#81823 Team Stealth's Nerf Website

Posted by Jakethesnake on 14 May 2006 - 05:53 PM in General Nerf

That's not even your idea! Tidge came up with that, I hope you got permission from him to post that because you didn't even mention his name in your "writeup".

#74810 Armageddon '06 Planning Thread

Uh guys, these are just nerf guns...

Lets have fun but try not to make it a blood battle.

#74627 Armageddon '06 Planning Thread

I need to find a pretty cheap hotel, but I'll be coming down for this one so count me in.

#73868 Vidio Games

Posted by Jakethesnake on 22 February 2006 - 12:15 PM in Off Topic

I guess after reading this I think our younger demographic does not appreciate the pure enjoyment out of 2d vidEo games. Here's a list of some of the best from each nintendo system.

NES-
1. Metroid
2. Legend of Zelda
3. Excitebike

SNES-
1. Zelda Link to the Past
2. Super Mario World (so many good memories from that game)
3. U.N. Squadron, the most under appreciated game from the SNES line.

N64-
1. Goldeneye - no contest
2. Diddy Kong Racing
3. Super Smash Bros
- so many more but not enough space

Gamecube-
1. Super Smash Bros. Melee
2. Star Wars Rogue Squadron II
3. Mario Kart Double Dash

Gameboy original-
1. Super Mario 6 Golden Coins
2. Kirby's Dreamland
3. Donkey Kong

Gameboy Color-
1. Super Mario Bros. Deluxe

I bought a game boy advance but could never really get into the games, plus they were getting more and more expensive. This is just a list of my personal favorite nintendo games. X-box and P2P have their place as well, but in my mind nintendo will always be the best.

Legend of Zelda a Link to the Past . . . no contest, the best game of all time.

#71273 An Actual "nite Finder" Mod

Posted by Jakethesnake on 19 January 2006 - 08:54 PM in Modifications

I love the maglite integration, but the e-tape ruins all the wonderful clean work you did.  I suggest buying some styrene sheet, (the cheapest route is to buy a plastic sign from Home Depot/Lowe's, which are usually styrene)  and build a sort of box around it.  You needn't remove the e-tape, just hide it with the styrene.  Then give the gun a nice paint job, and you'll have the nicest NF I've seen yet on the boards.

Anima, I'm posting this with the utmost respect to your work and this is by no means a flame, but why the hell would you do something like you're suggesting? His mod provides all the ingredients of a fully functionable gun if you were to take it in a war, doing all that extra crap reminds me of these cheap riced out cars I'm seeing taking over this country. Keep up the good work spectre and very nice writeup, the pics are worth so much when posting a mod.

#70621 Problems With Nitefinder

Posted by Jakethesnake on 08 January 2006 - 01:43 AM in Modifications

If you don't like stefans, wrap a layer of clear packing tape around the dart, it adds a little bit of weight making it fly straighter and also makes it much more durable.

#70347 Announcing The First Annual Now (nerf Oregon War)

Posted by Jakethesnake on 03 January 2006 - 01:58 AM in Nerf Wars

Yes, it is a christmas tree farm during december and a small tamed forest during the other months. I can probably muster up 1 or 2 people so at the least we'll have 6 people, I can probably round up a few more friends but 3 on 3 is at least playable. Playing "Attack and Defend" with the tree fort in the picture is extremely fun. I too use only micros so that shouldn't be much of a problem. As for dates, march is fine, I just need a couple weeks notice to take the day off from work.

#70325 Announcing The First Annual Now (nerf Oregon War)

Posted by Jakethesnake on 02 January 2006 - 08:22 PM in Nerf Wars

It's not quite in albany, about 15-20 minutes outside of town. I live on the outskirts of a tiny town called Scio, not sure if you've heard of it. That would be great if you can come. It's looking like a pretty small war, but we don't need an extremely large amount of people to have an enjoyable afternoon of nerfing. If your prices are cheap I'd be interested in most of your guns. As for where we are nerfing at, here are a few pictures of my place.

#70260 Announcing The First Annual Now (nerf Oregon War)

Posted by Jakethesnake on 01 January 2006 - 11:50 PM in Nerf Wars

Alright I've been a member on the forums here for a bit and there's never (according to my nerf war knowledge) been an official nerf out in oregon so as of 2006 there is going to be a semi-annual Nerf Oregon War. Ogopogo and I are organizing the war and there are no official dates yet, but contact us or more prefferably post in this thread if you are able to attend. There is going to be one war around spring time and one during the fall. The wars will be held at my house which is located about 30 min. south of Salem. I know to about %99 of you this post doesn't apply but I wanted to announce this so I can get the word out. I will have pictures of the location up tommorrow.

I credit Ogopogo for taking the initiative to try and organize something I was too lazy to start by myself

#70112 When Titans Fall

Posted by Jakethesnake on 29 December 2005 - 07:32 PM in Modifications

That has got to be one of the stupidest ideas I've heard in a long time, among others, are "opening up the airtank" and simply "put some epoxy around the pin". If you guys have no experience with modding a titan, or from your answers, any gun at all, then just don't post.

#70073 When Titans Fall

Posted by Jakethesnake on 29 December 2005 - 02:31 AM in Modifications

Just try the 3 in 1 oil on it, what's the worst that can happen? If that doesn't work then report back.

#69735 Open Letter To New Members And Admins

Posted by Jakethesnake on 22 December 2005 - 10:36 PM in General Nerf

I agree, a simple one post flaming is helpful to a point, but when it continues on for pages, that's just wasting everyone's time. If I was a moderator, and a newb got flamed for doing something obviously wrong and the newb can't admit he was wrong, I would ban him immediately. Tolerating stuff like that will not ever help.

edit I love seeing idiots get banned if you haven't guessed.

#69732 Open Letter To New Members And Admins

Posted by Jakethesnake on 22 December 2005 - 10:23 PM in General Nerf

I would have to respectfully disagree duxburian, when I was new I made a couple of stupid posts and had some grammar issues at first, but after being crapped all over by the other members, I realized that I better straighten up my act, get out or get banned. If a new guy doesn't recognize that he better behave, then he deserves to get banned. Flaming helped me become a better member.

#69505 Party Poppers

Posted by Jakethesnake on 19 December 2005 - 12:00 AM in Homemades

I'm pretty sure they just disected the party popper and took the spring out of it, I had a couple of them and the springs had some pretty good power to them.

#68978 Question About The Far

Posted by Jakethesnake on 10 December 2005 - 11:43 AM in Homemades

But making a working airsoft rifle is way better than having mommy buy you one.

#68449 Strongest Adhesive

Posted by Jakethesnake on 27 November 2005 - 01:22 PM in Modifications

For plastic to plastic bonding, I think superglue works the best, sometimes there is an oily film on nerf gun shells, if you sand the 2 pieces that are being glued together a bit, and roughen the surface, it tends to glue very well. There is no #1 adhesive out there, each application is better in one area or another but I have the best luck with super glue.

#68421 Wtf

Posted by Jakethesnake on 27 November 2005 - 12:08 PM in Off Topic

this is probably just a second account made by him to piss everyone off.

For sure, this is his first post, does he actually believe that we'll think some random guy with a random french username just decided to make his first post on this subject, that is another reason why you got banned, you're an idiot. But you can't help it, you're french.

#68184 Support Our Troops

Thank you veggie and to all the armed forces, it's too easy for us to forget you guys, I'm so thankfull that you guys are out there doing that, much appreciation. We take it for granted too often. Have a great thanksgiving.

Hasbro let us try out the crossfire at maniac 2 and here's what I have to say about it.

#67849 Why

Posted by Jakethesnake on 16 November 2005 - 11:00 PM in Off Topic

I like nerf more than airsoft or paintball for almost every reason stated above, I don't know if anybody mentioned the spray and pray tactic involved with airsoft and paintball but that doesn't work when you are nerfing (in most cases). When you nerf you have to make every shot count, shelling out half a dozen rounds is common practice in paintball and airsoft, but in nerf if you don't have a decent aim, running around shooting round after round into oblivion doesn't generally cut it, which is what I see in every other shooting sport. I like nerf the most because you spend 1 minute planning 1 shot, in airsoft you most likely spend 5 seconds shooting 12+ rounds.
Also, mommy can buy you the most expensive airsoft gun and you can be ready to play the moment you open the package. If mommy buys you a NIB X-bow and you take it to a war, you will get owned, you have to take the time to modify it, which adds a sense of accomplishment and personalization, something you don't get from airsoft, and I know you can customize your airsoft gun but not for $10, which is what it will cost you to turn the crappiest gun into one badass piece of foam flinging doom.

#67273 New Google Group:nerf Guns

Posted by Jakethesnake on 07 November 2005 - 01:51 AM in General Nerf

Nerf is underground because %99.9 of the world does not know what a quad cpvc'd at2k is.

Edit Viper beat me and I'm sorry if I started a discussion that went off topic in your thread vipe.

#67252 New Google Group:nerf Guns

Posted by Jakethesnake on 06 November 2005 - 09:40 PM in General Nerf

I just think it would change the meaning of nerf if it became less "underground".

#67185 New Google Group:nerf Guns

Posted by Jakethesnake on 06 November 2005 - 12:56 AM in General Nerf

With all due respect to viper, I don't think I want nerf getting much more exposure than it already does. I mean, nerf isn't nerf unless it's underground you know? I just think it would change nerf if all of a sudden this site grows by 1,000 members overnight. It just wouldn't be the same.

#66845 Alternative Barrel Material

Those are generally too short for any kind of "effective" blaster.

#66684 Styling Glue Help

Posted by Jakethesnake on 28 October 2005 - 12:31 AM in Modifications

I dunno about that, but I was using super glue the other day, and accidentally dripped some on my shoelaces and they started on fire, I'm not even joking, my shoelaces started smoking and I touched them with my hand and it burnt me, I'm not sure why this happened but it was the craziest thing ever.

#66682 Wild Fire Problem

Posted by Jakethesnake on 27 October 2005 - 11:57 PM in Modifications

I'm going to guess it's a faulty check valve; you MAY have to replace your pump.

~ompa

Ompa is exactly right, the check valve is broken, there's nothing to trap the air in the tank once it's primed, it just flows back out. I've never had that problem with my WF before so I'm not sure how to fix it but you can't really break it anymore, so just poke around in there and see what you come up with.

I'm about an hour and a half away from portland so I could make it for sure.

#65908 Pick An MP3 Player

Posted by Jakethesnake on 16 October 2005 - 03:01 AM in Off Topic

Go for a nano, I don't know who above said that some other mp3 player had a better gui, but I don't care how much you hate ipods, the gui on ipod's are amazing. I personally have a nano, and have had no problems with it, just buy a protective case for it, the screen scratches pretty easily.

#65142 Semi-auto Powerclip

Why do with ten darts what you can do with three? Or two?

Are you a woman or something? Because that could explain it.

#65072 Semi-auto Powerclip

It's possible

Hey maybe I can take some video of the storm and post it.

You should, that would be neat. Piney, that's a good idea about keeping a container full of water around, sounds like you're pretty experienced there.
