#270653 Modding Nitefinder

Posted by Hi Yah on 29 March 2010 - 06:54 AM in Modifications

Pipe cutters are the best way to do it, but seeing that you are a noob, I doubt you have them. Light a candle and rotate the plunger tube over it to soften the glue. Be careful to not kept the plastic.

#270463 At2k Turret

Posted by Hi Yah on 27 March 2010 - 10:20 AM in Modifications

Dip the barrel side of the turret in boiling water of about 10 seconds. This should soften the glue and the barrels should come out.

#270354 Washer Based Plunger Heads And Replacement Plunger Tubes - Please Help

Posted by Hi Yah on 26 March 2010 - 06:14 AM in Homemades

The PETG I got from Petco only said "1" thinwall tubing."

#270122 How Do I Mod An 'orange Logo Nitefinder'?

Posted by Hi Yah on 23 March 2010 - 08:16 PM in Modifications

The easiest way is to hold it over a lit candle and rotate it until you can remove the AR assembly.

#269717 Sharpshooter I Overhaul

Posted by Hi Yah on 20 March 2010 - 08:30 AM in Modifications

Try having only 1 rubber washer. This should loosen up the seal, I think it has too mich friction giving you crappy ranges.

#269643 A New Petg Breech

Posted by Hi Yah on 19 March 2010 - 06:58 PM in Darts and Barrels

Why not just use e-tape to allow the PETG to slide in the PVC, instead of the brass?

#269060 Doubled Recon With Twin Drums

Posted by Hi Yah on 13 March 2010 - 08:13 PM in Modifications

Could you post a write-up on the raider? It's looks damn good! Great job on the recon too!

#268363 Longshot Optimal Spring Size/type

Posted by Hi Yah on 07 March 2010 - 05:18 PM in Modifications

When you add springs to your ls make sure to reinforce the boltsled. I have a red bbb spring added to mine and it's great.

#268347 The Coolest Thing...

Posted by Hi Yah on 07 March 2010 - 02:27 PM in General Nerf

As Vacc said, if he can't follow the rules, it's kind of irrelevant.

I am eternally wary of "official" nerf news unless it comes straight from Hasbro by way of a press release or from someone who has demonstrated a relationship in the past, such as OMC, Talio, etc.

Nerf has tried variant screws in the past, as well as just gluing their blaster shells together. I think they recognize that if they can make it, we can unmake it and change it. Therefore I predict that they will stay with the cheaper phillips head screws we have been seeing of late.

But, think of the electric eel, it has triangle screws and there isn't even an internal picture of it. I think these new screws will greatly cut down on the number of modders.

#268165 Dtb Singling

Posted by Hi Yah on 05 March 2010 - 06:49 PM in Modifications

Why would you ever do this? The only good thing about the dtb is it's rof, which you just got rid of.

#267289 Best Barrel For Stock Darts?

Posted by Hi Yah on 27 February 2010 - 09:12 PM in Modifications

CPVC drilled out with a 1/2" drill bit.

#267002 Pvc Nerf Gun Rack I Made

Posted by Hi Yah on 26 February 2010 - 07:49 AM in General Nerf

I like it, but the thing I like about peg boards is that they take the guns away from the floor giving you a bit more space in your workshop and they have a low profile. While, this one keeps the guns on the floor. But, other than that it is good.

#266977 My Ls Brass Breech Version

Posted by Hi Yah on 25 February 2010 - 10:22 PM in Modifications

This is a really good idea. I'm pretty sure the angel breech uses 9/16, I like how this uses 17/32 mainly because thats the size of brass I use as my main barrel. And its perfectly air tight because the 1/2 makes a seal with the 17/32 right?
And this is alot less brass.
Nice write up too!

You know that can make an angel breech with 17/32, right? Just size down all the brass.

#266345 Deploy Cs-6 Overhaul

Posted by Hi Yah on 21 February 2010 - 05:28 PM in Modifications

Nice job. But, instead of a hornet tank I would recommend a big salvo tank. Overall, you did a great job.

#266330 At3k Barrel Help

Posted by Hi Yah on 21 February 2010 - 03:38 PM in General Nerf

Use CPVC that's is drilled out with a 1/2" drill bit.

#266086 Persuader

Posted by Hi Yah on 19 February 2010 - 10:09 PM in Homemades

How did you rifle the barrel?

#266047 At2k Help/fix

Posted by Hi Yah on 19 February 2010 - 07:23 PM in General Nerf

If the pump is plugged the lump of hot glue might have busted your check valve.

#265983 Pistol Splat Problem

Posted by Hi Yah on 19 February 2010 - 07:43 AM in Modifications

Wash every down to get rid of the lube. Then, replace the hot glue in the plunger head with goop. Then super glue the head back on. Make sure you lube it with a proper lube.

#265846 Supermaxx 750 Write-up/improvements

Posted by Hi Yah on 18 February 2010 - 07:38 AM in Modifications

Try making the clip a bit shorter, and maybe nest some copper in it to reduce deadspace.

#265806 Zbreech

Posted by Hi Yah on 17 February 2010 - 08:52 PM in Homemades

What are all the sizes of the PVC and the couplings?

#265805 Blaster Classification/rating System

Posted by Hi Yah on 17 February 2010 - 08:46 PM in General Nerf

What about RSCB's? Would they get rof points of a single barrel, but get the dart capacity of 2-8? And what if you have a turreted gun with inline clipped barrels?

#264909 Tetra Strike Barrel Replacement

Posted by Hi Yah on 10 February 2010 - 07:48 AM in Modifications

Could you nest PVC over the barrels to protect them and keep em' straight? What are the ranges?

#264533 Cpvc'd Air Tech 2000

Posted by Hi Yah on 06 February 2010 - 07:44 PM in Modifications

Try drilling out the cpvc with a 1/2" spade bit. It'll give the barrels an air-gun fit with most hardware store foam.

#263010 Replaced Plunger Tube Disc Shot...

Posted by Hi Yah on 24 January 2010 - 07:19 PM in Modifications

On my bbbb's I use one #17 o-ring and my over pressure valve pops at 7 pumps. I figure 2 should give you a great seal.

#262911 Replaced Plunger Tube Disc Shot...

Posted by Hi Yah on 24 January 2010 - 08:34 AM in Modifications

I would recommend putting two Danco #17 o-rings on your plungerhead. This will give you a great seal in the plunger tube.

#262905 The First Look At The Tetrastrike

Posted by Hi Yah on 24 January 2010 - 07:01 AM in General Nerf

It looks like this gun might have some potential.

#262515 Furyfire/2k Modification!

Posted by Hi Yah on 20 January 2010 - 05:41 PM in Modifications

Nice mod. Could a 3k tank fit inside? If so your ranges should go up.

#262014 "paintball" Guns

Posted by Hi Yah on 16 January 2010 - 11:27 AM in General Nerf

Thanks for all the pictures. This gun looks very promising.

#261727 Angel Breeched Spring Replacement

Posted by Hi Yah on 13 January 2010 - 09:12 PM in Modifications

Try an Ace 69 spring.

#261636 "paintball" Guns

Posted by Hi Yah on 12 January 2010 - 10:22 PM in General Nerf

It looks like a pistol splat on steroids. Also, you mentioned that the spring is longer, but is it stronger?

#260983 Breeched Bbbb

Posted by Hi Yah on 06 January 2010 - 06:34 PM in Modifications

Nice jpb. Also if the o-ring is bad on this gun too you could replace it with a Danco #17 o-ring.

#260703 Supermaxx 3000 Overhaul

Posted by Hi Yah on 04 January 2010 - 07:50 PM in Modifications

Nice job. What's next? Sm1k perhaps?

#260201 At2k Help Needed

Posted by Hi Yah on 30 December 2009 - 06:56 PM in Modifications

I too believe that you busted your check valve. Also, why do you make so many help threads?

#260019 Stromfinder Rifle

Posted by Hi Yah on 28 December 2009 - 07:48 PM in Modifications

$7 for 2 tubes? At my Petco it was $7 for 3 feet. How long were each of the tubes?

#259638 Berserker Fusion! Daikaiju!

Posted by Hi Yah on 23 December 2009 - 10:33 AM in Modifications

Couldn't you just take a heat gun to some CPVC and bend it so it fits in the shell? This would remove the need of an elbow and cut down on the dead space.

#258911 Nite Finder Ex3 Problems

Posted by Hi Yah on 13 December 2009 - 10:19 PM in Modifications

Just hot glue the plunger tube to the shell.

#258621 Specific Nightfinder Question

Posted by Hi Yah on 11 December 2009 - 07:39 AM in Modifications

Just fill it with epoxy putty and sand it smooth.

#258535 Can't Afford A Splitfire? Smdtb To The Rescue!

Posted by Hi Yah on 09 December 2009 - 08:42 PM in Modifications

Great job badwrench. The only problem I can think of is that a smdtb can't get the same ranges as a splitfire, but other than that it's great.

#257767 Mav Help

Posted by Hi Yah on 01 December 2009 - 10:46 PM in Modifications

Add a firefly spring. Your gun will be pretty beastly for a mav. Also, replace the barrels with PETG.

By ADD a FF spring, do you mean have a mav sprin AND a FF spring in the gun or JUST the FF spring?

I mean just the firefly spring alone.

#257755 Mav Help
