You could buy one of those airtech guns and scrap it for the parts.

#27761 Party Affiliation

Unfortunately, Merlinski, the Arabs resent Israel's claim to the Holy Land.  However, the majority of attacks are performed by religious Arabs who attack under the name of Allah.  They want the land because it contains Jews.

You forget that it was the Arab's who refused peace from the UN.  The Jews agreed to let the UN decide borders for the two nations, but the Arabs would have nothing of it.  This is not a conflict over land.  It is a conflict over ideals.  The terrorists resent the beliefs of the Jews, and choose to take terrorism over peace.  Arabs won't stop.  They never have.  Until Israel gives up, they will continue to use terrorism tactics to diminish the morale of the Jews.

Hopefully, if you resent my Christianity, you won't come wage Jihad against me!  This is exactly what Israelis face.

It would seem that in an age where people criticize anti-Semitism so much, there would be much more support for the Jews who don't want to be persecuted by their Arab neighbors.  When the Passion hit theaters, people flipped on their anti-Semitism filters, but when the Arabs hit the churches with car bombs, people turn on their understanding filters.

~Vintage

I havn't read through this whole thing yet, but when I came to this, I couldn't read anymore without posting.

You don't know what you are talking about. You don't know both sides of the issue. You havn't bothered to look into the other side, it seems.

Let me explain why the Muslims and the Jews don't like each other and cannot live in peace.

A long, long time ago, the Jews had a temple built in Jerusalem(sp?). I believe it was the Temple of David, although I may have the name wrong. Anyways, it, along with a number of other temples, were destroyed. A prophet told the Jews that their savior and lord would come to save them after this holiest of Temples had been rebuilt.

A long, long time ago as well, Mohamed started a religion out of the jewish religion, much like Jesus did. Now, he had to go to heaven, too, just like the Christians say Jesus did, so he stepped up from this rock and God Himself took him into heaven. The Muslims then built a Mosk around this rock, making it one of the Holiest places in the Islam religion, second only to Mecca and Medina, Mecca being the place where they turn to pray to so many times a day.

Now. The problem is this. That Mosk is built on top of the ruins of the Temple of David. So, obviously, the Jews want to tear it down to rebuild it so they can be saved, and the Muslims don't agree with that plan.

Also, as has been stated earlier, Israel has only been a country for a little over 50 years. In 1948, we(the powers of the world aka USA and Europe) decided to give the Jews a country of their own. Of course, we had to do that on someone else's land, because it was the Jews holy land, and we don't care about the middle east at the time.

And if you want to talk about history and why the "arabs" don't like us, you should read up about the Crusades. Plural. Where, in the name of Christianity, Europe marched into arabia and diddled and pillaged everything in site. That kinda made them mad.

So yeah...I'm tired of typing. My final thought is this:

Remember in the good ol' days before the World Wars when our entire foreign policy could be summed up in "insolation"? Good times.

EDIT: The Bush Administration a while ago reported a raise in blue-collar level jobs, which sounded great, but in reality, the Admin. just decided to start counting fast food and convience store workers (typically part-time work for teenagers) as blue-collar.

#27299 Adware....

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/

Or you can get Spybot or something. It's like an anal probe for your computer. Not as user friendly as Adaware, though.

The thing to be careful of, though, is some freeware comes packaged with adware/malware/crap, and it won't start without it. Kazaa is an example. Even if you are running Diet K or something, Adaware will pick up "dummy" files that diet K makes so Kazaa will start anyways. The dummy files aren't harmful, they just look like they are to adaware.

#25582 Nerf Pics For Your Use

Posted by Sacapuntas Cabesa on 05 May 2004 - 08:47 PM in General Nerf

So, I stumbled upon our old angelfire nerf site that never got off the ground, and I found 30 pictures we took of our guns for our review page. The content on the site isn't anything special, but I thought the pictures could be useful. Some of them are modded, but only some rubber bands and pvc.

So my point is this. I know you kiddies like making your nerf homepages and such, and I thought one of you might like to use them. If anyone is interested, say so here, and I'll get you the password and login and such for the account, and you can diddle and pillage it as much as you want.

Giving me credit for the pics would be nice, but I don't care if you don't.

Rock on.

#24660 Building A Custom Pc

Posted by Sacapuntas Cabesa on 22 April 2004 - 09:20 PM in Off Topic

Athlon numbers their processors on scale with the Pentiums. So a 2600+ runs the same, if not faster than a Pentium running at 2600MHz, even though the actual clockspeed is 2080MHz.

I built myself a computer last summer, and here are the specs:

Athlon 2600+ XP
Asus A7N8X-VM mobo(integrated Geforce4 MX video)
Kingston 512MB DRR PC-2700(on sale for $10 a stick)
Western Digital 120Gb HDD
Micro Advantage 52x cd burner(on sale for $5, bought 2, one for the family's)
SoundBlaster Live! Value (got it out of an old computer)
Case from my friend's basement
One fan that was laying around
One fan with red LEDs

The only complaint I have is that the mobo's onboard sound was crap. That's why I have that crappy sound card in it. However, I haven't had any problems with that card, and I'm sure you could get an equivalent or better for real cheap.

The UT2004 demo I have is running at 1024 with nearly the highest settings smoothly. So, uh. That's my benchmark.

Yes, I know. I have heard your opinion on most of that stuff before. Also, you were pretty inactive most of the time I was active in the NIC.

Other fun facts:

Starbuck is who I was thinking of with the crazy stories.

Balthamal was the first one to make a solenoid valve homemade, which pretty much started the homemade gun boom. He planned to sell his models, and didn't give away the plans for free, but it didn't take long before someone figured out how to use solenoid valves themselves and showed the rest of the community. His first guns were called Phoenix(NOT a typo) and Phoenix2, as I recall. His pics and such were hosted on Dr Genius's site, Nerf Mayhem, I believe.

Andy has a lot of the old NC threads saved, because he's pulled a few out before, but good luck getting ahold of him.

Two of the comics PA has done, plus Tycho was talking about it constantly in newsposts.

I liked the demo, but not enough to buy it. Beautiful game, and I didn't have any problem with it running on my comp on almost the highest settings at 1024.

#24319 The History Of Nerf

Posted by Sacapuntas Cabesa on 15 April 2004 - 02:01 PM in General Nerf

I actually looked up to Goo at Nerf Online, when I was Lildinoman/Bobthecommentator. He could get away with a lot of shit that newbs couldn't, and people would think it was funny.

"I win! Now give me some crappy porn!"

The "I Win" topic always had its times, whether they be good or bad. There was a person who always got flamed and flamed there. . . . He had the red helmet guy from Star Wars as his avatar.

Actually, it was Nickis that got the first post in and demanded porn and beer or something.

Be sure to mention something about NANANANANAN GUNTHERMOBILE and that crazy guy on NC years ago who made up the stories about The Tribe attacking him and his Nerf Paratroopers. I can't for the life of me remember what his name was...it's on the tip of my tougne. And Gold-plated Pikachu Razor scooters. And mounting Wildfires on bikes.

Doogie is still hiding out at electronic mayhem I think. He was around the same time I was. Which must've been the summer of 98 or 99. I remember my and my friend "Frogg" were modding some of our nerf guns and we decided to go online to see if anyone else modded guns, not expecting to find anything. We found NerfOnline first, and that is where I stayed.

The Lozi party should also be mentioned. Comrade Lobster, Dr. Genius, Occ. Hazard and a few others tried to take over the forums by flaming all the newbs. They did it a couple times, I remember.

So yeah...good luck

#16976 What Gun Is This?

Posted by Sacapuntas Cabesa on 24 January 2004 - 01:22 AM in General Nerf

There's this really crappy off-brand gun that had 8 barrels which is what I think he's talking about. It sucks infinitely much. And the parts are so fragile, there's not a whole lot you can do with it.

Definitely off-brand, though.

It'd only be funny if they were from a place that didn't speak english. Covering up accents isn't special. I think it's harder to understand southerners than it is to understand a brit or aussie.

Cricket is boring. Just like baseball.

Soccer is catching on here in highschools and such, but it hasn't became much of a spectator sport yet.

#14686 What Your Main Gun Looks Like

I've probably posted it before, but here is our BBB:

The barrel is a piece of PVC on a coupler, and the stock can store extra barrels preloaded. The stock can be removed, as can the maglight. A longer barrel can be stored in the sight for when you need more accurate long range fire. A sling can be attached.

#14233 High Rof Tactics?

Posted by Sacapuntas Cabesa on 13 December 2003 - 01:43 AM in General Nerf

Just wait for them to reload. Don't rush at them the first time they reload, either. Head to cover closer and closer to them, until you are close enough so that you can pelt them right after they fire.

Again, I have trouble recommending that as a reliable tactic. You would have to be the "King of All Fucktards" to not only; repeatedly miss your opponent with an accurate Range weapons, sit there like a dumb fuck while he works his way into ROF range, and not have someone to back you up during reloads. If any of you should ever encounter such a Range Shooter, please let me know so that I can mail him his King of All Fucktards crown.

I was assuming that it was pretty much 1on1, and the loser had a sidearm at most. As I said, the losers in our games usually have an auto to defend against kamikaze rushers. And the leap frogging technique isn't a surefire way to beat a loser, it just gives you a better chance. If you are any sort of nerfer, you can somewhat dodge darts at long range, and if you can tease the loser enough to fire at you when you are partially covered, you stand a chance of being able to rush in. Patience is the key.

The strategy here would also change a lot depending on whether you use East or West coast rules(I still don't know which is which).

And in any case, I don't see why you would only carry around an auto.

#14210 Sharpshooter 1 Modification. Help!

It's usually a different color, and it's sized or rated differently, I don't remember.

#14208 Sharpshooter 1 Modification. Help!

Posted by Sacapuntas Cabesa on 12 December 2003 - 07:03 PM in Modifications

I'm old fashioned, so I would suggest PVC.

3/4" PVC for megas.

1/2" CPVC for micros.

I think those are the correct sizes. It's been quite some time since I last bought PVC.

#14206 Sharpshooter 1 Modification. Help!

Posted by Sacapuntas Cabesa on 12 December 2003 - 06:48 PM in Modifications

The easiest way to attach a barrel would be to wrap the current barrel/peg(hearby referred to as 'peg') in some sort of tape. Electrical tape would be easiest(thin, black tape). Wrap it thick enough so you can push a new barrel of your choice over the tape. Make sure you have enough tape to make it tight, you don't want it falling off! The perk of this mod is that it is entirely reversible, and only requires you to cut your barrel to size.

I'm not sure the size of the peg, so if you want a micro dart shooter, this may not work.

#14203 High Rof Tactics?

Posted by Sacapuntas Cabesa on 12 December 2003 - 06:35 PM in General Nerf

Just wait for them to reload. Don't rush at them the first time they reload, either. Head to cover closer and closer to them, until you are close enough so that you can pelt them right after they fire.

OR you can just have a long range gun AND a high ROF gun, which is what usually happens, unless you have enough people to cover your butt whilst losing.

NEVER try to rush a loser with an automatic next to him. You will eat foam.

One of Adult Swim's new shows called Fooly Cooly, or FLCL, is one of the craziest things I have ever seen. There was a good 10min of it that was drawn like a comic book, frames and all. There were scenes with Matrix-esque 360deg panning. Robots popped out of this little boys head because he was "Fooly Coolying" with this high school girl.

On the whole, I approve.

Making an R2 droid and showing it off to people trying to sell it would be awesome. However, it's not $15/month awesome. Owning a moisture plantation would be awesome. But not $15/month awesome.

If there wasn't a monthly fee, I would definately convince one of my friends to split the cost of it with me. (The above isn't worth $60, either.)
