Pertaining to the ramp, a superlative plunger head is definately the most reliable/stable/long lasting.

Dude, I don't see how you guys are making fun of this guy. Every person on this forum plays with toy blasters for god sakes.
He's got a plan to create a foam flinging device, regardless of how it looks, it's still a foam flinging device, and that's the whole point of the Haven. Everyone comes at it with a different approach and just because yours is different than his doesn't give you the right to be a prick.

Gears and Ice Nine, you're both pretty damn good modders, and I respect you as modders, but as people, you're disrespectful douche bags. 'Nuff said.

This is where you lost us. It seems you are not another 12-year old who wants a 1337 snypor like he saw in COD, but combustion in a nerf gun...never happens. Look at the recent thread about propane power to understand how squeamish we are about these things.

tl;dr- You're wrong. But you don't seem to be a moron. Lurk and see who we are, try to contribute to that.

If you'd have read the requirements, it states that said homemade should NOT be combustion based, only resemble the aesthetics.

What to Bring:

+MOBSTACLESS! BRING WHAT YA GOT
+ A pistol for the pistol rounds
+ Melee weapons for zombies, I will have some on site, but more is always helpful
+ Enough Ammo, Ammo means SLUGS and STOCK AMMO ONLY. No glue domes, no tac darts, use common sense.
+ Eye protection for all ages. I don't care if you're 14 or 40, no exceptions.
+ Lunch. Non-pershibles preferred. Something that will last on a hot day.
+ WATER! Dehydration is shitty. I'll mopst likely have a case on site, but the more the better.
+ No camo, gillie suits, etc. Common sense, once again.
+ A primary and a back up in case that one breaks.
+ Money/Blasters to buy, sell, or trade.
+ FRIENDS! The more the merrier

What not to bring:
- Gluedomes, tacs = NO.
- Shitty padded melee weapons. Doubts? Don't bring it.
- Anything painted black or camouflage. Put something bright on that shit.
- Plugged titans. 3 barrels Minimum. Same goes for 4b's
- Anything that can inflict a welt for ~35 feet-ish

Good shit to know:

> West coast rule-set

> Ask Questions n shit. No question is stupid.

> People should be 13 years of age or older if you would like to attend. Anybody younger must have a parent present the entire day.

> Barrel taps: if you think you have to barrel tap with something at a stock-ammo war, you're doing it wrong

> I'm going to stray against shields in excess of 12" In diameter. The large shields I've been seeing lately make it near impossible to shoot people. No fun.

>Expect to see gametypes such as:

~Meatgrinder Style Rounds

~Zombie Rounds

~Capture the Flag

~Defend the Core

~Team Deathmatch

~Territories!

Possibly more.

Attendance:
Edible (Me) +1

*Really, it was pretty cool. Not many blasters can be loaded with a drum mag, with space to store a second one. Never saw what the VHS rewinder was for....

The VHS rewinder held a 6 shot clip.
Anyways, the gopro video I shot on top of my blaster doesn't want to upload to youtube for some reason, but I'm gonna try some other stuff and see If I can get it posted.

#302579 JSPB-The Mad Ghost

Posted by Edible Autopsy on 31 July 2011 - 11:59 AM in Homemades

What does this mean?

When you drilled the hole for the woodscrew to open the check valve, you didnt mention an o ring or anything to seal it, so when you pull the trigger, does air just leak around the screw?

I should make this one, if I can make darts in time.
Vacation has conflicted with the last two wars, but I should be good this time.
Anyways, are wire-wrap darts okay to use at this war?

#300862 JSPB (3DBBQ/Taiwan-style) darts?

Posted by Edible Autopsy on 01 July 2011 - 12:58 PM in Darts and Barrels

Couldn't you potentially just put some heat shrink around your already wrapped darts, throuw them in a pillow case again, and throw them into the dryer for a few minute to shrink the heat shrink?

#300585 JSPB (3DBBQ/Taiwan-style) darts?

Posted by Edible Autopsy on 27 June 2011 - 01:31 AM in Darts and Barrels

I just made a few of these using ordinary soldering wire.
I haven't had a change to see how the fly very much because it's dark out right now, but as far as I can tell they are shooting about the same distance, if not further than my #6 slug darts. I'm considering converting over to these from slugs, because they are extremely easy and cheap way to make darts.

#299606 Another Recon Mod

Posted by Edible Autopsy on 09 June 2011 - 04:44 PM in Modifications

I'm assuming that 70' is flat, right? The 80' Orange Mod Works claim is angled.

I believe that they made a mistake on the website. On the chronometer it showed 80 feet per second, which is a velocity, but they may have accidentally translated it to just straight range.

#297437 Community Snap Thread

Posted by Edible Autopsy on 22 April 2011 - 02:25 AM in Homemades

Kane, when you post pictures like those it only leads to hours of wonderment and painful reverse engineering. I am still baffled by your priming mech. Did you use a pulley to come out the front of the PT and reverse the direction? How did you keep it from tangling in the spring or causing excessive amounts of friction as it is fired? And why not cut off the useless couple inches at the end of that tube, moving the priming handle backwards if necessary? I am assuming you are using a plunger similar to boot did. Your designs baffle me.

It's quite simple actually, I already reverse engineered the non-bullpup one. The bull-pup/pump action one is my next challenge, but it shouldnt be to hard.

EXTREMELY sorry for the triple post. I hate breaking the CoC.

UPDATE!
The snow is pretty deep at the park, but tolerable. Probably a solid 6 inches deep.

I'll be bringing a couple of shovels to try and shovel a few paths out atleast, and would very much appreciate help.
Snowpants are HEAVILY recomened, along with boots. Be my guest and wear niether, but please don't whine to anybody when you're frozen.

It should be a great time nonetheless. Snow mobstacles anyone?

The weather looks pretty good also, nearly 40 degrees and sunny.
Hope to see everybody there still.

Well I look forward to seeing you there! I think we all miss nerfing....Damn cold...

DART RULE CHANGE:
I AM OFFICIALLY ALLOWING GLUE DOMED DARTS.
3/0 IS THE HEAVIEST ALLOWED WEIGHT.

I will also hopefully have a few hundred darts for a community dart bucket.
