Posted by chefdave on 15 July 2009 - 09:49 AM in Modifications

It isn't really possible to silence a nerf gun enough so your opponent won't hear you. However, as a general rule you want to make your guns as loud as possible to scare the shit out of people, and it also gives you a bigger e-penis

#241683 Armageddon Recap

Posted by chefdave on 12 July 2009 - 11:34 PM in Nerf Wars

Here we go:

Pro's:
Going to a MAJOR war
running around like a little kid
shotgunning people with my bigblast
watching someone's glasses get shot through
People throwing swords in frustration
Mulit-team
watching sorrow shoot his titan barrel 10ft
meeting some big names

Cons:
longshot breaking first round
not staying long enough

#241530 Armageddon X

Posted by chefdave on 11 July 2009 - 08:43 PM in Nerf Wars

I had to leave early, but it was alot of fun. It seemed that +bows and pumpshotties were the dominating guns. Unfortunately there were a few people that lacked war etiquette. One example is when I ran up to some kid with my shotgunned big blast, Told him to drop his gun and proceded to barrel tap him, he thought about it for a second and shot me with his nightfinder when I was 3 ft in front of him because I decided not to give him 7 small welts on his chest.

#239259 Sothern Californai Nerf War

No barrels over two inches!!! My nitefinder has a barrel longer than that.

Two' is two feet
Two" is two inches

You'd probably be better off duct taping 9 salvo chambers together.

#237215 Longshot Cf Boltsled Reinforcement

Don't remember where I got it, it was probably a few years back, just check your local hobby store.

#236623 Raider Preview

Posted by chefdave on 15 June 2009 - 10:36 PM in General Nerf

Hmm... The drum mag looks like it could be modded to shoot stefens, Just put the 2 pieces of plastic running down the sides of the clip and then fill in the back portion of each slot on the drum with a small piece of 1/2in Brass.

*edit, nevermind you would have to also put a U shaped piece of 9/16 brass covering most of each slot *edit*

#236432 Raider Preview

Posted by chefdave on 15 June 2009 - 01:14 PM in General Nerf

I'll probably end up buying this just for the drum mag. Anyways the gun looks sick.

#236278 Plus-bow Spring Questions

Posted by chefdave on 14 June 2009 - 06:52 PM in Modifications

The stuff I used was some extra I had lying around, it can't be more than a few dollars for a 1ft square though.

#236273 Plus-bow Spring Questions

Posted by chefdave on 14 June 2009 - 06:39 PM in Modifications

Reinforcement in sig, so far my boltsled has held up to a LS+BBB+RFSG spring combo.

#235685 What Do You Do With Wet Internals?

Posted by chefdave on 11 June 2009 - 06:14 PM in General Nerf

Here's a suggestion, don't paint when it is going to rain.

*edit* adding something constructive *edit*

Just wipe it out as best you can with a paper towel, then let it air dry.

#234368 Introducing A Hellcannon

Posted by chefdave on 04 June 2009 - 10:03 PM in Modifications

Inline clips slightly decrease range, therefore do you really need 60 shots in what is normally a 12 shot rear loading gun?
