Florida Nerfers, it has been too long. Not since August have we gathered together to fling foam at each other, and that is simply unacceptable. The last two wars failed before they began. Not again.

Date: January 15, 2011

Time: We'll get things started around 10 AM - this means you should arrive BEFORE then. We'll stop when everyone leaves or it's dark, which will probably be between 4 and 6 PM.

Location: 22nd Street Park. At RSNO #1, there was some confusion about where exactly one was to go. The address you want to hit is Park Drive & East Patterson Street, Tampa, FL. If you come in from Patterson, make a right and park at the end of Park (teehee). Here's a picture of the field and the surrounding streets:



This field is excellent, with different areas for larger or smaller groups. It features a trench/ditch/thing, a gigantic field, and a heavily forested area (main arena). Oh, and the river (can't have a Riverside war without it).

Clothing: Even Florida gets cold in January. Dress warmly - better safe than sorry, and you can always take it off later. If you must wear camouflage, please restrict it to one article of clothing.

Guns:
Bring:
-A primary.
-A backup primary/secondary.
-A pistol. A pistol is defined as a spring-powered one-handed gun that must be reloaded and primed between shots. Spring-powered one-handed guns sporting a reverse plunger may be used regardless of the number of shots fired between reloading.
Don't bring:
-Guns that shoot over 200 feet (for safety reasons).
-Homemade airguns.
-Anything liable to explode, cut, or otherwise injure other Nerfers.

Darts: Bring lots of 'em. Last time we got lucky and the park officials (or whoever takes care of it) cut the grass a few days before the war, but when we originally tested the location, we lost 80% of the darts we brought in the knee-high grass. Either way, marking your darts is highly recommended. I will be selling darts at the war.

Food: This is a bring-your-own-lunch occasion, but if enough people show interest, we might be able to pool our resources and order pizza. Make sure you bring enough liquid to sustain yourself throughout the day. I will be selling bottles of water at the war.

Melee Weapons: They must be completely covered in foam thick enough to ward off serious blunt trauma - we had enough injuries at RSNO #1. A good way to know if the weapon has enough padding is to let someone hit you with it. Nothing you bring should be longer than 4 feet - think swords and axes, not spears. Homemade shields are not permitted.

Safety:
-Eye protection is mandatory for all players under the age of 18. If you are over 18, it's your prerogative, but it's also your face.
-No 'tack' or 'death' darts.
-No exposed weights on darts.
-No slingshot-weighted darts. Slugs are preferred but not mandatory.

Money: As stated above, I will be selling darts and water at the war, and we may collectively order pizza. Please also bring spare parts/blasters to sell, buy, and trade - this will be a kind of 'swap meet' (as all Nerfer gatherings should be, I think) in addition to a war.

Misc:
-I would recommend bringing chairs and tables; there is no existing place to set up. Riverside will be bringing a table and a few chairs, but that's not enough for everyone.
-I don't care if you're 6, 16, or 26 - if your maturity interferes with the enjoyment of any other attendee in any way, shape, or form, you will be warned, then asked to leave.
-Hopper clips are limited to 6 darts (however long that may be for you). This includes any darts already in the barrel. I don't care (yet) how long RSCBs are.

This may sound really stupid, but how is that thing primed? It doesn't have a priming handle like the pistol splat does. And it seems the only thing to grip is the sight, which would seem slow to prime if it was.

But in your other thread you put CPVC inside 5/8x3/4" butyrate tube, so either your 5/8" ID butyrate tube lies to you and isn't 5/8" ID or your 5/8" OD butyrate tube lies to you and isn't 5/8" OD.

But either way talking butyrate holy shit!!!

Or maybe your cpvc changes dimensions.

Magic CPVC holy shit!!!

P.s. in case anyone is wondering what kind of magic PVC this guy is using, if you go to Home Depot and buy the 1' sections of 1/2" PVC instead of the 10' pieces, you pay $$$ more, but get PVC that's very close to .625" ID instead of more common .596-.604" ID. This probably isn't true for every home depot everywhere, and the manufacturer probably isn't exclusive to home depot, but I've seen this particular PVC make in multiple HDs in IL and the on HD we checked in NJ.

Thats because nobody and nothing is perfect. I Measured the ID of the PVC and 5/8 X 3/4 butyrate with calipers:
PVC: .615
Butyrate: .625

OD of CPVC and 1/2 X 5/8 Butyrate:
CPVC: .624
Butyrate: .615

So they match up fine. And Some people in the IRC chat room told me to make an "all clear breech" which is very hard with this type of material. I couldn't find a way to seal it.

1/2 X 5/8 butyrate has the same ID as CPVC, but has a slightly less OD so it slides in PVC. PETG is for larger sized foam or air gun fit, with most foam this has a tight fit.

This write-up is for my other breech, which can also be used with higher-powered guns. I personally like this breech better.
Materials:
-Super glue
-1/2 X 5/8 butyrate
-PVC
-CPVC
-Sandpaper
Tools:
-Pipe cutters/hacksaw
-dremel
-ruler/omnigird

First, cut your PVC to about 7 1/4 inches long:


Then, cut the breech slot starting from 1 1/4 inches of the end, cutting it about 4 1/2 inches long:


Cut a piece of your butyrate to about 9 1/2 inches:


Attach a piece of PVC that is 2 3/4 inches long to your butyrate: (may need to sand down your butyrate to slide smoothly)


Insert your barrel, and super glue on your nub, I used a piece of the cut out breech slot for this step:


And for your last step, add a small piece of CPVC to the back of your breech: (mine was about 1/2 inch long)


And you should be done! I hope this breech doesn't have nearly as much confusion as the other one. Final Product:


No, I have no other dimensions for a smaller breech.

The name of the video made me laugh. I half expected like some ad hoc music video with you operating the breech while wearing a purple warm up suit, gold chains and a hat, and then having bitches in the background shaking their money makers.

I guess it makes sense, but now I gotta ask... Why? The breech isn't really something that needs refining, ya know? I mean, granted, they look good, but its still a simple process.

And I just like a large breech slot, it makes it easier to load darts.

So you pull the butyrate forward, then shove the dart into the front of the cpvc through the slot in the butyrate?

*facpalm* Why is everybody looking at this breech backwards? You add e-tape to the other end and stick that in a coupler.
And the butyrate is clear, not saying that the CPVC is.
I never changed the date on my camera so it always says some time in 2006.
To clear any other confusion:

You put a small piece of CPVC to back as a dart stopper.

This is a write-up for one of my breeches made of clear butyrate. This size breech can be used for guns like a PAS or BBBB.

Materials:
-5/8 X 3/4 inch butyrate
-CPVC
-PVC
-superglue

Tools:
Dremel
Hacksaw/pipe cutters
ruler/omnigrid


First, cut a piece of the butyrate 8 3/4 inch long:

Then, cut a breech slot starting 1 1/2 inches from one end, and make it 4 1/2 inches long:

Cut your CPVC to about 8 inches long:

Then sand down your piece of CPVC and hammer on a 1 1/4 inch piece of PVC. (dremel if needed)

Insert your barrel (CPVC) into the breech, and glue on a nub of your choice, and your done! If you sanded it right, it should slide and still make a perfect seal. Final product:

Yeah, my camera sucks. No, I did not attach the nub yet in the last picture. And Yes, you can make this breech in different sizes. Here are the dimensions for one that could be used with a pistol:
Butyrate: 6 3/4 inches
Breech slot: 4 1/4 inches
Barrel:6 1/2 inches
Handle(PVC): 1 inch

Ok guys, less than 2 weeks till go time. And if anyone is going to sell darts, (3/0 weightings are preferred) please pm me.

Are you kidding me? 2 weeks after CFNF #4? I was going to host UNBO this time. But whatever, I'm down. And just make a note of this, I will at least be a maybe for all wars.

What are your darts weighted with? And I would suggest a 16" barrel and gooping it on.

May I also point out that "thank you" is not a compond word. And what I do is stick it in boiling water then use pipe cutters, which is the best and safest way to get it apart.

This thing looks beastly, and looks to have great ranges. But how does the magazine work? I don't see a spring or anything for that matter to push the shells up. And when you shot it as fast as you can, I thought to myself "this is like a tommy gun for nerf".

It looks like it "breaks" right in front of the ammo holders. And then you would have small barrels inside the gun and the front faux barrel is just fake. But I could be proven wrong. We will just have to wait and see.

So this is just a smaller and redesigned version of the RSCB? And does it hold the same amount of darts?

I will most likely be there, so put me down as a maybe for now.

What were you planning to do? Because if you want to replace it, I may be able to help. But don't count on it. My dad owns and runs a machine shop, and he could make one, but the chances are very unlikely.

Same happened to me last year. Did you try to replace the batteries with 9 volt R/C car batteries? And if you did, there is no way to fix it.

Wow. Not only did you single it, but you used 1/2 copper as a barrel material. Then you said you used cpvc, and how long did you make it? If you made it the same length, major dead space. And I don't think you know that really does not improve your range. And I can make one with more range and still have the belt. This mod is like making a singled LS and the boltsled is still good.

Bump: UNBO has been cancelled, but CFNO 2 has takin it's place.

My advice:
1. Go to a few NIC wars and learn from them.
2. Look at other NIC war topics, and see how they organize there wars.
3. Talk to others that have hosted wars and gone to them, and ask them any questions you have about wars and organizing them.

Nice mod but, isn't this just making a fancy singled ls with a still good boltsled? But even if it is, looks and most likely is awesome.

The only shields that will be permitted are Manta Rays and Crossfire Shields

Barrel Tapping is allowed however, your gun MUST be locked and loaded to tap--A tap from 5 feet away is nicer than being shot, wink...wink.

Do NOT bring anything painted all black. We REALLY don't want the cops called for someones stupidity!

Same thing happened to me. It is for sure your check valve. I got a new one at Advanced Auto parts for 5$.

Not saying all you guys have the same problem, but I just sanded down my brass so it did not chew up darts. And could we get some pics of all the brass tubings seprate? Like internal pictures of it?

This does seem like a good mod, but like everyone else said, the plastic is very bad. The only thing I would get out of this gun is the long plunger rod for a nf rifle. But anyway, nice job. I might want to start looking for one.

I am a maybe for now, I will find out about 5 days before the war.
