That would be funny if it wasn't so true. As it is, it just hurts my feelings.Apoc is muggy. Spoon doesn't like the moisture....bad for his hair.
I would like to return to Apoc however solely so I can avenge my dismal performance from last year. When I realized that out of 30 people I was the ONLY ONE with an automatic, and we were playing in a forest, well I knew I was fucked. And I was. When I return, I will not make the same mistake again.

Some highlights for me:
-Seeing Groove again, because he's fucking awesome. As well as Bags (also fucking awesome), and a whole bunch of other people I remember from years past.
-Meeting (well, re-meeting technically) Langley and Ice Nine, who are both badasses and incredibly nice.
-Meeting the Crossbow-toting, purple-headband-wearing Seattle duo who are super rad and very generous, both in terms of giving gifts and "generously" shooting me repeatedly.
-Watching Thorn and that young girl (who was she?!) completely dominate four grown men in the speed rounds. Unbelievable. Sorry I had to take you out later in one-on-one Thorn, but I have a (largely fictitious) reputation to uphold!
-Watching in horror as my team got completely and unambiguously owned in missile crisis.
-That time, at the conclusion of my ill-fated last-minute missile run, when I laid down on the concrete and seriously considered vomiting and/or passing out from exhaustion.
-Feeling like a weird combination of C-rate celebrity and creepy old guy.
-Trying to decide how I felt about the fact that about a third of the attendees were younger than Armageddon itself. Proud? Old? Both?
-Feeling satisfied that, after five years away, the Nerfing performance I lost on account of my out-of-practice aim I seemed to gain back from having lost thirty pounds.
-Marveling at what great sports everyone was and how there wasn't a single dick, rule-breaker, or hit-denier. Seriously, such a great group.
-Being intimidated by the speed and proficiency of Langley's pastrami-eating skillz.
-Expressing my unrequited love for Falcon in a lunchtime voicemail that apparently caused him to almost wreck his car while he listened to it.
-Reflecting on the amazing current state of mods and homemades while being repeatedly lasered from like a hundred feet away.
-Remembering why I love Nerf so much and why I've spent 20 years (off and on) Nerfing.

This would be my first Nerf war since Armageddon X in 2009. Jesus Christ has it really been 15 years since I completely pwned Vacc the entire first Armageddon? I'm getting too old for this shit. Hopefully I can still shoot straight.
Looking forward to hopefully seeing some old faces and meeting throngs of sweaty teenagers who probably have no clue who I am or why I deserve their subservience.

Did you guys know that Vacc is my longest running friendship ever? Outside of my family there is nobody that I have talked to for as long continuously as him. Oh how I do love that boy. If you hadn't fallen out of contact so often Stefan you could have tied with Vacc.

Yea we're all alive and kicking, though some of us (like me) aren't posting as often because of Real Life ™. Nice to see you're not dead or anything. We're still holding nerf wars every other month or so out here, and even more often in New Jersey and elsewhere should you ever decide to get off your ass and pick up a gun.

I love the idea of making a nerf movie, but if you're gonna do it with this kind of plot, you have to make it somewhat tongue-in-cheek otherwise it'll be just stupid to most people.
Oh, and if you're thinking of a 25-30 minute film, you'd better be thinking of at least a week of 12 hour shoot days. You'd better shorten it to 5-10 mins, trust me.
I'm sorry, but the film student in me is starting to kick in.....if you're seriously thinking of doing this email me and we can talk about it. I don't know what you're filmmaking experience is, but the concept of a nerf movie has always been cool to me.

The camera angles and how to get them are the jobs of the director and the cinematographer, respectively. The writer simply writes what can be seen and heard onscreen, but stays away from directing the camera. Not that it really matters in a project like this, but just for clarification.....

This is going completely in the other direction but what if the film revolved around Nerf becoming the nations next spectator sport craze. Improbable of course, but it would give a reason for everyone to be using nerf guns.

Mason: Seriously man, don't worry about it. We all want to have fun too. Cxwq makes a good point though, none of us "hate" anybody just because they're younger, and none of us make fun of other nerfers. However some of us DO trash talk quite a bit. I, for instance, am notorious for yelling "FUCK!" or "Son of a BITCH!" after getting shot. It doesn't mean I hate you, or that I'm mad at you at all, it just means I can't control what I'm saying during moments of extreme activity.
Don't worry about it, it'll be awesome. People keep coming back for a reason, and it's NOT because of me, I assure you....

5/15 is fine for me, and so far 5/8 and 5/22 would be ok also but those weekends may fill up as we get closer to them. I'm cool driving down to Oceanside, I'll ask my people here if they could do a 5/15 war. My guess is that I'd be bringing 2 others.
As for your war this Sunday the 18th Ray, Matt Kashuba said he'd come and I think I can make it. However I wouldn't be able to stay all day, I'd probably have to leave around 3 or 4pm as I'm going to have a shitload of work to do that day. I'll ask if Jason and Jordan (and anybody else) would be able to make it, but don't get your hopes up.
I've got plenty of extra guns but I have almost NO ammo, like 50 darts. I've got supplies to make maybe another 50 darts or so, but if your ammo works in our brass and PETG guns we may need to gank some off of you. Hmm, though I guess with 6 or so people that would be plenty.
So in short, May is open right now but that may change. I can reserve 5/15 for the war though if that's the date it'll happen. As of now I'm 75% sure about next Sunday (18th) with Kashuba at Ray's house.

OMG hearing "Destructor Variant" again brings back so many memories.....I don't think ANYBODY's SS2 fired 70 feet back then, or even now for that matter.....Dude, those can almost all be attributed to NO or at least an NO era occurance, and that is not the sign of an old nerfer. I mean, that reaches back a whoping 4 years. Now if you had said "You've done the "destructer variant" and the ss2 STILL doesn't fire 70 ft." Well then I'd have to say you were one grizzled son of a bitch.

I remember when I'd root through every box (yes, box) of megas at TRU trying to find "Magnums" for my SS2. I recall when I first fired a Ultimator I thought the world was ending or something.

Castle park is right next to a community center and if there are any other kids on the park at all (sometimes even if there isn't) we get kicked out. That happened a lot at the early LANOs.

As for June, yea I agree it would be better to wait. Steph gets back (I believe) like June 16, so if we could do it in late June that would be best since I'll be losing Matt and Jason since they'll be home for the summer.
