#155773 Guitar Lessons
Posted by Wax on 14 May 2008 - 04:26 AM in Off Topic
Reading sheet music straight to guitar is hard because there's about a billion ways to play any given note on various strings, or using harmonics, or whatever you feel like. It would be a valuable skill, if only because you'd be able to look at a fretboard and know what note on each fret for each string is, which would be beneficial for improv especially. Reading music for guitar is not a very emphasized skill, and I sure can't do it with any reasonable speed, but I have been reading music itself since first grade due to learning the piano, and that background has been useful.

I've been playing for nearly 2 years and I suggest using tabs with a program called guitar pro. It's really useful.
Guitar Pro also costs $60. For a program with some similar functions and also a high number of existing tabs I suggest Power Tab, which is free. It's not the same caliber of product, but at least it's legal (I'm assuming everyone pirates Guitar Pro).
That being said, an actual guitar teacher is always preferable, assuming you're actually dedicated to becoming an accomplished guitarist. You can teach yourself a lot, but having someone hold you accountable for improving as well as being able to show you specific techniques will help a lot. For individual song tutorials though, I usually just search on Youtube until I find someone that actually knows how to play the song and has a decent tutorial.
An aside: marshmallows dipped in Nutella are amazing. Do it now.
#154034 What Cod4 Weapon Do You Use?

M16 with red dot, Desert Eagle, 3 frags, deep impact and stopping power
M40A3, silenced M4, bandoleer, overkill (obviously), and iron lungs
W1200 with foregrip, Desert Eagle, double tap, and steady aim
G36C with red dot, Desert Eagle, 3 frags, stopping power, and deep impact
Mini Uzi, 3 frags, stopping power, and steady aim
Usually that last class is a silenced one, somewhere along the lines of a silenced M4 / MP5, random first perk, UAV jammer and a random last perk. Just foolin around for now.
Oh yeah, I almost always play on hardcore. Just a more interesting gameplay type, not necessarily more difficult.

Please tell me that the title was intentional and that it wasn't just the filter.
It was the filter, everytime i wrote loser it changed it into looser.
Good thing you know how to spell loser. The title was intentional, unless the filter misspells words now. Besides, would that title make any sense with the reverse-filtered form of loser?
Mondo ranges, but I wouldn't want to play with that, either with it or against it. Too long, too cumbersome, too slow, and too painful. Interesting, fun to shoot shit with, but not practical for a war.

I think when noobs just beg for a XBow even though it has a very good reputation they are being a hypocrit big time. IF YOU LIKE A GUN LIKE IT BECAUSE YOU'VE USED AND LIKE THE PREFORMANCE,ECT.
What, you can't desire to own something that you haven't already used? Well crap, I guess I can't want a Corvette cause I've never sat down in one.
I have no problem using old or new blasters, however, the nostalgia of the old blasters is part of the reason I like them. I remember going out and buying SM1500s and PCs, receiving an LNL or a DT3 or a BnA (all brand new) as gifts when I was considerably younger. The guns of my childhood hold a special place in my heart.
That being said, the LS I've got coming is going to be kickass. Definitely looking forward to it.

I kind of don't see the difference between my Crayola Barrel BBB and this one. Except that the cap is used.
Edit: Never mind, I see the difference.
To make it so your post actually contains some potentially useful information, you could describe what the difference is. Maybe provide us with a link to what your BBB is like so that we can see it for ourselves.

I would say have it, if west of the mountains, then SoPugetSound, or up around Port Orchard, but East of teh mountains, probably around the Tri-cities. I could'nt make it if it was in Eastern Wa, though.
I'll be in the Tri Cities for the summer so I'd be down for one if there was enough interest.

Oh, suggestion on the pictures. If you need a closeup of a part like a marker cap, hold the camera further away and zoom in. It can only focus on things beyond a certain minimum distance away. Alternatively, your camera may have a macro mode that you could utilize.

What did you attach the barrels to the turret with originally? If possible I would take the barrels off and re-glue them, making sure to seal each barrel before moving on to the next barrel.
I then epoxied the barrels in place.
It's amazing what a little bit of reading can reveal.

I have no suggestions other than what's already been posted here. However, Frost Vectron's suggestion is the most sound in my mind.

Edit: Oh yeah, I'd find a keyring or something to attach to your pin to make it easier to fire. Looks a little awkward, especially under pressure.
#29463 Powerclip Qestions

2) I don't know of anyone to replace the tank, per se, but I have a friend who attached a huge PVC tank to it. The tank went on his back. The tank allowed him to have a lot more air to shoot, and hence, more air to shoot darts with. It's not exactly the Monster PC, but it's similar. I don't see much of a reason to modify the tank, except for increased air volume.
3) Personally, I prefer the inner-tube-over-the-tank method. Looks better than rubber bands, and cutting the bladder is just bad. The inner tube increases the pressure of the air in the tank, but this should only result in an increased ROF. The range could be increased by replacing the spring in the piston. The air pushes the spring&piston assemble back, and the spring pushes the piston back forward. The forward action is what actually shoots the darts. A stiffer spring would result in higher range, but decreased ROF.
4) Except for the very few homemade ones, you can only get extra clips from extra Powerclips.

a) It makes more sense.
b) You wouldn't be able to fire the first dart if it advanced the clip/turret before firing the dart.
I don't quite understand all of your post, but I just thought I'd bring these points up.

Edit:
Ooops, I forgot to answer your other question. Yes, "nesting" crayloas and PVC is just like you described it. The crayola goes inside the PVC. Only problem with doing that on the AT3k is that the barrels are too close together for PVC to fit. Bummer.
