Yeah, I was just a little trigger happy. My bad. The Crestview park sounds great though.

Yes, the weekend I said would be the best for me. And we both agree so pretty much the date as of now is set at July 11, 2009.

WOW! And I thought FA24's Lancer was good. This is great! I love the curving on the top and the detail pieces you added. WOW! This is amazing. I can't believe this. Great Job SGM.

Alright man, sounds like a plan. Early July may be a no-no, unless it's after July 4th. My family from Colorado comes in and I won't be able to attend. Maybe somewhere around July 11-12? Thats a Saturday-Sunday weekend.

Sorry about the necro, and don't flame me for it, but have we gotten any farther on this?

This may help.

#183266 Nerf War In Kansas!

Posted by Mxer4life369 on 12 October 2008 - 01:44 PM in Nerf Wars

NICE. I will tell my parents.

I also think we should set up a time to order pizza or something while we are there. No one want's to nerf on an empty stomach!

#183156 Quality Tools?

Posted by Mxer4life369 on 11 October 2008 - 11:54 PM in General Nerf

Okay, you are all wrong, Harbor Freight is the best.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Seriously, I bought an allen wrench set from there, and the first time I used them, I'm not shitting you, it snapped in half. I wasn't even applying any strength either.

But Craftsman is my brand. I only use thier tools, and Dewalt.

#183154 Nerf War In Kansas!

Posted by Mxer4life369 on 11 October 2008 - 11:50 PM in Nerf Wars

I would definately be able to go to a Wichita war. XD
But if you're parents don't want to take you, tell them there are casino's in Topeka. (There is, isn't there?)
That's probably how I'll get my parents to take me.

#183021 Nerf War In Kansas!

Posted by Mxer4life369 on 11 October 2008 - 02:33 PM in Nerf Wars

If you can't go, you can't go. We have had the idea of having it in Topeka from the start. Me and Tornado are putting this thing together, so it's going to be in Topeka. Don't cry about it. I would rather not have you there until you can learn to capitalize your I's and end your sentences in periods anyway.

#182280 Nerf War In Kansas!

Posted by Mxer4life369 on 07 October 2008 - 08:55 PM in Nerf Wars

I like the Crestview Park idea. It looks very wide open in the pictures and I like stuff like that. Gives me room to use my --------- secret. Also, I really REALLY like the name Armageddon. But I know how we can't use it because there already is a big war named this. So I really don't know.

I'll be your huckleberry.

Tombstone for the win!

Yes, but DOC HOLIDAY for the win!
Great movie btw.

I could mod a NF for you, reasonably well, with a Gengar style coupler mod. I do them pretty damn good.

I wasn't saying you were worrying, I was just letting you know there is no rush.

#180900 Bbb Or Vulcan?

Posted by Mxer4life369 on 01 October 2008 - 08:32 PM in General Nerf

It all depends on your playing style. If you shoot long ranges and don't need ROF, then you need a BBB.
If you play indoors and really need ROF, then you should get the Vulcan.

Off Topic Answer: His username is ice.

EDIT:Damn, three replies in one minute, and I was the last one, how unlucky.

Dude, don't worry about it. Everyone can wait til you get time. If they can't, then I wouln't invite them to the war. Just whenever you can get some pictures is fine with me.

Cool. I don't really know when the convention will be so I will scratch that idea until I know a solid date. And if I can't go, then I can't go.

#179425 Hornet Mod Help

Posted by Mxer4life369 on 24 September 2008 - 09:56 PM in Modifications

I just minimized it, and I think it looks really cool. The only thing keeping me from firing this thing is the barrels (brass), and the tube fitting I need. What is the size of the little tubing inside the Hornet, and what can I buy that can put 2 pieces of tube together?

#179374 Hornet Mod Help

Posted by Mxer4life369 on 24 September 2008 - 08:20 PM in Modifications

OK, I think I have a relative idea of what the hell I am doing (kinda) and my mods work about 30% of most of the time. So I will go to the shop and see what I can do. I will post again tomorrow with any progress/problems.
Thanks for the advice guys.

#179370 Hornet Mod Help

Posted by Mxer4life369 on 24 September 2008 - 08:13 PM in Modifications

Father_Nerf: I have seen his mod, and I like the way it works, but I kinda don't like the dodgy hot glue setup holding the blast button on. I would probably get leaks like a sumbitch, and I probably would get pissed and throw the gun out of the window. But with the plugging of the titan valve thing, it would probably be a little easier and not as frustrating.

#179363 Hornet Mod Help

Posted by Mxer4life369 on 24 September 2008 - 08:03 PM in Modifications

Yes, I read the thread, you said "I've cut away a good deal of the inner bracing in order to move the stock pump as far forward as it will go while still working. I also cut off the "Unity Power System" trigger and one-way valve stem." and "The inner diameter of the tube that leads to the extra 6-shot trigger valve was luckily the perfect size to be tapped to 1/4" NPT. So adding an instant tube fitting will be a cinch."

That doesnt answer any of my questions. Instead of putting an Instant Tube Fitting, can I just plug it up with hot glue? Also, what exactly do you have to cut to get the pump as far forward as possible. (how much, etc.)

I know the Hornet is hard to mod, but I bought the whole UPS at a garage sale for $7 and I don't really care if I break it.

#179359 Hornet Mod Help

Posted by Mxer4life369 on 24 September 2008 - 07:34 PM in Modifications

I have a Hornet and I would like to minimize it. I am wanting to do it in the style of CS's "Humpty Dumpty". Meaning I would like to keep the pump in the stock position. But I am wondering, like CS says he is going to tap the old titan valve and use it for his magstrike 20 backpack, can I just plug that up with hot glue or something? Or do I have to do something a little more complicated. Also, I would like to know all that you have to cut off to minimize it, and how to keep the pump in the stock place.

Any help would be appreciated,
Tyler.

#179320 Nerf War In Kansas!

Kansas City may be a better place than Topeka, for me. My parents own a Mr. Goodcents restauraunt, and they have a convention every year. I may be able to see when the convention is in '09, and then maybe we can schedule it then. I'm sorry if I seem selfish, but this may be the only way I can go.

Posted by Mxer4life369 on 21 September 2008 - 10:41 AM in Modifications

Brass can be exposed and it shouldn't bend unless you throw it at a tree or something.

Well, I have done this, out of utter frustration, and it completly fucked my brass. My gun wasn't working right, and I was sick of taking it back apart, and I just threw it. But yeah, dropping guns can also do this.

#178512 Please Help A Noob

Posted by Mxer4life369 on 20 September 2008 - 09:30 PM in Modifications

Yeah that should do it. You can get brass at all hobby shops. I have a Hobbytown USA nearby, and I just go there. A couple things you should know about brass:
1. Its expensive as hell. ($4 for a foot of it.)
2. It tarnishes very easily.
3. It is extremely prone to bending/kinking due to it's softness.

#178507 Please Help A Noob

Posted by Mxer4life369 on 20 September 2008 - 09:21 PM in Modifications

I too have had this problem. It is the CPVC Inner Diameter. when they make it, it is used to hold water, so it does not need to have a uniform ID. It's varying ID's are one of the only complaints I have. Just try out a few sticks and see which fits right. I have had extremely tight CPVC, and some which is kind of like 9/16 brass.

#178504 Please Help A Noob

Posted by Mxer4life369 on 20 September 2008 - 09:17 PM in Modifications

Yeah, I forgot to put brass. I love brass. All of my guns have it. I use 9/16 brass for most of my guns.
I have yet to use petg, but I have heard great reviews on it.

EDIT: You need CPVC. I used to use it for a lot of my guns before I switched to brass. It is a very good material. It can be found in the plumbing aisle.

#178499 Please Help A Noob

Posted by Mxer4life369 on 20 September 2008 - 09:11 PM in Modifications

Welcome to the Haven. If you are using stefans/streamlines/cdtd's then you need 1/2" cpvc. CPVC is one of the most tight fitting barrel material. If you are using tagger darts, then 1/2" SCH 40 PVC is what most people use. SCH 80 PVC is a very loose fitting barrel, but can still be used. It fits streamlines etc. CPVC is under hot/cold cpvc on the aisle markers.
To further help you, I need to know more about your setup. (Gun/Darts used/Budget)

Which would be awesome BTW.
I think we should just wait to do anything until we get pictures.

B: It's in Topeka and mom would not drive me 12 hours round trip for a nerf war

Well, then evidently you're not a "serious" nerfer. Just kidding.

And I can't wait till we get pictures.

We should name this war Unforgiven or something.

#178136 Nerf War In Kansas!

That is what I thought, because I read a story about the vandalism there.
But I guess the park would be okay.

#178123 Nerf War In Kansas!

Posted by Mxer4life369 on 18 September 2008 - 04:27 PM in Nerf Wars

Well, that may be so. But it would take a whole lot of going through some red tape to get a park. He said his parents kind of owned the Menninger Building.
By "red tape" I mean like having to get a permit to have it because it has replica firearms. If we do it at the Menninger Building, we won't have to go through anything.
