#314791 Where To Buy Modding Materials

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 25 April 2012 - 11:27 AM in Modifications

McMaster. Item 2044T43

#314743 GRSCB

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 23 April 2012 - 09:09 PM in Homemades

Have you tried any range comparisons to hoppers, RSCB's, or any other multi-round system?
I think this is a really cool and easy idea man, good job.

#312544 Check Valve Locaton on Titan

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 07 March 2012 - 12:09 AM in Modifications

Yes, there is indeed a check in the tank. If you look at the assembly, if there wasn't, the titan would have lost all pressure with the firing of the hornet.

#312510 Eye Protection Is Key

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 05 March 2012 - 08:54 PM in General Nerf

I would require them at stock wars. Taggers to the eye can do massive damage. I had a hit in HVZ once that actually sliced up my contact lens, not fun at all.

#312338 Eye Protection Is Key

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 03 March 2012 - 05:07 PM in General Nerf

Z87.1 will stop .22 rounds, so they will be fine.
Ski goggles do impair a bit of your vision, but are not bad. Think what a hoodie cuts out of your vision.
A solid hit to anything not goggles will bounce back and cut or bruise you with sufficient force.

#312318 Eye Protection Is Key

anything with the ansi Z87.1 rating. Nothing nerf will punch through those. And pretty much every hardware and walmart or target carries them.

#311113 Looking for Basic NightFinder Mod

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 12 February 2012 - 04:28 PM in Modifications

Go to the mod directory, and scroll down to the nightfinder. There is a ton of different mods for that blaster.

#311043 Homemade Rifle (Longshot-esque)

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 11 February 2012 - 03:15 AM in Homemades

Very nice man. How heavy is this thing?

#310722 .22 Master Exam Design

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 05 February 2012 - 04:34 AM in Off Topic

... A .22 round can most definitively be lethal. Anything propelled by gunpowder or any sort of explosive can be. Think of what some of the high power nerf blasters do, especially if you have ever seen the head of a stephan fail. Then multiply that power by a lot.

EDIT: If you look on the side of most ammunition, the lethal range is labeled on it. The .22 LR I have at home is labeled at just over one mile for lethal range.

#310673 Longstrike Upgrade (MK.1)

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 04 February 2012 - 01:46 PM in Modifications

Very nice. Would it be possible to put the pump, bladder, and regulator in the stock?

#310637 .22 Master Exam Design

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 03 February 2012 - 06:23 PM in Off Topic

.22 LR is the most common, by a great margin.

It is a very simple design. Are you just designing, or are you going to actually be building one of these?
I am curious what sort of action you are going to have.

#310593 Maverick AR Mod Question

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 02 February 2012 - 04:37 PM in Modifications

I suggest Blue's brassed recon mod. I finished one up a week or so ago. While noticeably better ranges, a point blank shot really does not hurt at all. And any springer with its ARs out will always make bad noises when dry fired, so just don't do it.

#310566 First Homemade project.

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 02 February 2012 - 12:08 AM in Homemades

I wouldn't use either of the fish pumps. I do not think they are capable of producing very much pressure. Dual action pumps are nice, but require a little bit more effort due to both motions compressing air.

#310511 Another Simple 3D Printed Blaster

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 01 February 2012 - 12:23 PM in Homemades

This would have an insane amount of uses. Have you tried any other nerf related prints?

#310371 Maverick AR Mod Question

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 30 January 2012 - 07:11 PM in Modifications

If you stick a dart in and try to fire, and it just crashes, it means you failed to put the PT back on its catch points in the shell. otherwise, its just the normal modded noise.
As for AR removal,
Baghead's Maverick Mod

and if that isn't enough, this is a firefly, but same idea

EDIT: also, more maverick work

#310204 Question concerning brass and nested brass barrels

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 27 January 2012 - 01:29 AM in Modifications

17/32 nest quite nicely in 9/16 brass, close to airtight.
17/32 is normally the wanted barrel because its a good fit on most FBR. With the random streamlines I just picked up from my floor, 9/16 brass is a pretty dang nice air gun fit. You can use the 17/32 as just a tightening point in the back if you want, most of the PETG at2k write ups talk about how to do that one. I am not sure how long of barrels you are planning to put on it, but the streamlines took 3-4 good shakes to get them through a foot long section of the 9/16 brass, so keep that in mind with the front loading idea.

#310055 The UTorrent (Rear loading, CPVC, Spring addition Torrent)

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 24 January 2012 - 11:35 PM in Modifications

Very nice. Do you think you could install barrels that extend to the front of the shell?

#310041 Noob pvc question

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 24 January 2012 - 07:29 PM in Homemades

My bad, thought it was too long. If you are really really set on removing it, I suggest the cut it off as close as you can method, followed by lots of sanding and mild cutting very carefully. Its honestly probably worth just getting the new one though.

#310026 Noob pvc question

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 24 January 2012 - 04:40 PM in Homemades

just cut down the other end of the PVC, so you save your coupler.

#309835 Brassed Recon

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 20 January 2012 - 12:09 PM in Modifications

I don't think it would help much if it does. That part was almost gone in mine anyway, due to the ARs being drilled out.

Edit: So... after doing this mod, don't try to load a clip with the breech closed. I snapped the front plastic off two separate times now. Firing it where the breech just smacks into the dart does get about 15 foot range though.

#309832 Titan tank question

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 20 January 2012 - 09:34 AM in Modifications

Alright, thanks for the info guys.

#309827 Brassed Recon

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 20 January 2012 - 01:46 AM in Modifications

alright, as I am now attempting this, I have to ask you what you used to sand out the back part.

#309825 Titan tank question

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 20 January 2012 - 01:33 AM in Modifications

So, I have a titan tank I was playing with, and as the epoxy I had was kinda messed up, its been sitting for a week drying. While I was randomly pumping it up and discharging it, the tubing to the pump blew off at the tank. I had time to kinda stare incredulously at the two parts, and then checked the tank, to find to my surprise, the tank was still pressurized. So, I went looking to see if there was a check valve in the tank, and can not find anything about the actual internals of the tank. Could not find any so was wondering if anyone had ever opened up a titan tank and if there was a check valve in the tank itself?

#309768 NOOB Angel Breech Question

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 19 January 2012 - 01:30 PM in Modifications

Snakerbot's long shot is that way. you just smack it in with the breech closed. I cycled one clip through probably ~50 in a day on it, with no visible damage to either the clip or breech. And the clip was entirely stock.

#309710 Scrollsaw Problems

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 17 January 2012 - 11:49 PM in General Nerf

In line with what Curly said, I would put something like packing tape over the area to be cut. I was cutting acrylic on a band saw, and it melted kinda like what yours is doing. All the melted bit stayed on the protective sheet and the cut was fine. Slowing it down would be the best I can suggest otherwise.

#309633 Nerf Vulcan

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 17 January 2012 - 01:06 PM in General Nerf

Its a Vulcan. There really isn't any performance difference in the models. Especially if you plan to mod it at all, it really does not matter which one it is.

#309524 Brassed Recon

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 15 January 2012 - 01:38 AM in Modifications

... you just added more to my work load... very nice. did you cut down the front part just so you wouldn't need to sand the whole thing out?

#309498 Guide To Barrel Material

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 14 January 2012 - 04:58 PM in Modifications

Out of curiousity, has anyone used this as a barrel material? The mcmaster part # is 2044T43

That would be the PETG you see on here

#309378 Nerf Shotgun Comparison

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 11 January 2012 - 03:18 PM in Modifications

With your idea for the 6 round absolver shell, just make a little black piece out of some scrap barrel, fill it with FBR and glue, and proceed as normal for the rest of the shell.

I have a gun built off of a hornet tank that I shotgun load. The problem I found was that it puts all the darts in a very tight pattern.

#309363 Nerf Shotgun Comparison

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 10 January 2012 - 08:19 PM in Modifications

http://nerfhaven.com...showtopic=10831

That is the shotgun I use, on a beserker. just build the shells, and you can coupler them to whatever. You can also do this build with fewer barrels, if you so wish. and on the ROF, just have multiple shells to swap til you can reload used shells.

#308311 Right, well, I found this interesting thing...

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 14 December 2011 - 11:47 PM in General Nerf

Personally, I just keep 2-3 MQ-1 Predator drones in my garage for use in those serious nerf situations. A few high power scopes are always necessarily. Laser sights, both visible and non, are pretty helpful in those dark, close quarters urban battles.

#308287 Mega-Draw-Extended TTG (M-DET)

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 14 December 2011 - 01:48 PM in Modifications

Mine serves as a back up, usually holding it against a primary, so the smaller handle served me well. (HVZ, so it was easier to track two zed.) Does it have any issues firing from sharp bumps?

#308280 Mega-Draw-Extended TTG (M-DET)

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 14 December 2011 - 11:47 AM in Modifications

TTGs just feel better. This is awesome. Have you tried using any PVC barrel on it yet?

#307140 Alternative Ammo

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 07 November 2011 - 11:23 PM in Darts and Barrels

Another thing to consider is that there are many different designs for shotgun wadding. The part between the petals and the cup is shaped different in different brands and for different uses.

#306942 Big Salvo tank on SSPB Body

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 04 November 2011 - 01:32 PM in Modifications

Very nice. I love the entire Tiny Tim idea myself. What kind of darts are you using in this one?

#305446 CS-70 Marauder

Posted by Swiftone1990 on 06 October 2011 - 09:05 PM in Modifications

Have you thought about using polycarb on aluminum plates on the sides to hold the shells together?
