#219891 Video Converting Sovtware

Posted by shadowkid33 on 26 March 2009 - 05:15 AM in Off Topic

The only other conversion you will need is SUPER codec. Which can convert anything to anything, but is a bit mind-bogglingly feature rich for daily use.

I'm definately gonna side with Slug, SUPER is one of the best programs out there. Once you learn how to use it, you will be able to effectively convert anything you want to any type of file. There must be 25-or-so different formats it's compatable with. Click here for a link.

#213045 New Raider CS-35 Speculation Thread

Posted by shadowkid33 on 17 February 2009 - 04:14 PM in General Nerf

It's probably laundry day at Slug's house, and all that was left in the dresser were the grouchy pants.

How is he being grouchy? He is 100% right, speculation threads accomplish nothing. Wait for the gun to hit shelves, then check it out.

#210707 Blink-182

Posted by shadowkid33 on 08 February 2009 - 11:04 PM in Off Topic

Blink 182 is HARDLY one of the greatest rock groups ever. Are they fun to listen to on the radio occasionally, sure, but don't even try to call them one of the greatest rock bands.

Also, is Barker playing for them? I thought he got into that plane wreck and couldn't play for a while.

#210572 Anyone Want To Join A Band?

Posted by shadowkid33 on 08 February 2009 - 06:49 PM in Off Topic

People have done it before, its not that unusual. Unfortunatelly, the life span of a band like this tends to be pretty short.

I'm already a rhythym guitarist in a band, but hell, if this is a strictly-for-fun thing where we just wanna have fun with it all (my other band tends to be more serious), and mabye write a few songs about Nerf, I could lend my little guitar talents here and there.

Keep in mind, I don't have a webcam, so I would have to comunitcate through strictly recordings, but I would be willing to do it.

EDIT: Keep in mind I do play a Rock/Metal style, so I would be best suited to those genres

#209268 Rubberband O-ring

Posted by shadowkid33 on 03 February 2009 - 05:37 PM in General Nerf

How about you exeriment and try it yourself instead of ask us? Your specific application for a rubber-band plunger may be different than what you see on here. Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

#197154 Twilight Review.

Posted by shadowkid33 on 19 December 2008 - 06:20 AM in Off Topic

My ex-girlfriend used to worship it as a religion, so she gave me the books to read. They were ok, I mean, you all KNOW that Edward is gonna come back at the end of the second one, and the fourth one is like a REALLY bad porno. Stephanie Meyer totally avoids conflict in that book, and it sucks.

These parodies of Twilight are pretty funny. Click here

#196307 Lock N Load Spring And Barrel Mod

Posted by shadowkid33 on 15 December 2008 - 06:11 AM in Modifications

I sounds like the 'Mystery Pipe' is CPVC. CPVC is a bit beige in color, and has an ID of about .49.

#195365 Mcno & Gankfest 3

Posted by shadowkid33 on 10 December 2008 - 10:38 PM in Nerf Wars

Eh, it's early so I'll go down as a mabye. I definatelly CANNOT make it February 7th though, I have a concert I already purchased tickets for and am going to with a bunch o' friends.

EDIT: And preferably not a Sunday.

#194666 Unisex Pas Coupler System

Posted by shadowkid33 on 07 December 2008 - 08:22 PM in Modifications

The kind of CPVC couplers I use fit perfectly inside a PVC coupler. I just shove a CPVC coupler in the back of a PVC coupler and use that on the gun. It works very well, I think I get the couplers at either Home Depot or ACE hardware, I can't remember (you saw the CPVC coupler in my PVC one at the war last week, didn't you?)

#193504 Stefan Molds?

Posted by shadowkid33 on 02 December 2008 - 03:13 PM in General Nerf

Actually, there are clays that can be hardened in an oven.

Very true. For example, here* is a brand I have often seen in craft stores.

*: It says that it "bakes to a smooth, matte finish in your home oven" after the three-bullet list.

Off topic: I just thought of a potential way to make letters out of hot glue*: fill whatever letter you need of a cheap plastic stencil, and bend the letter out when it's solidified.

*: I'd probably use this to put on the side of NERF blasters or something...

Yes, but Sculptey is a modeling clay. I have used it before, and I'm not sure how well it would work in this situation.

I'll admit defeat then. Mabye my mod was the reason it didn't shoot very far.

#193237 Thanksgiving War At The Shore

Posted by shadowkid33 on 01 December 2008 - 06:20 AM in Nerf Wars

Great war guys.

Okay, shadowkid, who were you? Also, what's up with this leaving without saying good-bye first shit? 2-3 people just took off shortly after VACC left without saying anything to anyone. Also, Splitlip has somebody's jacket that got left in the gazeebo.

I'm Connor, the kid who's name you couldn't remember. And the people who left were Spartan and Enchilada, but they came back to say goodbye briefly.

#193189 Thanksgiving War At The Shore

Posted by shadowkid33 on 30 November 2008 - 10:52 PM in Nerf Wars

-Kevin (my brother) buying an AT3K from shadowkid33. He's really happy bout it.
-Seeing shadowkids' homemade thingy pistol. You have to tell me how to make one.

I'm glad he likes the 3K. I think the pump is plugged though, so be sure not to overpump it (I'd say 4-5 pumps, max).

That pistol was the first online Nerf gun I ever bought. I bought it from FlamingHilt back on the HQ about two years ago. Luckily, he has a writeup of how he made it right here.

#193171 At2k And At3k Tanks

Posted by shadowkid33 on 30 November 2008 - 09:56 PM in General Nerf

You have now met the guy who uses a 3k as a primary.

Yes, but do you actually get out there and Nerf, that is the question...

Rixon is a Canadian, He has gone to HbH and He's going to massacre, I think.

Then good job! That earns some respect.

My point was have you ever used the 3K in a war? I've found it doesn't usually hold up well against it's counterparts (the AT2K mainly).

#193168 At2k And At3k Tanks

#193166 Thanksgiving War At The Shore

Posted by shadowkid33 on 30 November 2008 - 09:43 PM in Nerf Wars

My damn camcorder is screwed up, I need to buy a cleaning cassette this week and that will delay the video somewhat. Anyway, I suppose I'll post my recaps...

1) Getting the flag in that 'Defend the Base'-style game on the playground and winning the round. I still can't believe I sisn't get hit when I tripped. Sheer luck I tell you...

2) Metting a bunch of new people who I've never met before (I think Badger, Vacc, and DX were the only ones there I've ever played with before).

3) Proving the reliability of most of my guns.

4) Having an overall good time.

#193078 At2k And At3k Tanks

Posted by shadowkid33 on 30 November 2008 - 05:48 PM in General Nerf

Personally if you get an AT3K then you should use it as a primary. If you get an AT2K then you should integrate it into another gun.

That's not true. At a big war, most people will use a 2K over a 3K, because it has better range, and is much more reliable. I have seen probably 5 people use 2K's as primaries before I see 1 person use a 3K as a primary.

And yes, AT1K's show up at stores like Big Lots occasionally. I found one at a store called "The Christmas Tree Shop" near my house, but it sucks.

#192863 Thanksgiving War At The Shore

Posted by shadowkid33 on 29 November 2008 - 09:22 PM in Nerf Wars

OK, so Xeorogue, tell me which one is you, so I can accurately make the video. Just PM me the details. Also, The guy with the 2K handle mod, PM too and describe yourself so I can accurately make said video.

The guy with the 2k handle mod isn't a member of the forums. And I have a video as well. I'll edit it and post it some time in the next few days.

I'm telling everybody in advance I'm going to be leaving early (around 4:00-4:30). It's not a big deal, but I just wanted yall to know.

EDIT: Does anybody have the street address of the park? Thanks.

If it's aything like that Nerf computer game that was made back in 2000 (Nerf ArenaBlast is the name) or something like that, it's just a bunch of made-up guns.

#191701 Cod5 Or Football?

Posted by shadowkid33 on 24 November 2008 - 04:15 PM in Off Topic

I have COD4 for the DS and it sucks. Miserably.

I'm not gonna tell you what to do, buy I almost promise you that Call of Duty 5 for the DS will highly dissapoint you.

#191698 My New Promotional Project

Posted by shadowkid33 on 24 November 2008 - 04:09 PM in Off Topic

If you're into the Old School Crossbow idea, try something like this.

Posted Image

It looks a little more 'professional'(less MS Paint-ish) than the previous design. And that's my Crossbow, so nobody's rights are being infringed upon.

#191411 The E-tape 5k

Posted by shadowkid33 on 23 November 2008 - 12:16 PM in Modifications

Oh god, thats going to make a mess.... In under a month you're going to have a blob of black stick goo and your gun will be trashed... My advice, take off the tape or never use it...

Agreed, especially in the heat. The sticky part of the e-tape will melt onto the gun and make it impossible to do repairs on if the gun breaks. Believe me, your guns WILL break and will have to do repairs. Taking the
e-tape off now will save you a lot of time and mess in the future.

#190946 Etrl Pump Shot Gun

Posted by shadowkid33 on 20 November 2008 - 05:14 PM in Off Topic

Hahaha, it says its air powered also. Where is the pump? I think it must be a very magical modal

They aren't wrong in saying that, because all Nerf Guns are air-powered. By air-powered, I mean a burst of air is shot into a barrel, therefore launching a dart. There are two types or air-powered Nerf Guns, those that shoot air through a pressurized tank via a valve (what we call 'air' guns), and those that shoot air via a spring, powered plunger (what we call 'spring' guns).

#189315 Thanksgiving War At The Shore

Posted by shadowkid33 on 12 November 2008 - 06:15 PM in Nerf Wars

I will try to come. I'm a noob and this will be my first war.

Do you have a good enough primary for a full-scale war, or do you want me to lend one to you? Just asking because when I first started, my slightly modded Longshot was a primary for about 3 months and no way would that hold up in a full scale war.

#189275 Nerf Tank

I personally hate flaming people and blatant critisism of an idea without any usedul advice, but I'm gonna have to change my standards in this situation.

#189139 Favorite Rock/metal/alternative Song

Posted by shadowkid33 on 11 November 2008 - 08:37 PM in Off Topic

[That's cos Metallica doesn't give metal a bad name... I only hate Slipknot because whenever I ask someone if they like metal the conversation goes like this:

They: "What, like Slipknot? I don't like stuff like that." This can be a different mallcore band... but since we're talking about Slipknot I'll use them as an example.
Me: "No, Slipknot is not metal."
They: "Well, I guess I don't know what metal is, then."

It's just aggravating to see people have such a misconception of a whole genre because of a particularly popular band. If you want to listen to Slipknot, fine, just don't introduce them as metal... I don't really want to argue this point, so if you feel differently, tough, don't get take it to the point of a flame in the thread.

I agree with you. I personally hate the attitudes of 99% of Slipknot fans. I mean, half the fans are 12 year olds trying to act cool by saying "Maggot 4 lyfe, stay (sic)" I'm almost ashamed to say I like them in public because of the absurd reaction I get from some people.

That doesn't mean I don't like the music though.

EDIT: Oh wait...you're not talking about the fans, your talking about people who think Slipknot is all that metal is. I'd agree on you with that too, Slipknot is a bad representation of the genre 'metal'.

#189066 Favorite Rock/metal/alternative Song

Posted by shadowkid33 on 11 November 2008 - 03:52 PM in Off Topic

Not to be the black sheep, but I find Metallica infinitely boring. I have lots of love and respect for the guys in the band and what they've done for the genre, but I can't bring myself to listen to them. Maybe they're not heavy enough, maybe their sound just doesn't do it for me, but something just doesn't click when I listen to them.

BLASPHEMY

Nah, just kidding. Anyway, the point I was trying to make is very few people hate Metallica the way people hate some other bands, Slipknot or Draonforce for example. I personally am a big fan of Slipknot, but many, many people absolutely despise them. I haven't ever met anybody who hates Metallica to that level though.

#188980 Favorite Rock/metal/alternative Song

Posted by shadowkid33 on 11 November 2008 - 06:21 AM in Off Topic

[And i'm noticing that almost everyone put Mettalica down on their list. Does nerfing cause us to like Metallica, or is that a very odd coincidence? And I forgot:

Nerfing doesn't cause you to like Metallica. It's the fact that almost everybody DOES like Metallica. Seriously, I have found very few people who don't like them. Yes, I've talked to people who think they're overated, but they aren't like "ZOMG I H8 METALLICA".

#188931 Buzzbee Big Blast Trigger Repair?

Posted by shadowkid33 on 10 November 2008 - 10:52 PM in Modifications

I had a break like that once and failed at fixing it. I paid Captainslug to make me a new trigger (this was about two years ago) since I saw he machined one for his broken Big Blast. Worked like a charm, so if you really can't fix it mabye you should get in contact with him. The worst he could say is 'no'.

#188917 Favorite Rock/metal/alternative Song

Posted by shadowkid33 on 10 November 2008 - 10:09 PM in Off Topic

Metallica: Kill 'Em All. Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, ...And Justice for All, Death Magnetic. I personally think that after ...And justice for All their music quality dropped pretty hard, but Death Magnetic is better than their stuff from the 90's and almost as good as their stuff from the 80's.

Death Magnetic is OK, it has it's moments, but James just sounds old and worn out on the album. It might just be the God-awful mixes, but it's not as good as their '80s stuff or The Black Album. A hell of a lot better than Load and Re-Load though.

Stairway to Heaven-Led Zeppelin

ANY Mastodon, Metallica, Dragonforce, Slipknot songs.

Stairway = Good

Metallica = Good

Slipknot = Awesome

Dragonforce = Effeminate Phial

Just kidding, I really don't like Dragonforce, but hey, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Check this out though, it's pretty funny.

Yes

Ok, thanks.

My dad gave me the clear to drive me, so I'll be there. Also, OMC, if you still have my toolbox could you bring it?

And Talio, under your avatar where it says location and you put Killadelphia, did you get that from the Lamb of God CD? Just wondering because I'm a big Lamb of God fan.

EDIT: If anybody wants to buy any of the guns I'm selling, listed here, let me know before the war and I'll bring it for 'ya.

#188788 Thanksgiving War At The Shore

Eh, I might be able to haul my ass to it. I haven't been to a war since Reckoning in January, so I'll try to make this one. Put me down as a mabye.

Edit: Just so I know...Mill Creek is the same one Reckoning was at, right?
