Thank you Koree for such an amazing war. Well it wasn't just a war it was freaken experience. Also thank you Mark for letting us use the Plains Airsoft Arena! Can't wait to go back.

One cannot simply put the war in a box of plusses and minuses. However the war could be summed up into one word, californication.

Being from the east coast I didn't know what to expect. I've only heard about the "lazy" nerfing on the west coast. It started off a brisk 40 deg F. I started to second guess my choice of cargo shorts. Not too long after I ventured into the light I saw a familiar car and ice9 showed up with CaliforniaPants!

I was going to write up some elaborate wall of text but I’m lazy.

I'll be trying to make it and am looking for guests. I have a chance of making it for airsoft too, but don't have terribly advanced gear.

Tis all good. Most likely I'll be running a pistol all day, with extended mags of course.

There is a fair amount of wiggle room; I could do it the week before or after. After puts it two days after Christmas, though, which means I will definitely be free but I imagine some people will not be free that day.

Let's just say the week before, so the 13th of December. How does that work for people?

My first war was APOC 2011. I used a snap bow made by Cheerios with a wye/hopper and cpvc barrel.
I was shooting #6 slugs made by Demon Lord. Actually at the last war I was at I found one of the darts I used at APOC (Pink foam, green felt, has an 'H' written on the back).

I think this was FA's last APOC and hydrocannonkid's first

Addition: It worked great all day long. I was able to get some key positions in carpe and pin down part of the opposing team due to the hopper's dart capacity.

I also had a CPVC breeched longshot from some person here but it didn't feed properly and chopped up darts so I never used it and ended up selling it later on.

Man this year was great despite the impending doom of thunderstorms and what not. I guess it wouldn't have been APOC without some rain. I think for the past 3 years its always rained at some point during the day. Thank you Langley for hosting and running the war. Thanks to all who helped run rounds like Xellah and the like. It was great meeting new people and catching up with people I haven't seen in a long time (SilentRebel, IcySushi, DICE134, Griever, and others).

Having been shot near point blank and point blank and ending up with nasty bruising courtesy of the recently deceased, may Gears live forever, long live the king, I find barrel taps quite lovely. Also because I normally flank hard and get behind people. I have also dished out quite a bit of damage to people like Shandsgator8 (wrecked both of his elbows in the same war from 2 ft away) and he requested I just say surrender or 'tap'. I happily obliged. Now I say 'tap/surrender' based on who I'm up against. Last war there were plenty of new players and I chose to play with them mercifully. For people like the deceased, long live the king, I'll light him up!

I use a $30 rotary tool with a bunch of bits from Costco while Koree uses a $80 Dremel tool. His lasted over 5-7 years I think and mine is going on 3 years. I think it's ok to skimp out on tools that don't necessary interface with the materials directly. But I would say pay some money for the parts that actually touch the materials like a special PVC cutting bit. Koree has one and it goes through pvc like a lightsaber.

Location: The field next to Eddystone Lighthouse Hall

We’ll be setting up mobstacles for cover.

Rules:
Eye protection is mandatory
Blasters Restrictions: Singled titans and the like. I reserve the right to spot ban anything deemed unsafe.
Dart Restrictions: Slugs, slugoids, and silicon headed darts of various kinds. Try to keep the mass equal to or under 1.1 grams. No Amoirs or darts that contain "putty" of any sort.
No shooting in the staging area or around it. If you shoot someone in the staging area, even by accident, there will be consequences.

Age Restrictions:
Anyone under the age of 13 will NOT be allowed to play. The only exception being an older sibling/parent/guardian PLAYING with us. We're not going to take care of your kids.

Anyone who is not considered mature enough for this activity, regardless of age will be dropped from the rest of the day's activities. This includes, and is not limited to dealing with complaining about pain from taking hits.
