Shorty, rear-loading Maverick... In an attempt to minimize as much of this blaster as possible and because it was for fun. This is still waiting for full shell work and paint.

Overhauling an AT3K and found a way to secure the pump without using any glue. There are two pump spacers made from thinwall PVC. The one in the back has a notch for the tubing. The stock pump was cut open to allow the hornet pump to fit through. the hornet pump was wrapped in electrical tape to keep it centered.

Edit: Still thinking of good ideas for the shell

Improving the seal on the Raider. A brass ring in the bolt that connects to a brass barrel nested in the faux barrel. Still trying to get the right length for the barrel. But so far, the seal is great and it gets decent ranges for a raider.

And successfully made a rearloading AT2K turret. Still needs a bit of brass in each barrel to secure the dart and then time to cut open the shell!! This turret loads from the top position rather than the side as done originally.

4" PVC breech with CPVC barrel. I hand-sanded the CPVC for about 4 hours to get it to fit the PVC and make sure it's air tight. It's not the cleanest cut breech, but my next one should be better.

I'm thinking of permanently adding it to my nitefinder.

RSCB BBB

7" CPVC barrel

Reduced dead space:
PVC elbow is nested in the head of the blaster. The plunger goes about 1/4" into the PVC elbow.
The elbow and tee tubes were cut in half.

Drilled two holes into the tee and covered with plastic to see if there's a dart loaded into the barrel.
PETG breech.

Holds 5 2" stefans or 6 1.5" stefans.

One of the splat series. CPVC coupler and padding added to the plunger header and spring rest. Removed part of the barrel tip.

I don't have ranges as it was snowing and it's night time.

Posted Image

And here's a tip. Need a half coupler? If you don't want to spend time cutting up a full coupler, get an end cap and drill a hole through it.

Posted Image

Make sure to make the hole smaller than the original hole so that the pipe doesn't go through. You can see in the picture below the ridge in the cap.

My WIP: Longshot with brass breech, reinforced sled, better springs, plunger head replacement, and additional gaps covered up. All the markings have been sanded off. It is primed with the CPVC handle attached to the top of the bolt sled. The front gun will soon be integrated with an AT2K. I removed some of the stock to give it a little bit of a unique look and when it gets warmer outside, it will get painted.

My 2nd RSCB BBB. This time the clip is in the top rail and goes all the way to the back of the blaster. It is made from 5/8" PETG with a 9/16" breech in the gap where the shells come apart. It holds 10 1.5" stefans. There is a replacement plunger head and a [k26] + BBB spring combo. On the PETG is a piece of thinwall PVC that acts as a stopper so the blaster cannot be overdrawn. I'm experimenting with a 6" and 5" barrel setup.

#263835 Homemades Picture Thread

Posted by popatachi on 30 January 2010 - 07:36 PM in Homemades

Just found a check valve in the Hornet that should be able to be used for a pump. This is connected between the pump and the tanks in the hornet and has a really snug fit with PVC. In the pictures, the tee was cut so one hole will need to be filled or it could be used for whatever purpose you need. I quickly tested this with a hornet tank and it works really well to hold the pressure with minimal leaking. Great valve to make your own pump.

Homemade pump replacement. Still needs more testing, but so far so good. I'm hoping that this will be good enough to use in place of a hornet pump. I just need to connect the tubing to the check valve for the final test.

The pump handle can fit and work in a regular hornet pump tube.

Diagram:
Posted Image
Missing from the diagram is a thin piece of rubber that will form the seal with the ball bearing. The rubber should be attached to the bottom of the top styrene piece and coned out to get a better fit with the ball bearing.

Pump head:
Posted Image

Check valve is housed inside the CPVC end cap.
- ball bearing, spring, styrene, and cpvc
Posted Image

Just fit to the PVC and goop and glue

Prototype (taped for testing)

#335521 Game Types and Rules for Nerf Wars

Posted by popatachi on 17 November 2013 - 08:05 PM in General Nerf

Thanks for the feedback. I have a couple ways to make an easy prop to display who controls the point. Similar to what you linked to and a couple other ideas.

The idea about taking time off spawn time was a way to get more of a incentive to capture points and hopefully a way to get the game to end instead of stalling. I realize that it could be too complicated, but good to know that something similar had been tried before.

Maybe another type of incentive for capturing points but making it easier to remember so that it's mindless to all players. If you guys or anyone else have any ideas, I would love to hear them. Back to the drawing board.

#335467 Game Types and Rules for Nerf Wars

Posted by popatachi on 15 November 2013 - 11:59 PM in General Nerf

Are there any Nerf game types where the main objective is to capture points? I was going through my game library and came upon Dawn of War where you have to capture points throughout the map.

My thought was to have 5 points on the playing field. All 5 points need to be captured to win (I am not sure if this a realistic goal, but we'll go with it for now) or if one team, after the initial point is taken, has no points on the field.

- Two teams with infinite re-spawn and 15 re-spawn time.
- To capture a point, a team (1+) must count aloud to 5 and be next to a single point. (There must be some way to display which team has the point)
- For each point captured, that team gets one second (possibly two) off their re-spawn time.
- If team B takes a point away from team A and there are people from team A mid re-spawn, those people must go to another team A point to start their re-spawn.

At the start of the game, teams must capture their initial point on the field and continue with other points around the field. In order for a player to re-spawn, they must start their counting at any of their own team's points.

There should be a time limit (or maybe when 3 points are captured) on the game where, when the time expires, the game changes to 1 life (or maybe 3-15).

Is there anything similar or is this too complicated or has this been tried and didn't work out well?
