#189021 What Inspired You To Nerf...

Posted by nerfboi on 11 November 2008 - 12:36 PM in General Nerf

For me, it was buying something cheap from the toy isle. It was the 1st Gen. NF. and then I wanted to see what I could do with it(mainly make darts for it) and I stumble on this.

#189014 My Bigbow

Posted by nerfboi on 11 November 2008 - 11:53 AM in Homemades

Man, don't even bother. I'm pretty sure it ill get over 100'. How much did this cost to make? Adnd how long is the PC? I might make this from the extra(if any) after I make CS's External Tank. But that's if I get money anytime soon.

Posted by nerfboi on 10 November 2008 - 01:00 PM in Homemades

#187008 Pump Shotty Issues.

Posted by nerfboi on 02 November 2008 - 01:57 PM in Modifications

You might want to try what I use for dart-block material then: flat wire, as dropped by the street-cleaning truck.

Another handy source of spring stainless is windshield wiper blades. There are two thin strips on each blade. This is the time of year when everyone should be installing new blades or inserts anyway... I use this stuff for all sorts of projects. I made a pair of tweezers last week.

You can also use them to make lock picks. But not to give out any ideas. On topic: were you just using the recon spring? If so, that's probably why. use the stock and the recon spring. See if that works.

EDIT: Nevermind. I found the #18 O rings at Ace Hardware. I hopefully will be making one this weekend.

#186569 My First Self Designed Homemade

#186158 My First Self Designed Homemade

Posted by nerfboi on 28 October 2008 - 10:20 PM in Homemades

I just found out that a 1 1/4 rubber fender washer fits inside thin wall 1" PVC. But then again, it would be kinda making another snap, just smaller version. I jsut thought that I should share that. Also, maybe you could make something along the lines of Carrtoon's homemade. the reverse plunger/barrel system. Just a thought.

#185787 The Official Snapbow Writeup

Posted by nerfboi on 26 October 2008 - 09:54 PM in Homemades

Yeah. Just patients. I got it from Carbon's Snap 1.5. Actually, since my rotary tool crapped out on me, I had to did those cuts by hand with a hacksaw blade, power drill, and needle files.. It's not fun. I got like 3 cuts on my hand from it. As for my handle, I just followed Carbons Snap Mk.2 write up. I used 1" PVC. I also have one of CS' slide breeches. Pic's in a little bit.

#185766 The Snap-1 Compact

Posted by nerfboi on 26 October 2008 - 09:12 PM in Homemades

It's all about personal preference. It's also really small. That's another plus.

#185762 The Snap-1 Compact

Posted by nerfboi on 26 October 2008 - 09:00 PM in Homemades

If a pistol/sidearm get 50' accurately, than that's more than enough. Nice jog. I like it. But it kinda looks bulky.

#185621 My First Self Designed Homemade

Posted by nerfboi on 26 October 2008 - 10:29 AM in Homemades

#185520 Silicone Spray

Anyone know if this is good enough also? The one you pictured Split, it says it have some petroleum distillate. Does it affect your guns?

#185157 Silicone Spray

Posted by nerfboi on 23 October 2008 - 06:53 PM in General Nerf

Yeah, I found that out the hard way. I bought that prduct a while ago. I just decided to look it up today. Is there any that you recommend? Also, I bought this o ring lubricant. It didn't work. I just dried my guns out.

#185153 Silicone Spray

Posted by nerfboi on 23 October 2008 - 06:44 PM in General Nerf

OK, I'm having the worst time with silicone spray. I have this "heavy Duty" silicone spray. But when I used it on my NF, I messed up my plunger tube. It dried it out and made it brittle. So what I'm asking is, what silicone spray do you guys use? I need one that doesn't have any petroleum additives, isn't "hydrocarbon" propelled, and is safe to use on Nerf guns. I looked at the +Bow write up and saw that CS uses the same brand as me, but not the same one as me. CS, where did you get yours? Can anyone recommend to me a good silicone spray

#184852 Bbb Reinforcement

Posted by nerfboi on 21 October 2008 - 10:08 PM in Modifications

Agreed. That's the EXACT same place mine snapped. Nice write up. Do you know what kind of washers they were? Like what size?

#184420 Supermaxx 3000

Posted by nerfboi on 18 October 2008 - 03:36 PM in Modifications

Try to spray silicone or even WD40 to make it loose.

#184404 Night Finder 3 In 1

Posted by nerfboi on 18 October 2008 - 12:41 PM in Modifications

KBarker said to get polycarbonate tubing from McMaster. It's the 1" inside diameter.

#184232 Leaking Out The Valve?

Posted by nerfboi on 16 October 2008 - 08:52 PM in Modifications

Just don't use WD40. It will degrade your seal. Use silicone spray.
sorry for the off topic question, but can anyone post a GOOD silicone spray that doesn't have any petroleum or, in this case, safe for plastics and rubber? The one I have has an acetone propellant and messes up plastics if I use it.

#184078 Leaking Out The Valve?

Posted by nerfboi on 16 October 2008 - 09:09 AM in Modifications

Spray some silicone spray and pump it up once, then fire. Repeat again but this time pump it up to max, and just let it sit there and see if it leaks again. I did this to my titan and it work fine.
