Fraternal Twins:
Posted Image

Well, technically one is a Airzone Tri-shot or whatever its called, but I pulled the sticker off, and now its a Lanard Shot Gun. Has Lanard molded into the plastic and everything.

Turreted version has standard things done to it.
-Full travel on the plunger rod
-Glued rotation mech
-Rear loading
-3/4 PVC in the rear loading holes
-Screen door spring + half of a Stink Blaster spring
-Craft foam on the plunger head. I used the spring rest as a template for the foam, not realizing at the time it would flare the plunger head PERFECTLY, 99.9% seal.
-Reinforced everything, plunger rests, priming bar, catch, and turret roation bar.

Posted Image

Hoppered version is my original turreted one. It broke, twice, so I decided to hack the shit out of it.
-Front cut off to just before the plunger rests
-Plunger tube flipped so the air outlet is at the top.
-Reinforced shell, plunger tube, plunger tube rests, catch, and priming bar.
-2 full tubes of E-putty used to reinforce everything.
-Stock and sections of screen door and Stink Blaster springs.
-Full travel on the plunger rod
-Full draw, hits the 8th notch.
-Screws cut off in the front have been replaced with bolts.
-Front heavy as hell.
-Homemade wye.

Posted Image
Needs cosmetic work on the front, bad.

Pearson PTEG is a perfect tight fit in the stock barrels. All I have to do is remove the "just-in-case" e-tape and give a yank to be able to fire arrows.

Going to mess around with different springs for this, when I can finally bring myself to stop playing with it.

Shell cuts are from the previous owner.

It's almost too heavy just with the couplers on for the rotation to work right.
And even when it did work right, 5 foot ranges, glad I tested it before making all those barrels and clips.
I'm going to revisit this at a later date, I just dont have the time or patience for it anymore.

MODDING TIP: Dont even bother trying to assemble one of these the same way you took it apart. Put all the internals in the opposite side of the shell, then close and flip over to put the screws in.
It will save you so much time and effort, you will not belive it.

MEGAHAMP
Posted Image

"Naked"
Posted Image

Triple seal with wooden spacers on the plunger.
Posted Image

Homemade wye, as they are pretty much impossible to find in the great white north.
Posted Image
Posted Image

Notes:
Shit load of hot glue used (around 40 sticks), she's sturdy.
The seal is almost too good, you either need to be pretty strong, or fairly tall (leverage) to use this one.
Also, a tip for anybody thinking of making a MEGAHAMP, make sure it fits in your car before you finish it, this one was close.
Dollarama tape is better than Home Hardware's.

#276537 Homemades Picture Thread

Posted by cheyner on 31 May 2010 - 09:24 PM in Homemades

What? No HAMP's yet?
Posted Image
5 minute $2 HAMP
Found at a dollar store (Dollarama for you Canadians), it is basically a foam covered plunger that was originally intended for water.
Has a plate on the front that lets you select from 1 jet of water, or 4 streams.
All you have to do is glue a coupler on the front and plug the 4 small hole's in the process.
Posted Image
No need to open, just glue on a coupler and you are done.
Not really a homemade, but it has the spirit of one, that, and it is bright green.

#277107 Homemades Picture Thread

Posted by cheyner on 07 June 2010 - 08:31 PM in Homemades

As fun as HAMP's are, they are a pain in the ass to transport, and mobility becomes an issue if you are not in a wide open space. I have an answer to this:
Posted Image

I call it the Mini Mega HAMP.
Only 2 feet long (back to barrel tip).
Shoot's 2-3 dart at a time.
20 shot hopper clip (it's as long as the HAMP).
Petg nested in red Pex.
Plunger tube is 3" PVC.
Homemade wye.

DA MAMP (Dual Action Medium Airflow Manual Plunger)
Posted Image
Posted Image

Push the handle to fire a shot, then pull it back to fire another.
Uses 2 10 shot RSCB's that vaccume load.
Built to prove that the design works, fires in the 50 ft range.

#295527 Dartsmithing Tips Archive

Posted by cheyner on 07 March 2011 - 08:05 PM in Darts and Barrels

I still think they are a little thin, at least by the look. What thickness of foam are these? Say... 1/16"? I think that I would probably use at least 1/8", probably 3/16" if I could. Really good idea with the leather/gasket punch.

The great part about craft foam is that it is so cheap. It is still a much cheaper option if you double up 2 sheets if you dont think 1 is thick enough.
My local Dollarama has similar sized packs of craft foam for $2. They have self adhesive as well, but I am not sure of the size/cost.

I might actually try making some slugs now, seeing as I cannot find felt tips locally.

#307961 Where To Buy Modding Materials

Posted by cheyner on 01 December 2011 - 06:45 PM in Modifications

Alternatively, most stick lumber comes in tarps, a few questions towards the right people should get you all the tarp you need, for free.

Any store that sells lumber should be able to help you with this, no problem.

Depending on what you need the thin-wall PVC for, the tube used for central vac piping is 1 1/2 O.D. and fits over 1 1/4 PVC with a bit of a gap. It isn't the strongest though, so I don't know how well it will like mechanical fasteners.

Edit: I double checked today, I lied, it is not 1 1/2 O.D, it is 2" O.D..

Oh, you mean like a Barrel Break IX-2? That would be crazy.

It looks like it might even have 2 plungers in it, which would be interesting to see, reverse or not.

Franchises shouldnt give you any problems. It's the mom and pop shops that will give you problems.

Your best bet would to get some exchanged just in case, I'm pretty sure our dollars are at parity so it shouldnt matter that much.

I also live in the biggest tourist town east of the GTA in Ontario, so it might be different in Toronto.

#287521 Hell Before Halloween #4

That sucks rat balls SoothSayer, It's good to hear everybody is ok.

I'm posting Bookworms recap for her, as she does not have an account here.

Thank you again K-10 and Angel for a amazing day, it was so much fun.

Pros:
+JLego knowing who I was in my costume right away.
+Winning best costume. Seriously it made my day. Plus now I have my very own blaster.
+Lots of different games.
+Seeing everyone again and meeting a lot of new really awesome Canadian and American nerfers.
+Fluffy helping me put my costume back on in the bathroom. Too funny and I'm so glad you were there to help, lol. What would I have done without you?
+K9 cookout. Thank you again for the great food.
+Lunch break with Fluffy and Grizzly.
+Spending the afternoon with the ladies, its really great that so many girls were there. Not that you guys aren't awesome. K-10 is there really going to be a calander? I want to be March, lol.
+Very funny ride to and from the war with Cheyner, XIII, and Greed.
+XIII being able to read my directions.
+No blasters broke.
+Galaxy, I'm pretty sure she's the coolest little girl in the world.

Cons:
-It's over.
-Greed not being able to read my directions, lol.
-The loblaws mini-mall from hell. I've been in halls of mirrors that have been easier to get out of. XIII's picture is completly accurate.
-Umka and chops got me really good in the legs, definatly my best battle marks so far.
-Not being prepared enough to spend the night and go to the afterparty. Next year we have to for sure.

Third version of the Effeminate piss adventure:
So like XIII and Cheyner already wrote, we needed to go for a bathroom break and the only place that we could find fast was the Loblaws mini mall from hell. I think that the guy who designed this building was also trying to test peoples fear of heights. By the time I walked up the free-floating staircase in the middle of the floor I thought I was going to passout, but I was trying to hold it together and not be a crazy person. As we walk along the second floor and I'm hugging the wall, XIII finds the next set of escalators and after he and Cheyner start going up they notice that im not with them because im now having a total panic attack at the bottom. Really why would there be a free-floating escalator, really? So Now Cheyner is running down the esclator to me and XIII is looking very confused as he is being abandoned. After I get calmed down Cheyner goes to find XIII, explain what happened and still find a bathroom then come back and find me. It takes us awhile but eventually we all end up back on the same floor with a bathroom. Now to get back to the car. We get in the elevator and try to go to parking but end up in a completly different parking lot that we cant see a way out of, so we have to backtrack to the second floor of the mall to get back to our parking lot. Most confusing and expensive pee break EVER. I think the designer of this place was hit in the head with a bat, or if not he should be.

#287474 Hell Before Halloween #4

Posted by cheyner on 24 October 2010 - 11:33 PM in Nerf Wars

Many thanks to Forsaken Angle and K-10 for hosting an absolutely amazing war.

The good:
+Seeing everybody again.
+Nerfing with the Americans again.
+Nerfing with the LGLF, awesome group of guys.
+DoomCheyner working amazing all day.
+Not only was I on time for the first time ever, I was early.
+Having 7 of my guns on the field in use at one point, 13 if you include Bookworms costume.
+Bookworm winning best costume.
+Taking a knee in front of the the target in monster mash and taking out 6 people in a row.
+Team yellow in 360 core.
+K9 cookout.
+Umka's Hell Hound.
+Entertaining drive with Bookworm, XIII and Greed.
+Never wanting the day to end, I would have kept going in the rain and dark if more people wanted to.
+Galaxy's dart sweeping.
+Getting most of the darts people didnt claim from Galaxy.
+Going to a nerf war, and coming home with water guns, thanks BuffDaddy.
+Picking off Tank and Pearson when they were hiding under the jungle gym.
+I still refuse to belive this was Butters first war.
+Teaming up with XIII many times throughout the day.
+Lots of ladies, always nice to break up a sausage fest.
+Got to play with a dog in XIII's building.
+Reading XIII"s story after we got home, and crying with laughter. The picture is spot on.

The bad:
-Giving Switchblade a fat lip.
-Umka destroying my trigger finger with Hell Hound, twice.
-The war ended.
-$3 to get lost in a Mini-mall and take a piss.
-Team yellow breaking their side of the core, imagine if we didnt though?
-Apparerntly keeping Bookworm from saying bye to some people, which I feel bad about.

If you make your own wye, you could play with the angle to get streamlines to work, say a 35 degree angle. Also, on my MegaHAMP, I found that I NEEDED a dart stop, no way around it, otherwise on the pull I was sucking darts backwards.

My bad, didn't realize you totally think Nerf guns are the same thing as a real gun, and that anything dealing with firearms can totally be related directly to Nerf.
