#158119 Stefan Issues

Posted by zxnam on 05 June 2008 - 11:29 AM in Modifications

My Method:
1. Take Foam and burn a deep hole and then fill all the way with hot glue so it spills out the top
2. Have a premade ice cup out and ready.
3. Spin the dart in the ice until the dome is solid and perfectly made.

And now you have a dart that is perfect for indoor wars in my opinion. It it also great for secondary's outside. The first darts wont turn out till a dome shape hole is melted in the the ice, so i use a hot glue gun for that.

I've been reading through this thread and I can't quite understand the way the breech works, could you explain this a bit more? I'm sure it will be a "duh" moment but any explanation would be great.

#113559 $10 Firefly!

It's also a gun named after possibly the best sci-fi television show ever made. <_<

Third, Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis

On topic, My maveric works better than my firefly just by a little though. I shoot more with my maveric, which sucks because you run out super fast. I think they should have a baby.

#112349 The Thunder Clip

Posted by zxnam on 21 June 2007 - 11:41 AM in Modifications

I know it's a double post but I'd like to give a few more pics and info.

To start I redid the Steps 8-9.

I found this metal bead that had an OD of 1/2", It was perfect.
Posted Image
I just glued it into cpvc and then into the back and it worked great.
Posted Image
Posted Image

Then I made a handle to slide the bolt.

It started out as 2 clips from a rope light. I glued them on. Posted Image

Then I attached a metal L piece to it. Simple but effective.

And some random breech pics.

#112330 Viva La Difference!

Posted by zxnam on 21 June 2007 - 09:01 AM in Articles

Great article piney. I nerf because of the tinkering(and providing a fun war with my friends). Heck I spend 2 hours a day average tinkering, another hour just firing. I get a sense of accomplishment from just taking it apart and modifing it. I am sure I will eventually sell 90% of my arsenal and start all over again. Again great article piney.

#112290 The Thunder Clip

Posted by zxnam on 20 June 2007 - 10:52 PM in Modifications

Right, right. I got the copper. But your slide is inside the breech. Cool.

Yeah, The good thing is is that because of the lip on the one piece keeps it 100% airtight. Also this is a super easy breach to put on pratically any gun. With the cpvc on the back I can put it on any gun with a cpvc coupler. And, I can make different brass barrel lengths for each gun's needs.

Carbon, It feels great, I am putting on a slider to make it easier. I didnt see that there, that it kind of like mine but i think mine is less complicated.

P.S. Does anyone know what that part is?

#112285 Zxnam's Cpvc Night Finder System

Posted by zxnam on 20 June 2007 - 10:44 PM in Modifications

I get 77' average distance flat. My darts have a magical fit in cpvc.

#112284 The Thunder Clip

Posted by zxnam on 20 June 2007 - 10:41 PM in Modifications

So it's pretty much a BS-9 breech with the clip attached to it?

Not really, Mine has copper and a different loading method.

#112256 The Thunder Clip

Posted by zxnam on 20 June 2007 - 08:15 PM in Modifications

Well This started this afternoon when I decided I should make a clip. Pieces just fell together and I got it working in no time. Also this Is a brand new design. The name is from the roaring thunder while i was finishing it up.

You Need:
-1/2"repair sweat piping copper
-1/2"nut
-17/32 Brass
-piece I don not know(someone help me)
-1/2" cpvc coupler
-1/2" cpvc pipe
-glue

1. Take your copper pipe and attach the piece I am trying to find out. The pipe should me at least 4" long.
Posted Image

2. Mark the pipe for the dart entry to the breech. Refer to above picture.

3. Cut the hole in the copper, I used a mini roto zip.
Posted Image

4. Put the coupler on the end of the copper, it should be a good fit, glue in good.

5. Cut a 1" section of cpvc and hollow it out really good so it will fit over the brass, then cut it in half.
Posted Image

6. Place a length of brass that works good in the gun you want to use(it has to be 17/32 though) into the copper pipe.

7. Slide 1 of the cpvc pieces over the brass until the coupler keeps it in place nice and snug. Mark it and then pull it out and glue it in.

8. Hollow out the nut.
Posted Image

9. Slide over the cpvc and glue into the piece I do not know the name of.
Posted Image

10. Put on a clip system you like.

Your Done.

So when the dart enters you shut it(of coarse) the dart is pushed back but enter into the brass by the brass. There is a lip of the piece i dont know of the keeps it airtight. It is held in place by the cpvc coupler/cpvc.

Also the steps 8-9 can be bettered I am sure. Hope you like it! Completion time is easily less than 2 hours for sure. I hope to get a bbb or some other higher powered gun to try this on soon. Questions/comments?

#112198 Important Dart Question

Posted by zxnam on 20 June 2007 - 02:38 PM in Modifications

Check the side, it would typically say. If it doesnt try a stock micro, if you have to twist it down to fit the body in, it is cpvc, If it fit the tip nicely it is schedule 40 pvc.

#112195 Important Dart Question

Posted by zxnam on 20 June 2007 - 02:22 PM in Modifications

I' ve been useing schedual 40 with 1/2 darts should I change the darts?

It truely is all in the darts, If they fly good great, if they dont switch. My micro stephans dont fit in schedule 40 pvc. I typically use cpvc and I use it on most guns so I can use couplers and do things like This

#112153 Longshot Clip

#112028 Zxnam's Cpvc Night Finder System

Posted by zxnam on 19 June 2007 - 04:39 PM in Modifications

So the barrel in the laser connects to the coupler? I've seen SSPB's in that position, but never another barrel.

Correct, Its more for fun than anything but in an indoor war it can save your life especially when you have another shot totally ready to shoot in 2 seconds.

#112021 Zxnam's Cpvc Night Finder System

Posted by zxnam on 19 June 2007 - 03:59 PM in Modifications

This is a 2 part mod, First a double barrel to fit Gengar003's Clean Coupler Mod, and then a an extra mounted shot in the laser beam area.

For the Double barrel you will need:
Two 3" cpvc lengths 1/2" and one 3/4" section(approximate for both)
Two 1.5" lengths of 3/8" vinyl tubing
Electrical Tape
Glue

1. Cut both vinyl tubing like so, so the tubing will fit.
Posted Image

2. Fit both pieces into the 3/4" length of 1/2" cpvc and glue it down good.

3. Wrap E-tape around the the end of the vinyl tubing so it fits snugly.

4. Slip the 2 sections of cpvc over the vinyl tubing.

5. Glue it down good. Connect the 2 with glue also.
Posted Image
Posted Image

END OF PART I

For Part II you will need:
10" of 3/8" vinyl tubing
Drill
Electrical Tape
Glue
1" stub of 1/2" cpvc
3" section 1/2" cpvc

1. Cut a 1/2" hole in the shell just forward of the trigger.
Posted Image

2. Wrap E-tape around the end of the vinyl tubing so it fits snugly on the cpvc.

3. Slip the cpvc over the vinyl tubing on one end and glue it in.
Posted Image
Posted Image

4. Cut laser like so, opening it up helps.
Posted Image
Posted Image

5. Slide Vinyl tubing through hole and glue the other end in.

6. Position the barrel so you can connect the other end to the coupler, glue it place.
Posted Image

And your done!

#111898 Maveric Slide Repair

Posted by zxnam on 18 June 2007 - 05:51 PM in Modifications

I would make it flush, but I am worried of it falling even if it is glued. I have it super glued so I dont think its coming out. If you sand it down properly it is not sharp but I will shorten it a little.

I had figured that other people had done this but I thought I would put it for people who can't figure things out by themselves.

#111878 Maveric Slide Repair

Posted by zxnam on 18 June 2007 - 03:34 PM in Modifications

First off I got this Idea from godzillasoaker65 and Frost Vectron.

All you need is:
A nail
A drill
And A cutting tool

1. Drill a hole that will fit your nail right in the middle of the 2 pieces that originally held the bar in place.
Posted Image
Posted Image
2. Cut the nail so there is ~1/4" of nail on either side of the cocking slide.
Posted Image
3. Re-wind the return spring around the nail.
Posted Image
4. Slap it all together and glue it in place. Sand the edges of the nail so you don't cut yourself or someone else.
Posted Image
Posted Image
And you're done! Congrats, your mav. works again.

So the trigger isn't working? Or is the gun just not cocking?
