At least no one tries to borrow my underwear.

If I can get directions, I would be able to find out if I can make it.

EDIT: I found directions, maybe I'll be able to come. Possibly.

#293347 Clipped Barricade Now With Clip Lock/release

Posted by qwertyupp on 25 January 2011 - 02:41 PM in Modifications

Very nice the only problem I forsee is the process of obtaining an extra raider clip holder piece.

But anyway props

That's not too hard.
Step 1. buy a raider
Step 2. Take the clip holder peice out of the box
Step 3. You now have an extra clip holder piece!!

So the diffuculty is more in getting the money to buy the raider and what to do with the useless piece of plastic you have left over.

Not sure if this detracts form the current conversation, but has anyone noticed whether a well made snap catch, or an r3l catch is more durable?

#293012 Spring Pa War! - Tepaw 1 Recap!

There is an EXTREMELY slight chance I might be able to come, plus a couple. It all depends on if I can get my mom to drive me. I'll find out more when It gets closer to the actual date.

EDIT: And, I forgot to ask what time it would end at.

I think your just picking on people who can't get ahold of anything other than pink PVC.
Does this affect accuracy at all?

That looks pretty sick. On a sidenote, Stretching springs usually decreases longevity, so I wouldn't recommend it.

#289871 Nerf Gun Feedback Thread

Posted by qwertyupp on 03 December 2010 - 12:03 PM in General Nerf

@Talio what Darksircam pretty much said. I wanted it to be a thread for people to pool their opinions of new nerf guns so that if your hunting for a new gun, you can see what a bunch of people are saying grouped into one area.

#289480 Nerf Gun Feedback Thread

Posted by qwertyupp on 30 November 2010 - 10:40 AM in General Nerf

Guidelines edited, please look over them and edit your posts.

@blue; good idea about the AR, added to guidelines.

@darksircam; Good idea, will add to guidelines

@katanaspwn; As long as your review isn’t a clone of his, go ahead and post it. People browsing the thread can see: okay, there are three guys who like the nitefinder, one guy who doesn’t, could be a decent gun.

@knexpert; you can reply to the thread rather than to my post, which gets rid of a lot of unnecessary extra words.

Gun name: Magstrike
Manufacturer: Hasbro
Overview: Love this gun. I would recommend this as a secondary to almost anyone, due to huge mod potential and simple basic AR removal. It takes about 25-30 pumps to fill up the bladder, and then you can unleash a storm of up to ten darts in five seconds. They usually go for $20 dollars, and I would recommend getting the yellow N-strike version, due to flaws people have noticed in the dart tag ones. basic ranges of the dart tag version are about 20 ft. and supposedly the yellow ones get 30 ft.

#289420 Nerf Gun Feedback Thread

Posted by qwertyupp on 29 November 2010 - 10:14 PM in General Nerf

Ok, so it could be argued that a thread like this isn’t really necessary, but it can be useful if no one is a jerk.

Here’s the idea.
Post your gun’s name, manufacturer, a quick overview of stock performance/ what kind of potential it might have (don’t go into concepts, just mention whatever ideas you have quickly and simply)/ Whether it was worth the buy.

EXAMPLE:

Name: Raider CS-35
Manufacturer: Hasbro
Overview: This gun is the first one I have seen that utilizes “slamfire” making it one of the fastest shooting manual priming nerf guns on the market. It appears to have a reverse plunger, so it would probably be more useful in close range games like HvZ than deathmatch. I found it to be worth the price (Christmas present!) but if you’re low on dough; you may want to invest in a more economic gun. These usually go for about $35. I would recommend it to people who regularly participate in stock wars, due to the drum. Ranges are about 25-30 ft. stock.

Not too difficult to understand?

EDIT: Here’re a couple more guidelines:

Post gun names in bold

Try to keep modding stuff to basic AR removal, this is more for a general consensus of out of the box impressions than huge overhaul abilities. If the reader wants more on the gun, they can use that “search function” thingamajig.

Don’t be afraid to review a gun that already has been reviewed- unless your review is exactly the same. The idea is to show what most people think about this gun, not what just one person’s opinion is.

Give an estimate of ranges, or compare the range to some other generally used gun if you can. FLAT ranges. (parallel to the ground)

You can post one or two pictures if you want, but try to keep from wandering off topic. The idea here is that who ever is reading it can get a feel of what other people are saying about this gun.

Post away.

P.S. if a mod disaproves of this, stop posting.

added that hilarious quote to my signature, while playing with my butthole

I'd sig that.... but somebody would get pissed and I'd get more time off then I needed.
Plus, I don't use sigs.

And slightly more on topic, do the other small improvements you made to this version of the Mk. V affect performance at all?

Keep the trigger and grip exactly where they are... I wouldn't call it backwards at all.

Assuming I'm not blind, that would make you shoot yourself.

#287929 We Report Range, Why Not Velocity?

#287702 Stock Darts In Longer Than Stock Barrels

Posted by qwertyupp on 30 October 2010 - 07:10 PM in General Nerf

Or you can just use 3 foot long EMT barrels, and vacuum load the darts. But if you want to pick up and load twice as much stuff that's cool too.

I love the sarcasm of some of the more experienced members on this sight. and forgive me if this is stupid, but would actually attaching the fbr to the dart by means of glue or something decrease the reload time, thus making this idea a bit more useful?

There had never been a hopper at apoc prior to this year.

Then we should properly document it on stone tablets.

#287485 Nerf Stampede Ecs Problems

Posted by qwertyupp on 25 October 2010 - 11:54 AM in Modifications

What batteries are you using?

They may not have high enough discarge rates to match the increased current draw the motor requires to pull stronger spring loads.

Every time I read a post by you, Zorn's lemma, or Cwxq I feel so stupid.
More relevant to the topic, he also could have put a part in slightly wrong. I know that doing that makes magstrikes go nuts.

#287345 Hamp Help...

Posted by qwertyupp on 22 October 2010 - 10:58 AM in Homemades

So, what would be the ideal size then? Also, my (apparently) LAMP has no problems with aiming and iv'e found that 2-3 squirts of WD-40 down the tube works fine and I know it has petroleum distillates in it but i haven't seen any rubber deterioration like with PJ.

WD-40 should not be used for any kind of nerf-related lubrication, because its not a lubricant. Its just there to clean off rust and stuff.

#287306 Homemade Air Restrictors?

Posted by qwertyupp on 21 October 2010 - 12:15 PM in Modifications

Adding dead-space would probably work well. Just add an extra length of barrel material with a second coupler. Might be a bit unwieldy if you are already using long barrels though.

I'm no genuis but the farther the air goes before hitting something, and so slowing the plunger, would theoretically be bad for the gun. I mean, when you stick your dart in the end of the barrel rather then the back, doesn't the plunger hit the front of the PT with more force?

#286223 Pull-back To Pump-action Conversion - Snap

SNAP builders enjoy a perplexingly large amount of vagina, so they typically shy away from wood...

Your the only one who got what I meant.
For the record, that looks sick.

Only the outer ring is needed to stop the plunger. snip the three things that connect it with a dremel or something else sharp.

I think that's right...

#285946 Another Homade Wye Guide

#285610 Pacbow Write-up

Posted by qwertyupp on 17 September 2010 - 08:06 PM in Homemades

I was a stupid kid and used a utility knife cutting downward toward my hand that was gripping the pipe. The top part of the pipe snapped off and all the force I was putting down sent the knife through half of my thumb and the blade bottomed out on the bone in my index finger. I hardly need to tell you that it was an extremely gory mess.

I have a feeling that it hurt. Did your thumb get better?
