#121311 Chessler's Longshot Mod

Posted by Chessler on 27 August 2007 - 06:40 PM in Modifications

Posted ImagePosted Image

All I did was to remove the Air Restrictor and to add a NiteFinder spring to the stock spring.

For a better comfort while aiming I added some foam pads:

The Front Sight can be taken off if necessary:

#121310 Chessler's Diy Scope

Posted by Chessler on 27 August 2007 - 06:24 PM in Homemades

First of all, I know how stupid it sounds to put a scope on something that won't shoot that far anyway, but I do it mainly for style purposes. So here we go:

The Parts I used are:
(The parts in the pictures are leftovers from the mod)

Posted Image

1. Duct Tape
2. Leftover Clip-On Thingy from the Dart Tag Pistols
3. Cheap Plastic Lenses
4. Carpet
5. Foam
6. Cardboard Tube
7. Hot Glue
8. X-acto Knife (to cut the holes for the Clip-On Thingy in the Cardboard Tube)

Now a few pictures of the Scope on the few guns in my posession with the necessary rail:

The Maverick

The NiteFinder

The Longshot (Yes, I finally got one too)

and the working Scope in Comparison to the Longshot Scope:

(I'll do a seperate thread on the modded Longshot, because it rather belongs into Modifications than Homemades.)

#116293 Anyone Want To Join My Forum?

Posted by Chessler on 18 July 2007 - 08:45 AM in Off Topic

What is this forum about?

That was so pointless it hurts.

six-five-two already explained it.

#111382 Iphone!

Posted by Chessler on 15 June 2007 - 06:59 AM in Off Topic

The difference isn't nearly as great as it used to be, but two reasons are:

1)Sub-pixel font rendering. On Windows, a typeface will be physically changed to fit into the pixel grid. For example, bolds are heavier than in print, and typefaces can look lighter than print. A Mac's font rendering is truer to the actual printed page.

2)Better color management. Workflow color management is overall better, as software solutions are built into the system.

Nothing that couldn't be integrated into a Windows Operating System.

Ergo: No Reason for buying a Mac to me.

#110120 Nerfair

Posted by Chessler on 08 June 2007 - 06:30 PM in General Nerf

I hadn't got any trouble at airports yet concerning me carrying nerf guns in my luggage.

(But I was stupid enough to smash a blown up plastic bag around two security guards with Steyr rifles.)

(I was 13, damnit! Give me a break.)

#107810 What Instruments Do You Play?

Posted by Chessler on 27 May 2007 - 04:28 PM in Off Topic

Drums and Harmonica.

#105137 Mp3 Players/pmp/cd Player Etc.

Posted by Chessler on 12 May 2007 - 03:05 PM in Off Topic

I'm using my PSP to listen to a bunch of mp3's. I never needed anything else since then, I just don't see a reason in buying another mp3 player when I already have one.

#102584 Slingshot

Posted by Chessler on 25 April 2007 - 04:12 PM in Off Topic

They even had a commercial for the Slingshot? Weird.

If it only had enough force to make mimes fall into fountains, it would have been a major success.

#100237 Introducing The Eye-dart

Posted by Chessler on 23 February 2007 - 01:32 PM in Modifications

Quite an interesting idea.

Imagine how it must be for the guy at the wrong end of a Magstrike to face a bunch of eyes, flying directly at him.

#99522 Optimus Prime Battle Rig Blaster

Posted by Chessler on 09 February 2007 - 07:15 PM in General Nerf

Me and my friends said we should get a few of these, and give them to little kids, and have them pretend to be playing with trucks at a game. ;)

My god, that is ingenious! Nobody would suspect that!

#99480 Hasbro Reveals Nerf N-strike Disk Shot (nerf Skeet Shooting)

Posted by Chessler on 08 February 2007 - 04:12 PM in General Nerf

50 bucks, a wall plug and it shoots disks?

Maybe good for aim practice, but other than that it's too expensive.

#96538 Nerf Wiki

Posted by Chessler on 14 December 2006 - 06:48 PM in Site Feedback

Actually, I think it is a good idea, because that way you can get everything well organized.
Besides, NerfCenter could revive all available information about Nerf Blasters in a Nerf-Wiki.

I'd say we should just give it a go and see how it turns out.

#95662 Christmas List 2006

Posted by Chessler on 01 December 2006 - 07:34 AM in Off Topic

1.) Nothing, just good times with the family

That's it , I'm quite happy with the way things are in my life as of now.

#95008 Nerf In The Uk?

Posted by Chessler on 22 November 2006 - 05:10 PM in General Nerf

I saw a few blasters at ebay.co.uk, but those weren't made by Hasbro. (a Big Salvo, a Speedloader and a few Tek Blasters for example)

#94644 Next-gen Systems

Posted by Chessler on 16 November 2006 - 04:33 PM in Off Topic

I'd go with the Wii and the Xbox360.

The PS3 is just too expensive at the moment, besides they might release a sleeker version after a few years, so I'll just wait.

Besides, anybody heard about the offer on Amazon for the 360? I'm glad I waited until a massive price drop rolled in.

#92320 Penny Arcade!

Talking (erm...writing) about webcomics, anyone noticed today's comic on Applegeeks?

#92027 German Dictionary.

Posted by Chessler on 16 October 2006 - 03:57 PM in Off Topic

I live in Austria, German is my native language. You can trust me if I say Jungfrau means virgin.

to RAMBO: Yeah, I missed out on that post.

#91905 German Dictionary.

Posted by Chessler on 14 October 2006 - 05:32 PM in Off Topic

I use LEO myself, but if you need to know a word or two, you can also ask me if you want.

All I know is how to say virgin in German. Guudentite!

Jungfrau is the german word for virgin, "Guudentite" is not even a word.

#90867 Magstrike Video

To pull a Spoon is going straight into my dictionary...

#89279 Sweden?

For things like this there is a map on Frappr which shows Nerfer's location worldwide.

#89215 Briefcase Interagation

Posted by Chessler on 06 September 2006 - 05:52 PM in Modifications

I'm getting a very simple idea here. All you need is:

- a Newspaper
- a Nightfinder

Get it? And it's way cheaper!

#86386 Dr. Physics And Nerf Videos

Looks like the Target Audience for Nerf is now age 16+. And I like it.

#85129 Interstella 5555

I own the DVD too. After seeing "One More Time" and the other Music Videos on TV, I just had to see the full Movie.

This morning I heard from our local radio that the Italian player called his mother names.

Thanks Cx, thanks Julie!

#80177 Coral Viper Mod

Good job on your Coral Viper, can't wait to see your Mod on the Nitro-Quad!

#75125 Big Bad Jean

Posted by Chessler on 04 March 2006 - 06:39 AM in Modifications

First of all, thanks for the feedback guys! I'll PM CX about it today.

Did you use a Dremel to cut out the trigger hole for the BBB/NQ?

Yes I did, I'm not modding anything without my dremel nowadays.

The first thing that came to mind when I saw it was the LnL.

Posted Image

I noticed that similarity too, it guess it's the handle.

#75023 Who Are You?

Posted by Chessler on 03 March 2006 - 12:24 PM in General Nerf

I'd have to go with 9)The Gearhead, because that is exactly my status in Nerf.

#75022 Big Bad Jean

Posted by Chessler on 03 March 2006 - 12:20 PM in Modifications

Instead of making a new topic I thought it is probably better to post this here.

Last night I experimented with what I could do with the handle and found the Nitro-Quad.

Ranges are around 60 feet.
