Carrtoon does this industrial spring fit into a NF?

Carrtoon your PM box is full. I don;t want to waste this post so.....er.....
Great job Carrtoon!

Ompa I may still have a NF spring if your interested. I'll send it to you for free if I can find it. I wouldn't destroy a whole NF just for the spring.

Carrtoon you have also convinced me to get that DTG. Although I only want one gun not two. I was wondering Carrtoon what do you use to cut your brass? Also is the bike pump removable? IS a bike pump the same as like a ball pump? Thanks

SInce this thing would be like a long range assault rifle(not reffering to real firearm). YOu may want to cut down the back where the DTG green slider was. Just a suggestion because I find that area uncomfortable.

EDIT- I just realized I bet carrtoon could own all of us at once in a skirmish with all of his new weapons. Carrtooon have you ever been in battle?

The at2k pump is removed. I use a bike pump because it fills it with air 3 times faster. It doesn't cock. This gun rotates the barrels everytime the trigger is pulled. The trigger is hooked to the at2k internals by a small wire. I pump the gun two times and pull the trigger. Repeat 10 times

OOO. AWESOME. I get it. It's like an at2k times 10. WHOA. That thing must be unstopable. AND it only takes 2 pumps.

EDIT- I am definaitly doing this. How do you work a bike pump though? Is that the same as like a ball pump? Because I have tons of those...

I just realized, I haven't given my list yet.

Here they are, in no particular order.

-Linkin Park, mostly Meteora and Hybrid Therory. I only like 'Given Up' on Minutes to Midnight.

-Hoobastank, that's right, the band that sang 'The Reason' which was popular about 5 years ago. They're pretty good.

-Billy Joel, I defy anybody to say he isn't amazing.

-Atomship, $5 you've never heard of 'em. Look them up if you haven't, they're a great rock band.

-Chromium_[ZA], an amazing, almost undiscovered metal band.

-Seven Wiser, another undiscovered talent.

-A few DAUGHTRY songs, that's right. American Idol foolz. I actually hate that show, but he isn't bad. I just have to be in the mood to listen to him.

Whoa, I really like the top 4.

We have something in common.

If you want a good hoobastank song go with Crawling in the Dark. Sick intro.

Billy joel's version of walking in memphis is great and of course piano man. I basically like all of Linkin Park's music.

Shadowkid we have the same exact taste in music.

I could have given you some recomendations if my ipod didnt go through the wash.

Do you like POD? I'm not sure if you would or not. I personally like them. Try Boom, youth of the nation, alive.

I also like the song Shadow of the Day by Linkin Park, I'm not really sure why.

other god ones(I'm sure you have most of these)
-pretender-foo fighters
-best of you

try the song "The Kill" I actually forget the name of the band, it has the word mars in it though.

Also does anyone like Rise Against? great band.

#117482 A Sawtooth Named "jaws"

Posted by nerfer34 on 29 July 2007 - 09:28 AM in Modifications

OK I have a couple of more questions.

1) Does the 1/2" cpvc slide freely int the 3/4"?

2) So to load this thing, you point the gun up(weight slides all the way back, break barrel and load darts, point down, shoot, repeat?

3)What guns do you think this would work best on? Will it work for airguns at all?

#117433 A Sawtooth Named "jaws"

Posted by nerfer34 on 28 July 2007 - 02:23 PM in Modifications

Again, amazing mod.

I'm slightly confused about the sawtooth barrel setup.

Is this right?

Posted Image

Air flows around the stefans in the 3/4" pvc and hits the one stefan that's actually in the barrel?

#100733 Nitefinder Modification Writeup

Posted by nerfer34 on 03 March 2007 - 05:15 PM in Modifications

It's probably just me, but in the picture of the plunger, it seems as if the barrel is a tad bit crooked. But it's probably just me. Nice mod, I've yet to brass an NF. Like Flaming Hilt asked, ranges? Oh, and nice paintjob, Iv'e also still to paint an NF(grammar), or any other gun as a matter of fact. Lastly, did you have a problem with the plunger head hitting the circular piece held in by 3 pieces, sorry for bad description, but I've had this problem with every NF that I have since I take it out.

Yea that barrel may be crooked because that was an old pic. I'll get a pic up of the new one if I can.

The ranges are the best ranges I've gotten so with 5 NFs. The ranges are about 75' Flat in about 45-55 degrees.

Oh I got rid of that circular piece with the 3 small pieces. That blocks a ton of air. It's not necessary to use that at all.

I may be redoing the paintjob, not sure though.

Glad you like it.

Grenado- Well obvioulsy you can do it with other barrel material but I did it with brass.

Posted by nerfer34 on 03 March 2007 - 02:55 PM in Modifications

Ok, so grab your NF and open it up. In this mod I "PPKed" it by cutting off the ammo holders and the light.

I am using a strong Home Depot spring, so I want a little reinforcement.

To deaden the sound a little bit I used this stuff called "Great Stuff", it is foam insulation that you spray on stuff.
The stuff really expands so you need to clean it up a bit after application.
Posted Image

Then I added brass ammo holders to where the batteries used to be.
Posted Image

Then I took the little orange circular piece to the plunger head and glued on a 1 inch piece of 17/32" brass. This piece of brass will act as a coupler for 9/16" brass barrels.

I used gorilla glue, which I highly recomend because it fills up the extra space too.

Here is the pluger tube with a 9/16" barrel over the 17/32" brass.
Posted Image

Here is the stronger spring I am talking about. Here it is compared to the grey/green NF spring and the blue/yellow NF sping.
Posted Image
I also had an extra O-ring and put that on, too.
Posted Image
Here is the completed plunger shaft.
Posted Image

Now simply reassemble the gun and you're good to go. Reassembling can be a little tricky because of how strong the industrial spring is, so I recomend getting someone to help you.

Now you have an interchangable barrel system for 9/16" brass! This gun also vacuum loads itself becasue of how the brass has so little friction.
The reload time is great!
Here is the final product.

What a cool looking gun, I like the painjob and how it was cut down. I wanted to make one like this, and I did. Posted it in the Modifcations/Paintjobs thread. It looks better in person though.
I don't really understand your barrel assembly. In the picture of just the plunger and barrel, your barrel looks like a good size, but then in the picture of the whole gun, it looks like it's maybe an inch long. How does it work? You said the 17/32" acts as a coupler, so does it hold the 9/16" on there? But if it does, wouldn't it slide all around?

In the picture of the whole gun. The barrel is not on. Yea the 17/32" brass acts as a coupler and is permantly glued onto the pluger, that's what you are seeing in the "whole gun picture".

I used a pipecuuter to cut the brass barrels and then widened it slighlty so it fits really tight on the 17/32" brass. It doesn't move at all.

EDIT- I'm gonna add some more pics to show a few more things I added today to make the gun more effective.

To add to what Piney said...

I actually can't believe I didn't show a pic of how I covered the hole up. I filled it with Greatstuff(expanding foam) and then sanded/cut it to look good, then just painted right on it.

If I were to do this mod again I would have probably used JB 2 part epoxy, but the glue I used(which I think was gorrilla then plumbers goop) hasn't broke yet.

That's just a great mod, but I'm also curious as to why only 56'?

Mine hits around that and I didn't replace the spring or lube it or anything really. I think that your barrel may be too long for the LNL. Just a suggestion.

Nice Writeup!

I may try this mod. How did you sturdy your barrels?

#78279 Split-tech 2k

Posted by nerfer34 on 01 April 2006 - 08:48 AM in Modifications

OK falcon.... Did you say you were selling these? Well if so then if I gave you my SF, would you turn it into something like that? For $. I have been trying to figure out some plans how to auto rotate the barrel assembly........

#78242 Split-tech 2k

Posted by nerfer34 on 31 March 2006 - 04:15 PM in Modifications

Hey falcon same here, the Sf is my favorite gun. Its just like a NF but with 2 shots!! And plus the Sf gets even better range! Um but your mod can't increase the RPF by that much right? Because you still must pump, rotate barrels and then shoot. Don't get me wrong that mod is awesome, especially how you didn't lose much range.
In my opinion, that Sf would be a better primary than secondary Because
-ppurpose of a secondaary is to get off a quick shot
-too big

I also have a question...How many pumps do you pump your SF?

#78265 Split-tech 2k

Posted by nerfer34 on 31 March 2006 - 10:49 PM in Modifications

Falcon- I use Petg so no need for ramrod. Actually sticking 2 darts in and rotating two barrels take about the same amount of time. PLUS you must load all 8 darts before the match. Don't get me wrong I love your mod, just statin' the facts.

#77957 Split-tech 2k

Posted by nerfer34 on 28 March 2006 - 08:08 PM in Modifications

AWESOME, I have been trying to find a way to improve my SF!
- BUt what about the air release ? So do you pump shoot one from each turret and then manually rotate them both?

-This is a little off topic but do you know how to fix the SF when you pump it air comes out of the barrels?

#77969 Split-tech 2k

Posted by nerfer34 on 28 March 2006 - 09:23 PM in Modifications

Thanks. I will try lubing the barrels. Because I used to get over 90' but now I get like 80'. I like your idea. I was going to just make a bunch of ammo holders but your idea is better.
How sturdy are the at2k turrets on the SF? Do they move when running with the gun?
Also another thing to consider is since you have made your SF larger(unholsterable) you MAY want to consider adding a stock and acessories and turning you SF into a rifle....Just a thought.

Sni.per from Turok is also pretty cool.

#97932 Breechless Deodorant Clip

Posted by nerfer34 on 08 January 2007 - 04:34 PM in Modifications

Nice mod/ write up!

BUT of cource you can make a breechless deodarant clip. But you're much better off making a breech clip like FA24. Becaus eyou are losing tons of air. That is why your getting 35'. A well modded expand a blast can get 75-80'. So yes you up the ROF bbut you drastically decrease ranges.

I meant to say what Zorn's Lemma said about the trigger... But I get why you did it.

Also, how do you load the marvelous salvo barrels?

#213689 Clusterfuck Of A Longshot

Cool, but wouldn't have been better if you just did the marvelous salvo integration? ( seperate trigger, no speedloaders).

Apparently you wanted a linked trigger though, which is kinda nice too.

Great job.

These things are pretty cool. We sometimes use the classic nerf ball( I hope some of you guys own that) or the nerf soccer ball.

YOU CAN STILL ORDER THE NERF SOCCERBALL ONLINE! I think its $10. Classical Nerf at its prime.

Nice find Bags.

#74659 Scope Mod!

Posted by nerfer34 on 28 February 2006 - 05:18 PM in Modifications

Guys a scope does nothing!(Even a paintball or airsoft gun shouldn't have a scope (which obviously fires further than a Nerf gun). These types of guns are too inacurate plus a poece of plastic won't help you out. A scope should only be used for appearance.

Nice find on the rail!

#79461 Nerf Grenade

Posted by nerfer34 on 10 April 2006 - 05:25 PM in Homemades

Guys I just got an ingenius idea on a nerf grenade. I really think I can easily design a working one! I'll get up pics later and since I'm no good at making homeades maybe someone else can try it. But my Idea is fool proof so far and will have a VERY effective blast(no co2 or gas or anything).

Edit Okay Here it is
nerf nade(my best one yet by far)

The little "pin " type thing hits the wall triggering the realese valve which releases the air and making the stefans come out back.
