General tip;
Don't move your console while there is a disk inside, even if it's off. It can horribly scratch your disks.

#213659 The Snapbow Mk. 4

Posted by umpshaplapa on 20 February 2009 - 01:28 AM in Homemades

I added enough teflon tape to the front bushing to make it snug, but I'm still worried about it being air-tight. If I add any more it just pushed the tape up when I try to insert the bushing. Am I just paranoid?

#213653 Red Bbb

Posted by umpshaplapa on 20 February 2009 - 12:56 AM in Modifications

There's only two differences that I've noticed. The new spring is a little longer (maybe 3/4") and it's slightly weaker. Also the orange catch things that stick out the sides are thicker in the red one. I did a half and half shell, half purple, half red; and I had to sand out an opening in the purple side so that the orange piece would slide through.

That is indeed quick. So those are 100% air tight with just e-tape? Hot damn!

#213416 Ctf Flags

If I may recommend something a little better, replace those threaded adapters for normal slip couplers. Doing that will fix the stand problem, while still keeping then upright.

I tried that before, but the weight of the base would fall of when running.

I think he means that you remove the pole from the base. Carrying the base seems kind of dumb to me.

#213080 Longshot Problem

Posted by umpshaplapa on 17 February 2009 - 06:14 PM in Modifications

Make sure it's snug. If you turn it over it shouldn't immediately fall all the way down.

Didi you use enough E-tape?

#213055 Bbb Spring Replacement/addition

Is that like half of another? Or is it more like a third?

#213047 Bbb Spring Replacement/addition

Posted by umpshaplapa on 17 February 2009 - 04:34 PM in Modifications

I don't have any industrial springs on me at the moment, and I was wondering what's a good spring to replace/supplement the BBB spring?
Is there is a spring from ace that would be awesome, just give the spring #

Computor glitch.
Sorry for double post.

Looks like you have to wind up the clip once before you use it. Hence that black twisty thing on the back.

Only you would notice those other guns F_A24.

I posted that other Foam from WhiteCap awhile ago.
http://www.whitecapd...roducts/530BR12

Here's a picture comparing it's thickness to some Ace stuff I just picked up.
I used a light behind it.

Mine is the denser one.

Also, does anyone know a consistent foam that has a snug fit in 17/32?

#212345 Deoderant Clip

Posted by umpshaplapa on 14 February 2009 - 11:49 PM in Modifications

Is there any way I can not have that happen?

#212340 Deoderant Clip

Posted by umpshaplapa on 14 February 2009 - 11:23 PM in Modifications

I made a deodorant clip for a breach I made, and I'm having trouble loading it. If I try to load a dart it, the weighted side goes straight down. The darts are barely shorter than the card board I have inserted in the clip.

Am I doing something wrong?

#211936 Stefans - The Hc Way

Posted by umpshaplapa on 13 February 2009 - 07:51 AM in Homemades

If you want a perfect dome. Just add the hot glue and before it melts dip it in ice cold water for 10 seconds or less, depening on how cold the water is. And you willbhave a nice round hard tip (no pun please) :)

Your weight can move around if you do that.
I burn a big hole, nearing the outside edges of the foam. Then I drop my weight in and fill up the hole a little past the top. the glue actually fulls some of the foam in, curving the top of the dart.

#211676 The Snapbow Mk. 4

Posted by umpshaplapa on 11 February 2009 - 11:35 PM in Homemades

I realized that. I probably wasn't going to keep any of the shell, and use a key-ring trigger.

#211525 The Snapbow Mk. 4

I'm working on a very minimal "unfair gun" stock on mine. Just a few extra shots with whatever tank I decided.
And no, I'm not using 2" PVC for the stock. Just 3/4.

#211312 Where To Buy Modding Materials

I was at walmart getting a BBB and I saw they now carry Plumbers good and epoxy puddy. Might be old news...

#211038 Where To Buy Modding Materials

Posted by umpshaplapa on 09 February 2009 - 11:47 PM in Modifications

Every Ace near me carries brass. I have 3 of 'em within 3 miles of my house.
I was wondering if anyone knows of a good O-ring you can buy to replace/supplement the stock one?
I just don't have any extra night-finder O-rings at the moment.

You could just coupler it, and get good using that.
Or throw all that shit on there, your choice.

#209335 Longbow

Posted by umpshaplapa on 03 February 2009 - 08:43 PM in Modifications

If you're just glueing that barrel onto the pulnger tube, that should get some pretty nice ranges. It would eliminate the dead space that every other mod has. Painting it would be a good idea too.
I like it.

#209317 Cpvc Mav

Posted by umpshaplapa on 03 February 2009 - 07:47 PM in Modifications

You've gotta take them off. Just use the centre black nub to keep your barrels on semi straight. When I tried CPVCing my Maverick, it didn't turn out well at all, so good luck on yours...

How Can I take them off without exessive ripping with pliers and sanding? Also what happened to your Mav?

#209310 Cpvc Mav

Posted by umpshaplapa on 03 February 2009 - 07:32 PM in Modifications

I'm trying to CPVC the turret on my maverick, and I ran into a barrier. I got the CPVC though the orange part fine, all it took was a little sanding. But I don't know how I can get it into the black base piece. Is there any easy way to do it?

This is the foam I use.
http://www.whitecapd...roducts/530BR12

It's only $7 for 100 feet, but I buy it from a location in Atlanta, not online.

It's nice and dense, but pretty small in diameter. If you know what Ace foam is like in 17/32, it's maybe a tiny bit tighter than that in CPVC.

Fuck. This is exactly what I'm learning in school, and I have no idea.

EDIT- is the cirmcumfrence of the smaller circle 1/8th of the larger circle? That would help.

#208969 Range Estimators Listen Up!

I believe he said he slowly rolled the bike.

#208695 The Red Star Breech

So you pull the CPVC forward and then load the dart in the back of it? I might be instrested in buying one of these. Depends on shipping.

#208572 2009 Edition Bbbb

Posted by umpshaplapa on 01 February 2009 - 11:54 AM in Modifications

Sorry for the semi-necro, but I was hoping to discuss this also and didn't want to make a new topic.
I've noticed this also, but my main problems have been with the pump. In my experience, the pump on the 2009 BBBB actually requires modification to be at all efficient. I haven't modded mine yet (except the pump), so I'm waiting to see. Just from putting my hand on the barrel, it seems a little bit weak.

May I ask how you modded said pump?

#207102 Rapid Fire Shotgun Mod

I use bushings instead of couplers because it puts your barrel closer to the air source. It would provide a marginal range improvement probably.

#207095 Modification and Paintjob Pictures

My modded nightfinder.
It's my first real paintjob, I used krylon fushion and then painted on the silver. I had to use paint marketed for plastic model cars.
GIVE ME FEEDBACK AND ADVICE IF YOU HAVE IT.
