i feel like the ghoul grinder is just a vertical take on the magazine on tachanka's LMG (from rainbow six siege) (and i forgot what that kind of magazine is called) which if executed properly can be a cool thing ultra i feel is a cash grab the flyte is a little cheaper stryfe but i believe it uses its own cage the fortnite grenade launcher is IMO gonna expand our hobby with an easy rocket drum we just gotta make it either air tank or HPA or maybe even back tank (for the crazies) and i feel like while hasbro doesnt like us as a hobby i feel like they like some of our innovations we make and i bet they discussing them internaly overall they are mediocre but are doing good

where would the darts get stuck at? the scar barrel? cause if so then you might have it too tight

Battle #3! This will likely be either the last or second to last outdoor event for the year, so if you haven’t made it to an event yet, you’re running out of time! Still looking into indoor locations, but no guarantee that will work out. Wars will definitely start back up in the spring.

Going to try out the area farther from the parking space, across the same large field we’ve been using. Should have a bit better cover.

We will be playing in the partially wooded/ open area that is at the very front of the park. This is the area you drive past on your way to the front entrance if you're coming from SE 14th.

This event is BYOD (Bring Your Own Darts) I will NOT be providing ammo. Please mark your blasters so they do not get lost. Mark your darts if you need them back, otherwise no guarantees.

It is costing me $25 to reserve the space for each war. I am asking for a encouraged but not mandatory $5 donation to help cover the cost of the event. Any extra will be put into a community dart pool, or other things to improve the event.

This is a superstock event, meaning that modified blasters are allowed, within reason. There is a 130 FPS cap, so if you're knowledgeable enough to know your blaster shoots harder than that, please leave it at home. I'm going to try a 130 fps limit to start, depending what sort of ages/players show up that might be changed for future events.

If you're not sure, I will have a chronobarrel for testing.If you own some variety of actual chronograph, please bring it! It would be incredibly helpful for me.

**What to bring-**

Your own Blaster(s) and Darts-

Large Water Bottle (Hydration is Key!)

Baseball Cap(s) (Planing on using these to indicate teams)

EYE PROTECTION- If I see you not wearing it, you will not be allowed to play - I will allow prescription glasses to be used, but think about it this way, safety glasses- $2 a pair, prescription glasses- several $100. If they get knocked off of your face accidentally, stepped on, broken, that's on you. I will have a few spares of safety glasses for people who forget, but do NOT count on there being some for you. Please bring all the pairs of safety glasses you have in case I do not have enough! I will also have 3 or so pairs of glasses that fit over normal prescription glasses.

Any blasters you are willing to loan out- front loading blasters like Hammershots, Disruptors, Nightfinders, Firestrikes, etc work best for this. Mag fed blasters are too easy to jam. Ones without smart AR's are even better.

Folding tables to lay out blasters/stuff on- if you have one, please bring it! There are no picnic tables, and t it would be a lot better if people could put their stuff on a table instead of on the ground. Folding canopies would be great too.

Lawn chairs to sit on- if you plan on not playing, you're going to be either sitting on the ground or something you bring.

FOOD! We will be playing for several hours with breaks in between rounds, so please bring some food for yourself so you don't get hungry . No need to bring food for other people, but if you want to, I won't stop you

A pistol for pistol rounds. (I will have a few spares)

A good attitude and a willingness to have fun!

**What NOT To Bring**

FVJ's/FVN's. No hard tipped darts, please. If the dart has a squishy head, its fine. Waffles, Accufakes, Elites, Worker, etc, all fine.

Realistic or All Black Painted Blasters. Please do not bring these. If you have a blaster that could look like an actual firearm from a distance, Leave It At Home. (Brightly colored blasters only please.) I have already informed the Police and the Park Department, but they would still have to come if someone reported a problem.

Anything that shoots over 130 FPS

Homemade Darts, also known as steffans or slugs. ( Other factory made half darts with soft heads are fine)

I am allowing riot sized shield's and lower- (if you have to ask if its too big then it probably is) broken by Rockets/Mega- can only use a pistol- no flywheel or mag fed blasters.

For real though, how are you still on about this.

All the adults and even kids younger than you in the community are mature enough to accept calling them blasters, I don't see why you have to be special about it. It's not even a purely political situation. The last thing any of us want is for some ignorant cop to shut down a game because of community negligence, or worse... It also helps us host open public games anywhere if we maintain the status that they are toys. And it is MUCH easier to get little kids to follow along if we all do it. So that's why every mod in the community has an understanding to just fiat the rule and make sure everyone follows suit.

 

It's kind of like the whole n00b-black paintjob. It doesn't make you cool, it just comes off as unlearned. Honestly if you're embarrassed to call them blasters, maybe take some time to grow up first.

To be blunt: Yes, you're going crazy. We have been insisting that they be called blasters for a long time - before I made this account, and that was over a decade ago. It's only more obvious as of late because people have been poking the beehive and being adamant that they have the right to use "gun", regardless of how it affects the community. And because of recent events (see Meaker's link) being more relevant as the online community has grown.

Insulting people telling you "please stop doing that, you know better" is why you've been seeing the response you've been getting. You've said, across different communities, that:

 

1. It's okay to call them guns because they aren't actually blasters, no matter what the official terminology is.

2. Asking why the word gun is being restricted because "this isn't f***ing china"
3. Arguing with moderators after being told to stop. Across multiple communities with multiple mod teams.
 

Most people being told to say blaster instead of gun, they go "oh oops sorry", and that's the end of it. You're the one arguing with people and bringing up the topic with hostility, that's why you're being met in kind.

 

If I understand what you've been saying so far across a few platforms (reddit, discords): You understand that we should be using blaster instead of gun because the public gets upset, but don't like how we are forcing it in every context, even in private.

Here's an analogy: Racial slurs are not okay in public. You do not use them because they immediately tell people that you are an insensitive/prejudiced individual. Just because you're in private and the public can't hear you, that does not make it okay to use racial slurs. It just lets everyone in the community know that you're willing to use those words, and makes you look bad. Especially because you know the harm those words can do.

so i have been noticing a lot of people have been cracking down on using nerf gun instead of nerf blaster saying that it isnt a toy gun yadayadayada i do see where they are coming from but most of those points are due to the political climate and before people began to be crazy scared of guns nerf gun was less feared but still discouraged due to it being not the greatest word and i just want to know people beliefs on the shift in the fear of the term "nerf gun" or "toy gun"

the pusher is stuck probably do some locks or something maybe a short i will be able to help you if you send a picture of the internals of the rapidstrike but a good start would be looking up basic mod guides and removing the locks electronic and mechanical

id say find a 2 dual cages (cages with 4 motors and 4 flywheels) or 4 standard cages and make the space for them in the shell

i think there should be a way to do city wide nerf wars that take place in small towns or cities i know in iowa there are plenty of both but not the people so i just wanted to throw that idea out there

this is Thunder the loser in my storm line of blasters it is a range master extreme that has a gray paint and primer base coat was hydro dipped in krylon short cuts purple and black and then has hand painted lightning using model paint
the symbols under thunder mean thunder in Katakana Japanese and in the upper left corner of the gun (left being towards the barrel) is my signature, ネコ (neko) which means cat in Katakana Japanese (i did both in Katakana cause it made the symbols easier to paint)

this is my first hydro dip ever done i did a base coat of gray paint and primer (dont remember the brand all i know is that it is great paint) and dipped it into krylon short cuts black and purple

so i have range master eXtreme by buzzbee that i want to mod and paint so how do i go on doing that?

I'm not familiar with that board or the chipset it uses. Whatever chip you use needs to have an I2C pin and 2 external interrupts, and the board needs the corresponding pinouts. Off-brand Arduino uno's are inexpensive, I recommend just picking one up if you're unsure about compatibility.

Blaster, we make homemade blasters.

All the stuff to build the mk-8 will be posted in the pinned thread at the top. Start there, IIRC from nothing youre talking $30-50, but it only really costs $15 or so to build a blaster.

SNAPs and Rainbows should be similar, depends on the materials and methods you use though. Lexan costs more than wood but you can make finer cuts in it, and PVC fittings usually cost more than something you make but are easier. Ordering from McMaster is more than buying in store unless youre building large quantities of blasters to use all the stuff they ship you. There are really too many variables to just tell you what will be best, other than to tell you to look up the Mk8 thread and do that.
