#136216 What To Do?

Posted by Quilan Fett on 17 January 2008 - 12:19 AM in Modifications

It actually happened to me when I replaced the spring on mine. I didn't know to heat it off, so I just cut off the peine in front of the plunger head, then screwed it back on when I was done.

For taggers, you could do something like this breech.

There is already a hole through the plunger head.

#134568 Need A Fbr Recommendation

Posted by Quilan Fett on 01 January 2008 - 02:19 AM in General Nerf

I have some grey frost king that is tight in 17/32 brass. I also have some that is black and loose in 17/32. Both are labeled 1/2" and made by frost king. I bought the grey stuff, but I found the black stuff in my parent's garage.

Not too pull off topic, but if a clip is airtight with the barrel, it doesn't need a breach?

The air will still fill the clip before pushing the dart out so it is very inefficent.

These should be found in the door section of most hardware stores. ACE and Home Depot have them.

#147346 Ball Pump To Spring Gun

No, they are a bit bigger than the NF spring but about the same length. It comes in packs of 2 and you can Goop them together.

Go to Ace. Mine aren't labled as 9713, but they have basically the same dimensions, hence the "variations" I mentioned. Just bring your NF soring and look for one about the same size.

#143277 Increasing Accuracy?

Posted by Quilan Fett on 01 March 2008 - 12:54 AM in Modifications

I beg to differ. With my pump shotgun (more powerful than a BBB), I can hit my friend in the head with a tagger at 60'. With a streamline on the same shot, I hit the ground 15' in front of me.

What I do is hammar a small peice (2") of 1/2" CPVC into a Peice of 1/2" PVC. You can make the peice of PVC longer depending on the air output of your gun. With my singled shotgun, I use 6" of PVC and my Taggers work as well as stefans.

#147247 Ball Pump To Spring Gun

Posted by Quilan Fett on 27 March 2008 - 12:14 PM in Homemades

I have considered doing this many times, but I am just too darn lazy. The only good springs I can find are all variations of 9713. Two of these glued together are about 6".

#122168 Singled Turreted Pump Shotgun

Posted by Quilan Fett on 05 September 2007 - 05:17 PM in Modifications

FA_24's new project is the Turreted pump shotgun. I got mine about 3-4 months ago and modded it with horrible results. After attempting to fix it, I decided to see it's full potential and temporarially singled it. It was awesome. So I sawed off the turret holder part and after much tweaking, here is what it looks like compared to a LS.

Posted Image

Now for the mod.

First of all, remove the turret and saw off the part of the front that holds it in place. Pull out of the barrel the peice of circular rubber that seals againt the turret. Now take a peice of CPVC about 1-1 1/2 inches long (I don't know exactly how long, but measure it so that it is so it is almost touching the plunger head with enough sticking out to fit in a coupler). Wrap one side in e-tape till it fits very snugly in the hole, Then wrap it a little more and hammer it in.
Posted Image

Next, cut a peice of 3/4'' PVC 2'' long and hammer it onto the outside of the hole. You may need to sand the outside of the hole to do this, but don't make it loose. Now hammer your CPVC coupler inside the 3/4 and make sure the CPVC goes into the back of it.
Posted Image

Now you can pull the plunger tube and plunger rod out to replace the spring. This best way to do this is to thread the
spring over the plunger head. The other way that might work is to grab the circular peice in the middle of the plunger head with a vice grips and unscrew it. I used the stock spring and a 3B spring. After that, look inside the plunger tube and make sure your CPVC went into the coupler. If not, fix it. You also might want to add some glue to keep it in place and some foam to cushion the plunger head.
The last thing you need to do is shave down the shell where the barrel comes out so that your new barrel will fit through (as seen in the second picture).
You're done! ^_^

I have not tested ranges due to being lazy, but It can shoot 60 feet to my fence with barely any dropping.

Edit: Pictures up. And, yes I did photoshop my yard out of them.

#195389 Getting Flamed For One Mistake

Posted by Quilan Fett on 11 December 2008 - 12:08 AM in Off Topic

The people you quoted, with the exception of One Man Clan, are newish members. They post a lot, most of it not worthwhile. Since their post count is high and they see others do it, they think they can be assholes to the new members. Then there are those who just joined and want to get ahead of the game by catching on quickly (Betrayal). The thing these people haven't realized is the older members (not saying I include my self) have unspoken rules. One of these is if one person tells the new member something, nobody else needs to say it. If you look at it by itself, One Man Clan's post was not actually very harsh. You did break a forum rule, which is to not post in old threads. This is understandable as it is acceptable on other forums. It is in the code of conduct, but some rules no one cares about, like not riding your bike on the sidewalk. Many new members do this. I do applaud you on your good grammar. I recommend you don't delete your account and just do this: Every time you are about to hit the "Add Reply" button, think "How could I be flammed for this?" After a little while you will see what does and doesn't fly.

But. If you are still not convinced and want to delete your account, I suggest you do something like Kabuki did in my signature.

Posted by Quilan Fett on 26 December 2007 - 06:56 PM in Modifications

where do you get this stuff it sounds like a dream come true for me.
I use china weld which kinda sucks. needs like 5h to dry.

How long does this stuff take to dry?

I get it at ACE.
It takes 5 minutes to dry
24hrs to fully cure.

If you look at the link in my sig, you will see what I'm talking about. I used something similar to this, but I removet the screwey thing. How is this similar, you might ask. I kept the pusher eice and put a 9v battery over it to push the darts down. Works great. But, it is top-fed.

*sobs* I-I...I just love it...I l-love it soooo much....

All sobbing aside, I really do love it. This is my favorite thing since SPUNerf's Recon Rifle or the "Uber Pimpin'" 4B made by...uh...who was it again?tyrant_bb. Anyways, it rocks.

I don't get why this is so awesome. Also, the Recon Rifle? Really? It changed a cool pistol capeable of >50' into a carbine-sized gun that just got 40'.
